Our server Jorge was amazing. He was actually running around trying to keep on top of the orders. The manager (Mark) hardly helped at all. He just seemed to slowly wander around and not really help many customers at all. A very disappointing experience, especially for one that cost so much. Our food was cold, parts of the order were forgotten and getting another beverage was impossible. We felt very sorry for Jorge; he deserves to be treated better

Food was great. Was a little ticked off that the server (or maybe restaurant policy) automatically adds a 20% tip for a party of 5 (two of which were kids under 10).
Nevertheless, good food, the server was good, but the service automatic fee is odd. That

This is a good place to eat if you have never tried Asian food in Asia before. Else, I personally think the food is not that great. I tried the best selling dumplings. The fried base is done well, and that's it. The ground pork inside is too bland, with a finely grounded texture from ground pork, which doesn't compliment the overall experience. On top of that, there is little to no soup inside the dumplings, which basically takes half of what this dish has to offer away. The second one I tried was the pecking duck. This is a weird way of doing this. By adding the duck and cucumbers inside a dough with the sauce added in from the beginning, both the dough and the cucumber go soft due to the sauce, making the overall bite lose its crunchiness, which is needed when you eat a soft and bland meat like duck. The sauce was not put on the duck meat, making it extremely bland to eat - I recommend putting the sauce separately, so people can dip in and have the amount they want.
I give overall service 4 stars despite the people there being super nice and helpful. I came in eating by myself, and I ordered two dishes above, which were too much for one. I ended up packing half of the food home. But when I asked if the portions were too much for one, the waiter said this amount was very okay. The bill for me was almost 80 bucks at the end. I am not complaining because I came here to try the food but I wish the waiter could have been more observant.

Staff super friendly. Spend your money on food elsewhere though. Nothing special, over priced, quality not great.

Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations prior coming here for dinner tonight, the food we ordered really fell flat. These were not authentic Chinese food by any stretch, nor yummy.

This was the best dim sum I've ever had in my life, and we have good dim sum in Seattle. I loved how they seem to have baked some of the dumplings off, giving it a discernable texture instead of just being soggy dumplings.

A friend of ours who used to be a local said this is the place to go for dinner, so after getting into San Fran, we dropped our bags off at the hotel and walked right over! Honestly, I was surprised there was a wait at the door on a Wednesday an hour before closing - and everyone around us was saying their name for a reservation. It seemed like it was strange to not have a reservation, because there was a lot of talking once we arrive. They had a nice spot at the bar for us tho! As just two, bar seating is always a good option so we were glad they could fit us in. They have an all you can eat style menu where you mark what you’d like and hand it to your server. We had a full day of food we didn’t get too much. The soup dumplings were some of the best I’ve had and I loved the duck. The drinks weren’t so bad and would probably be better if we haven’t had some insanely good drinks on our way up the state. Definitely a memorable experience.

The food was incredible. Loved the soup dumplings, pork dumplings, chow mein noodles, crushed cucumbers, and pots of tea. Everything was served family style, just how we love it. Highly recommend.

The food was amazing but the service was even better. I adored our waiter, Rafi. He gave great suggestions and seemed to really enjoy working there.

Visiting from DC but we would be regulars at this location if we lived locally. Delicious and delightful.

Stopped by for date night and loved the experience at China Live. The dim sum peking duck sliders and chow mein reminded me how flavorful and diverse Chinese food can be. The sesame ice cream and shaved mango ice capped off a perfect evening. Sesame ice cream has a peanut butter or hazelnut like taste. The restaurant is loud, casual, and active; chefs make dishes at stations throughout the restaurant for all to watch. Dishes come family style, and we took home enough for another meal. You order by marking items on the menu. Be sure to read the tip/service fee explanation.

First time at China Live. Jorge was a fantastic server. We arrived at an odd time, but it was perfect. Great menu. Great service. The food was really good. Young Master, Jade Scorpion, Green Peppercorn Pilsner?!?!?! I want a six pack! China Live is definitely on my favorites list, now.

Coming from Vancouver we had to try this famous restaurant. We have VERY good Chinese food in Vancouver and my expectations were high for China Live.

The server Raffi was amazing and friendly and helped us pick 6 courses for 3 people.

The food was just ok - we have been blessed by better dumplings etc at home - but the over all experience was just lovely.

We need an elevated dining experience like this back home, with our food.

The mango shaved ice was amazing though.

A solid place we've been to a couple times. Their food is fresh and I've personally found the service to be good. Crowded a lot though, but being crowded should be a sign that the place is well liked. And you have lots of choices in the City for Chinese, as you know. Good place.

My food arrived quickly. However it was way undercooked. The kids have taken a liking to it though. Even though I told them to not play with their food.

Okay, I don't want to let this secret out of the bag. Yet I can't hold water!
The hubby and I are foodies with allergies, and China Live, oh man...WOW it's amazing! They have something for everyone with allergies and without. The gluten-free options are so good, fresh, and perfectly seasoned!
The Chilean Sea Bass is a must-have! The Charred Broccoli! Crispy garlic chicken, Brussel sprouts, fried rice... Okay, so just order everything! You will not be disappointed.
They have the coolest staff ever. They all actually get along with each other (like a family, well maybe not like family ;-)), and they love working there.
The portions are filling, so bring a friend to share.

I came in here to try the duck buns that everyone raved about. I also had the soup dumplings and the chicken crispy noodle dish. The service was incredible and our server was one of the best I’ve had in awhile. The soup dumplings were great, like most soup dumplings you wish you had more. The crispy noodles were different since they were crispy and not soft like a typical lo Keon dish but it was fine. The duck buns were good. I wouldn’t say amazing but not bad either. The duck itself was cooked perfectly, but there wasn’t any other additive flavor body besides that. Overall it was a good spot and it is massive inside.
