Avis LE CIARUS Strasbourg

Wir waren als Gruppe im Hotel Ciarus in Straßburg. Das Hotel ist modern eingerichtet und insgesamt sauber. Besonders positiv war, dass jedes Zimmer ein eigenes Bad hatte – das war sehr praktisch, und die Bäder waren auch in gutem Zustand und die Dusche wirklich top angenehm. Die Betten waren bequem, und der Müll wurde regelmäßig aus den Zimmern entsorgt. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Außerdem gab es einen Wasserspender, an dem man sich jederzeit Wasser holen konnte – das fanden wir sehr gut.

Trotzdem gab es einige Punkte, die uns gestört haben. Die Zimmer waren etwas klein. Es gab keine Schränke oder Aufhängmöglichkeiten und auch keine Sitzgelegenheiten im Zimmer, was das Ganze etwas unpraktisch gemacht hat.
Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt war die Verpflegung. Beim Frühstück war die Auswahl recht eingeschränkt – es fehlten frisches Gemüse wie Gurken oder Tomaten, und es gab nur sehr begrenzt Obst (hauptsächlich Äpfel, Bananen und Melonen). Vor allem für vegan oder vegetarisch lebende Gäste ist das Angebot unzureichend: Beim Frühstück gibt es kaum veganen Optionen (außer Marmelade und Brot). Beim Abendessen gab es zwar immer ein vegetarisches Gericht, aber vegane Gerichte wurden gar nicht angeboten. Zudem war nur EIN Durchgang erlaubt (Frühstück und Abendessen) – Nachschlag war nicht möglich, was besonders ärgerlich war, wenn man nicht satt geworden ist. Auch beim Abendessen musste man sich zwischen Vorspeise oder Dessert entscheiden, was wir ebenfalls nicht optimal fanden.
Insgesamt ist das Hotel in Ordnung????????

On habite à côté, et toute l’année on se fait jeter des choses dessus par la fenêtre du matin au soir par les différents jeunes qui séjourne à cet hôtel, faudrait les encadrer

Lowkey Abendessen ist nicht gut sondern aufgewärmt wer zuerst kommt malt zuerst das nicht tuff so Type shit, so Kameras auf den Fluren passt auf Jungs und Mädels wenn ihr nachts in andere Zimmer geht werdet ihr mieß gejumped. Ich sag auch ehrlich beim Essen nicht mal die Glaßbehälter fürs Wasser sind frisch sondern gebraucht und werden nd gespült das ist übel eklig die Pommes sind nicht durch und absolut weich also nicht nehmen die liegen da schon ewig rum oder waren nicht lange genug in der Fritteuse. Die Zimmer sind lowkey Okey aber viel zu klein im Kreis drehen ist gefühlt unmöglich und die Betten sind übel hart man muss für alles zahlen was man macht und es ist alles übel teuer und für alles strafen das ist gar nicht entspannt also Overall so ne 1/10 oder so weil Mitarbeiter können nicht mal richtig englisch ist wirklich nen Kracher aber ja ich würde sagen passt auf die Kameras auf wenn ihr hier hin müsst mit eurer Klasse

My experience with this hotel was remarkable. I was able to heat up my own personal food, they allowed to preserve my food in their fridge for a night and gave us direction to out event destination. Samantha and team are lovely. You guys made our stay special. All that was requested for was sorted out quickly with no fuss. I will recommend to family and friends.

1.72025 es ist kochend heiß es gibt keine Klimaanlage in dem Zimmern Mann schwitzt sich kaputt fürs schlafen ganz sicher nicht geeignet für Menschen und in meiner Bettwäsche waren Käfer zu sehen.|Dann bin ich mal kurz um 23Uhr rausgegangen und der sogenannte Nachtwächter kam und gab mir eine Strafe von 100€ wegen Ruhestörung das Essen war komplett Unsinn es war nicht gut viel zu wenig das Personal war unfreundlich ich empfehle es nicht weil man einfach nicht gut Schlafen kann weil es kein gutes Essen gibt und weil das mit dem Nachtwächter echt übertrieben ist Nachtwächter.

Notre groupe scolaire, composé de 70 élèves (âgés de 11 à 13 ans) et de 7 enseignants, a séjourné au Ciarus Hostel à Strasbourg la semaine dernière, et nous n'aurions pas pu rêver d'une meilleure expérience ! Du début à la fin, le personnel a été incroyablement accueillant, patient et professionnel, veillant à ce que notre grand groupe soit à l'aise et bien pris en charge.

Les installations du Ciarus Hostel étaient parfaitement adaptées à nos besoins : propres, spacieuses et sûres. Les chambres étaient bien agencées et les espaces communs offraient aux élèves de beaux espaces de détente et de convivialité après une journée bien remplie à explorer la ville. L'emplacement était idéal, à quelques pas des principales attractions de Strasbourg, ce qui a facilité et facilité les excursions quotidiennes.

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la flexibilité et l'adaptation du Ciarus Hostel aux horaires et aux besoins spécifiques de notre groupe. L'ambiance positive et conviviale a créé un environnement idéal pour nos élèves, et les enseignants étaient rassurés de savoir que tout le monde était dans un endroit sûr et accueillant.

Globalement, le Ciarus Hostel a rendu notre voyage scolaire agréable et mémorable. Nous le recommandons vivement à toute école ou groupe de jeunes visitant Strasbourg.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe Schülerinnen im Ciarus. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, das Haus ist sauber, hell und freundlich. Die Lage ist durch die Nähe zum Bahnhof und zur Altstadt wirklich toll. Bei den Mahlzeiten dürfen die Gäste leider nicht selbst die Portionsgröße wählen, das hätten sich unsere Schülerinnen sehr gewünscht.

Good hostel, the beds are very comfy and they have everything for you. They will even change towels for you daily.

So geht Hotellerie für alle! Ein sehr überzeugendes und engagiertes Ho(s)telprojekt der reformierten Kirchen in Strasbourg mit einer langen Geschichte für den sozialen Zusammenhalt. Sehr faire Preise, Sauberkeit in den Zimmern und in den einladenden Räumlichkeiten ist top, überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeitende und ein feines Frühstück mit vielen frischen Zutaten. Gerne wieder. Chapeau!

Report on My Stay at the Ciarus Hostel in Strasbourg||I recently stayed at the Ciarus Hostel in Strasbourg during a school trip. It’s clear that the facility is designed to accommodate school groups: there are several lounge areas, a canteen, an outdoor courtyard, and two vending machines with snacks and drinks—perfect for enjoying a break while chatting with friends.||We had dinner at the hostel on two occasions, and I was fully satisfied with the meals. You could choose either a starter or a dessert, along with one of the main course options. The portions were more than generous, so I never felt the need to ask for seconds—though I believe that wouldn’t have been a problem. As for drinks, there were several water stations where we could fill up our carafes with still water.||One small note about breakfast: it might not meet the expectations of those who prefer savory foods or don’t typically eat fruit in the morning. There was a wide selection of fruit, endless plain yogurt, pancakes that could use some improvement, orange juice, the usual sausages found in most hotel breakfasts, and, of course, scrambled eggs. However, for those like me who really enjoy scrambled eggs, the quality might be a bit disappointing. Aside from that, everything else was more than acceptable.||We were shown several recreational areas, including rooms equipped with pianos. Unfortunately, during our stay, some of these rooms were closed due to renovation work.||After 10:00 p.m., a curfew is enforced, and complete silence is required. In our case, since we were accompanied by teachers, we were only allowed to leave our rooms if one of them was present. At night, a patrol is carried out by a night security team. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with this team that I feel deserves to be mentioned.||On our last night, my classmates and I were chatting late with our teacher. Although it was well past 10:00 p.m., no one said anything since we were with him. When I returned to my room and was about to enter, I heard a knock at the door. Upon opening it, I found a member of the night patrol who asked if I had been running in the hallway. Caught off guard, I answered in English that I hadn’t. The man looked at me suspiciously, began speaking to me in an overly familiar tone—which I had not invited—and started raising his voice, saying he had seen me running in the hallway and then entering my room. He then told me I had to pay a fine.||The fine for disturbing the peace at night was €100—a completely disproportionate amount, especially for a youth hostel. I looked at him and firmly repeated that I hadn’t done anything. Still, he continued making accusations in an increasingly aggressive tone. Since I’m not used to these types of confrontations, the situation caused me to have a panic attack, to the point that I couldn’t even speak.||Eventually, my teacher intervened, and after discussing what had happened, everyone agreed that I had done nothing wrong. Still, the night patrol insisted I had broken the rules and deserved the fine. To prove it, they showed us the security camera footage. We watched a full minute of footage in which I did not appear at all, while other people could clearly be seen—some behaving appropriately, others not. Once it was confirmed that I was completely innocent, I was allowed to return to my room.||Conclusion||Overall, the Ciarus Hostel in Strasbourg proved to be a well-equipped facility, ideal for hosting school groups thanks to its shared spaces, generous meals, and solid organization. However, the unpleasant incident involving the night patrol significantly impacted my personal experience. Being wrongly accused, confronted with disrespectful behavior, and exposed to an unnecessary emotional burden overshadowed the otherwise positive aspects of the trip. I believe that a hospitality establishment—especially one aimed at young people—should handle delicate situations with professionalism, calm, and fairness, so that every guest feels safe, respected, and properly welcomed.

Déplacement avec un groupe de 58 personnes dont 53 élèves âgès de 16 ans pour une semaine, à Strasbourg. Cette structure est parfaite pour séjourner avec un groupe d'élèves , son emplacement , son cadre , sa proprété, sa sécurité, sa cuisine et son accueil. Merci à toute l'équipe du Ciarus pour son professionnalisme!

Great room… if it weren’t for the lack of AC and extremely humid rooms. It was so hot I sweat all night, especially because my roommates shut the windows, but even if they were open it would’ve still been extremely hot. Had to get a key to open the windows as well. I liked that there were two bathrooms for the 6 person rooms though.

Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber das Abendessen war leider jeden Tag fast identisch – wenig Abwechslung.

Der soziale Kontakt wird stark eingeschränkt: Selbst leise Treffen nach 22 Uhr sind verboten. Auf den Fluren gibt es Kameras und Nachtpersonal, das aktiv kontrolliert. Wenn man nach 22 Uhr auch nur kurz das Zimmer verlässt, droht sofort eine Strafe von 100 €.
Da fragt man sich: Soll man sich lieber alleine mit dem Handy beschäftigen, statt sich mit anderen auszutauschen?

An sich ist das Haus schön und gepflegt, aber die Atmosphäre ist sehr streng und fast schon überwachend. Für Klassenfahrten oder Jugendgruppen daher nicht zu empfehlen.

Le CIARUS est vraiment top ! Nous y sommes allés dans le cadre d'un voyage scolaire en MFR. Bien situé, le lieu est très agréable et propose de nombreux services. Le personnel est charmant, à l'écoute et disponible. La restauration est impeccable, copieuse et savoureuse. Si je retourne à Strasbourg, je sais où aller !

Nous avons passé 4 jours avec nos élèves français et le groupe d'élèves allemands dans le cadre d'une rencontre en tiers-lieux sur le thème du développement durable. La situation est centrale et parfaite pour visiter Strasbourg et faire réaliser aux élèves des missions/rallyes. Le personnel est très serviable et arrangeant et trouve rapidement des solutions, les chambres sont confortables et très propres, le buffet est varié et délicieux (les élèves ont adoré). Les nuits sont calmes grâce à un cadre clair et bienveillant. Les locaux permettent réellement de rassembler les élèves pour leur donner des consignes et la salle de conférence louée était hyper bien équipée pour pouvoir travailler le matin.
La seule chose que nous avons moyennement apprécié furent les paniers-repas proposés car il était difficile de donner 1 seul choix pour tout le groupe par jour.
Je recommande le CIARUS pour ce type de projet.

Je suis venue avec 2 classes d'enfants de 7 à 9 ans et l'organisation a été parfaite.
Les chambres étaient prêtes l'accueil nickel et la restauration généreuse.
C'est la troisième fois que j'organise mes voyages scolaires là bas et j'y reviendrai c'est sûr.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au CIARUS au mois d'avril avec un groupe scolaire. Tout le monde au CIARUS était très chaleureux et accueillant. Les chambres étaient impeccables. On a vraiment profité du séjour au CIARUS.

A school trip to remember!

The location of the hotel was quite good, and that's where the positives end. Now come the negatives, so get ready, it might be long.

Firstly, there were cameras in the hallways, and if you left your room after 22h you had to pay a 150€ fine, but we'll get back to that later. There were also various other fines that would be charged for minor inconveniences.

There was a man (that we'll call "Hannes" for the sake of the story) looking at those cameras and was making some concerning moves during the 2 nights that we spent at the pris- hotel.
To set some context, on our first night we had been hearing some commotion outside our room around 22:30, after bed time. We then opened our door a few times because we wanted to see what was happening. We then saw people running across the hallway a couple of times, but decided that we didn't want to have any part in this and didn't step foot out of our room. Around 23:30 this man that had been looking at the cameras for probably the entire night came up and knocked at our door. He informed us that he saw us opening the doors on that cameras, to which we replied that we were just looking at what was happening outside of our room. Hannes denied this fact, blatantly lying and telling us that he DIDN'T see anyone else in the hallway, threatening us with a fine if we opened the door again. We accepted the threat with grace but were still concerned about the man that was clearly lying in front of us.
We then proceeded to look under our door to see what Hannes was doing. We saw him walking through the hallway every 15 minutes and got very concerned, because it was already midnight by this time. The first night ends with a weird encounter, where for some reason we see Hannes getting on his knees and putting his head on the floor to watch us from under our door. We were very concerned and scared so we decided to just go to bed, hoping that he wouldn't give us a fine for breathing air or something.
The second night was different to the first one, in many ways. It all starts at 22:00 where, after getting permission from our teachers, our class got together in one room to play a game. The only condition was that we wouldn't be too loud, and there was a teacher in the room next to the one we were in who later confirmed he didn't hear anything. The only semi-mistake we made was that we invited people from another school to the room to talk to them. When we decided to go back to our room at 23h something weird happened. Hannes was standing in front of our room, waiting for us. Why? I guess we'll never know. Even though we shouldn't have been in that room, we didn't make any noise and didn't disturb anyone. How long had that man been standing there?
Hannes then proceeded to threaten us with a 150€ fine if we touched our door again. He then decided to wake up our professor from his sleep and bring him to our room. Hannes then told our teacher that our behavior was unacceptable and lied that we had been looking under our door at the other people walking around. This was a direct contradiction to what he said before, when he said that we were the only ones opening our door.
That's about it for the service, this hotel is lucky that I can only go down to 1 star.

Secondly, when it comes to the food, I can't complain too much, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that in the evening you can take a starter or a desert, not both. I guess they don't want us getting fat or something.

Thirdly, the rooms themselves looked good, but I'm not too sure if that's the only thing they care about. It looked like all the rooms were cheaply renovated and they wanted you to accidentally break something so that you'd have to pay for it.

In conclusion, the hotel is not good, but if you visit it on a day where Hannes isn't working it might only be below average. The only saving grace is that it's in a very good location. That technically makes sense because it looks like they want us to stay out of the hotel, but if we do that we get fined...

Le service était tout simplement inacceptable. Il nous était interdit de sortir de notre chambre après 22h, ou même d’ouvrir la porte après ce couvre-feu. Un employé, qui nous a vu via une caméra positionnée en face de notre porte, est monté jusqu’à notre chambre pour nous prévenir qu’une amende de 150 € nous serait infligée si nous ouvrions encore la porte. Ce même employé a ensuite fait des rondes pendant 15 à 20 minutes à notre étage pour vérifier si nous l’ouvrions à nouveau. Cet établissement, à cause de ces nombreuses restrictions, ressemble plus à une prison qu’à une auberge…
Les chambres étaient assez convenables avec une bonne hygiène; cependant il y avait une étiquette de vêtement collé au mur. Les repas étaient bons (pour une auberge), au moins ça…
En conclusion, bien que l’auberge soit correcte en soi, le service et les règles extrêmement strictes, accompagnées de sanctions, ont empêché de profiter pleinement de notre court séjour à Strasbourg. Je déconseille vivement cet établissement.

Nachts kann man kaum schlafen, wegen der Hitze und es kommen andauernd laute Geräusche vom Fluhr. Man wird gestalked über Kameras. Nicht für Schüler zu empfelen, da das Personal einem Nichts durchgehen lässt. Man wird konstant bedroht eine hohe Geldsumme zu bezahlen bei jeder kleinsten Sache. Das Hostel wird versuchen diese ERLICHE Rezension zu löschen, da hier keine Kritik erwünscht ist. Das Hostel sollte die Kritik annehmen und sollte probieren den Aufenthalt so gut wie möglich zu gestalten. Kuss und Gruss.

Nous avons été très déçus par notre séjour. Après 22h, il nous était interdit de quitter notre chambre, ce qui était très contraignant. Des caméras nous surveillaient, et on nous a menacés d’une amende si nous sortions après cette heure. Cela nous a mis très mal à l’aise et ne correspond pas du tout à ce que l’on attend d’un hôtel. Je ne recommande pas cet établissement à ceux qui recherchent un séjour paisible et respectueux.

Da war ein Typ der um 11 Uhr Nachts unter meine Tür geglotzt hatt, später stellte sich heraus dass es ein Security Mann vom Hostel war. Sehr respektlos und pervers hauptsächlich wenn man bedenkt dass dort nur Jugendliche schlafen.
