Quaint exterior, modern and quirky interior, location is fantastic, the fishbowl shower in 304 is worthy.

We had a great stay and loved everything about the hotel. The continental breakfast was nice maybe add some fresh fruit would be nice. Upon check out when we left our room you could smell a strong electrical burning smell. We mentioned in to the person at the front desk and he didn't seem to care to much about the odour.

We had a good day at the hotel, and he was a summary:
The hotel location is really ideal downtown and closer to restaurants, café, shopping and touristic locations.

The rooms are clean and basic. we stayed first night in king bedroom which had 3 stairs to access washroom and was on the second floor so we heard the noise coming from restaurants downstairs.

We talked to the customer service, and they kindly changed our room in the second night and upgraded us to meet in the third floor, which was very nice, had no stairs and quiet .

Service was great and staff are friendly.

Complementary breakfast with a simple pastry, tea, and coffee machine . However, there is no kettle to boil water for the tea so you can’t make tea technically. However the breakfast room is nice and has good internet if you wanna do some work using your laptop.

Prices are affordable for the area. I recommend staying in the hotel mainly third floor suites.

Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Frühstück Continental Breakfast war ok. Zimmer sind sehr gut. Allerdings alles etwas hellhörig und der Parkettboden knarrt anscheinend in jedem Zimmer.

Lovely hotel. Basics, but that all you need.
Restaurant right beside it was 5 star. Then there is a cafe outside of the hotel which has very healthy options, I got a smoothie in a bowl.
Hotel, room was more than adequate, large wardrobe and bathroom. Very clean. Mini fridge in room. Everything was comfortable.
Room did not have a comfortable chair to sit in only a desk chair and the bed.
There were 2 steps down to the room from the bathroom, I didn't like that for accessibility reasons. ( I have a cane)
In room coffee maker but no services in the lobby. A tea coffee or hot wat are in the lobby would have bumped up my experience .
Overall great locations, easy access, rent a bicycle across the street.
Friendly staff. Two thumbs up.

We had an interesting stay at Hotel Chez Swann that started badly, but ended up being good. First, let’s start with the location. Can’t really beat it if you’re planning your stay around downtown. There were a few things that we discovered in the first day we stayed there that almost made us find a new place to stay. The water pressure was nonexistent and the television had no sound. The floorboards creaked pretty loudly to where we could hear when our neighbors took each step. We were pretty tired so we didn’t make a big fuss. Things got better the day after as the water pressure came back. The staff was nice and did their best to be courteous while providing personal space. The layout of the rooms are rather…unique. There’s a velvet curtain that separates the shower from the room. The curtain is inside the room. So…if you’re looking for a show as part of your experience this is the place for you. Light bites are included during breakfast hours. Because they don’t have a kitchen they provide simples drinks, pastries and cereal. No complaints, but there are plenty of breakfast options close by if you’re looking for something more substantial. Overall, setting up our base of operations here made it really convenient to get around as it’s in a really centralized location and that ALMOST makes up for the other issues. Come here for the location. Look for other options if you’re a light sleeper or need privacy.

This place wasn't so great... I mean other than the location and the free "continental breakfast" and the kind concierge, and the art deco... it was kind of noisy and besides that it wasn't really that clean either and there was no parking... parking was not free and you had to go up through the lobby of a very swanky and expensive hotel next door. Not a delightful first Montreal trip.

Fantastic unique hotel in a great location. Rooms were creative and oddly fun, like having a floor to ceiling window to the bedroom in the shower! Clean and well decorated in the common areas too. Nespresso machine in the room. Continental breakfast of yogurt, fruits, cereal, and excellent pastries was great.

Really artsy hotel with an authentic feel. Located close to most of what downtown Montreal has to offer. The breakfast was included and even though it wasn't the best possible breakfast (mostly carbs), it is always nice to get something to eat in the morning and to get a good cup of coffee. The most impressive thing about the hotel was the clear see through glasses from the bed into the shower (although possible to cover them). That is really something that can spark up a rendezvous! All in all a beautiful hotel with an authentic touch (creaky woodfloors, beautiful art pieces etc).

Hotel Chez Swann is conveniently located near the subway, retail stores and universities and provides good value for a reasonably priced accommodation option. Located near Peel Station, this hotel is a great spot for public transit with the bus stop for the 737 Airport Bus which is about a 10-minute walk. For those arriving by train, the Via Rail Station is approximately a 14-minute walk from the hotel. Despite the minor inconveniences and service-related issues encountered during the stay, it was not a bad experience overall.

Like most hotels, guests receive an access card for room entry, and the Wi-Fi password is conveniently provided on a paper strip inside the access card folder. The hotel follows standard hotel procedures, including requiring a credit card for deposits. The hotel provides a complimentary continental breakfast from 7 am to 10 am, offering a selection of pastries, cereal, toast, and coffee. The breakfast area is located in the lobby, opposite the front desk. However, guests should be aware that staff members sometimes ask in the morning which room number they are staying in.

During the stay, the room featured a king-sized bed, blackout curtains, and a decently-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. However, the TV placement was noted to be awkward and could have been better positioned in place of the walk-in shower's large window. Also, the rooms are not soundproof, and guests may experience noise from outside hallway activities, such as walking and cleaning.

One notable concern was related to housekeeping services. Despite each room having a letter indicating that no cleaning service would be offered during the stay and nobody would enter the room, a housekeeping staff member entered the room without knocking. While waiting at the door, the staff member was insistent on cleaning and checking for garbage, despite the guest's request for no service. Note: place the "no service" sign on the door to avoid this scenario.

J’y ai séjourné quelques jours pendant ma recherche d’appartement à Montréal, les chambres sont spacieuses, petit coup de cœur pour leur salle de bain dans certaines chambres qui ont 2 douches ce qui est parfait pour les amoureux ! Les prix sont très corrects pour l’emplacement (a deux pas de Sainte Catherine et de McGill) et le personnel est très sympathique dans l’ensemble ! I love this hotel and stay here every time I'm in Montreal for business or pleasure. I need to visit different neighborhoods throughout the city and it's central location makes getting around very easy.

There are plenty of bars, restaurants, parks and shopping that you can easily walk to.

The hotel is small but the rooms are on the bigger size and are always clean and very funky.

Alessandro at the front desk provides great service, like all of the employees, and is always ready to accommodate.

My only criticism would be that the water pressure in the shower is a little weak. Considering all the positives, I can deal with it.

Hotel is decent and located in a good area, close to shopping and Mount Royal.

Would rather stay at a holiday inn which has better rooms and service. First day, there was no water during the night, followed by no hot water to shower. The pressure in the shower was so low that it takes 5 mins to wash the shampoo out. The bed linen had a long black skid mark on it. Asked for housekeeping twice and still did not receive it the next day. The only positive is the location.
