I stayed 4 nights there for concert last August. For a single and didn't spend so much time at room, it was fair enough for me. Staff were helpful as well.

Very simple but some rooms are incredibly spacious! The beds and pillows were fine, the room was clean. The industrial fans helped with the heat wave. It’s a big place so you can get lots of exercise just getting to your room!

Many different washrooms in various states of updating, so look around for one that suits you.

It’s a great location, and parking is available nearby at reasonable rates for long term stays.

Nous n'y avons passé qu'une seule nuit et heureusement. Sortie de l'ascenseur 2 grosses bennes remplis de linge de lit à nettoyer qui attendaient là. Salle de bain commune salle, délabrée et nauséabonde. Manquait une porte d'un WC qui était bouché en plus.
Literie correcte.
Avec la fenêtre ouverte un bruit énorme de groupe climatiseur continu toute la nuit.

Hostel-style residence in a historic Grey Nuns building that is now a Concordia residence hall. Check in was quick and easy, you cannot beat the rate you pay for how central you are to everything. An easy walk from the Metro station on Guy.

My single room was spacious and had a great view. Be sure to open up the windows and take in the city. The room has a mini fridge, sink and a large desk. No AC here which should be obvious when booking. The provided fan was more than enough to keep the room cool, although temperatures outside were mild during my summer stay. The building is gigantic and it may be a bit of a walk in and out depending on where your room is.

The bathrooms are communal and numerous- the bathrooms were definitely the most dated part of this place and could badly use a modern renovation to make them more roomy and accessible. Be sure to bring your own soap and shampoo as they are not provided.

Parking is *not* provided despite what some websites say. Street parking in front of the building is time limited and pricy. I would recommend not bringing a vehicle if you can avoid it. If you must park, the Concordia FB garage next door is safe and a relative value compared to the rest of the area at $18.50 CAD a night.

The property is gigantic and has a beautiful courtyard- I recommend asking a staff member how to get there as it’s a little bit of a maze. While staff were for the most part very friendly and helpful, I did run into one security guard who wasn’t the friendliest and forced me to stand and watch him explain how to close a door that I hadn’t left open. It was a bit of an uncomfortable encounter, especially given the language barrier. Some quick Google searches show that this is a problem that students encounter sometimes as well.

Overall the Grey Nuns is a phenomenal value and a comfortable stay as long as you’re expecting more of a hostel and not a luxury property. I will definitely stay here again in future trips to Montréal.

First off, know that if it's hot, there is no air conditioning. Otherwise, it's spartan and institutional but clean and quiet and secure. It's in a historic building right in the middle of a busy shopping and restaurant district. I recommend the Korean Chicken place across the street (Coqcor).

Pretty good value, no AC, bare bones accommodations, can't beat the price and location.

It's student accommodation, but priced accordingly. Generous sized rooms but shared bathroom facilities. Good location.

Terrible place.

Ubicación excelente, se puede llegar a pie a todos los atractivos turísticos. La habitación es austera, cómo se ve en las fotos, pero mas grande de lo que esperaba e incluyo ventilador y frigobar. El personal es amable, nos permitieron hacer el check-in antes de horario, con la mejor predisposición.

No tiene lujo, pero es limpio, lindo y probable el alojamiento más económico que vayas a conseguir en Montreal por este precio

Puh, die Zimmer heizen sich gerade im Sommer sehr auf. Es macht fast keinen Unterschied ob man Zimmer zum Westen oder Osten raus nimmt. Jedoch scheint die Sonne auf die Ostzimmer ab Mittag nicht mehr.
Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, nur Ventilatoen. Das muss aber nicht in allen Zimmern sein.
Es gibt an der Sauberkeit nichts zu meckern und bewacht wird das Gebäude auch.

Sehr heiße Zimmer, super günstige Lage, sicher, Parkmöglichkeit im Parkhaus nebenan.

I stayed here during my summer internship at concordia university. The amenities are good too! It is approximately 5 mins from the university and the guy concordia metro stop. Makes traveling easier. It is also closer to some of the good fast food and restaurants nearby. Mcd is 9 mins from the residence. Good choice especially if you plan on doing a summer internship and looking for a stay, as they have good long term stays option.

The room was clean. But the washrooms and showers were not clean, and it did smell bad. :(

I stayed for a week for a conference. The rooms are super loud. Walls are paper thin. I won’t be coming back.
UPDATE - I demoted my ranking to 1 star, because I haven't been able to obtain a receipt for my stay. Their front office was closed the evening before my departure and I had to leave at 5am to catch my train, so it was closed that morning again. I have emailed them twice to ask for it, with no answer.

Felt like in a prison. Very poor facility. Spent as little time as needed in the room. Bathrooms were not that clean as I would expect for 90 CAD per night (doublebed room with shared bath). No possibility to store luggage so we had to carry our luggage the whole day! Would not recommend! Never again.

BEDSHEETS FULL OF HAIR - hadn't been changed. Room was still occupied by someone when we went in.

Disliked · 1. Checked in at 6 pm-ish, got the keys, and surprise! the room was occupied by someone else
2. They said they will clean the room in 20 min and take that person's stuff out (the girl was supposed to have checked out the day before, they didn't know what happened)
3. Came back one hour later, girl was in the room packing up, we waited another half hour
4. After girl left, we asked if they changed the bedsheets. They said YES, they had cleaned the entire room earlier that day, the girl was just given the wrong key, and she hadn't used the room (story changed). Anyways, garbage was still in the room.
5. Checked the bed sheets: FULL OF HAIR everywhere, on the bedsheets, under the blanket, on/under pillows. Went down to reception to tell them. They insisted the bedsheets had been changed, but gave us a set of clean ones anyway. By now it was 10.30 pm and we were super tired, just wanted to go to sleep.... VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE

Outstanding location and great budget option during for a couple night stay during the summer. It wasn’t fancy but totally acceptable for the price. There were two toilets for our floor but they were clean. The beds came with sheets which were clean. I don’t think they wash the blanket on top of the sheets in between guests

Very basic, convenient for location and price. Was annoyed I wasn't allowed to use the loo when I came back to get my luggage in storage.
