Fantastic hotel. Exceeded expectations |The rooms were lovely, the staff was great, and a nice breakfast. Unfortunately we were only there one night but would have like to stay longer. A great home base for visiting Normandy. Much more attractive than the photos

This hotel was beautiful, and the staff could not have been more helpful. First class accommodations and service. Everything from the wonderful breakfast, beautiful guest rooms and the team that runs the Hotel were wonderful. My husband and I were so well taken care of. The location was perfect for meeting the tour bus and shopping the beautiful streets of Bayeux. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

Villa Lara is a first class operation. It is a lovely, quiet and cozy home away from home and its employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast, unfortunately, was somewhat disappointing, especially given the cost. One would do better walking across the river to the bistro about a block away.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location to explore Bayeux. The staff were friendly and helpful, arranged all our dinner reservations which were amazing. The hotel rooms were not only stunning but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many options.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Lara for 3 nights. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Wonderful staff - especially Muriel. Great restaurant recommendations/reservations made for us. Immaculate rooms. Fantastic, walkable location to shops, restaurants and pick up points for D-Day beach tours. Highly recommend Hotel Villa Lara. If (when) we return to Bayeux, the Hotel Villa Lara will be our top choice for a hotel!!

Great hotel. Excellent location, a short walk from the cathedral, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and the shopping streets. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. The breakfast is very good. Free parking. And above all the service of the staff: our rental car wouldn't start. The receptionist called the rental company and waited on the line for many minutes for a rescue team to be sent. In the meantime, the hotel staff arranged cables and charged our car so we could continue our trip.

Hotel Villa Lara far exceeded our high expectations. I had researched where to stay in Bayeux, HVL came in as the top hotel and was then recommended by our Travel Group. The rooms are large, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. If possible, the staff exceeds the accommodations! There was nothing we asked for that wasn’t immediately accommodated. In particular, Julian went above and beyond to insure that we had the most perfect visit. He also makes an excellent martini! Don’t miss the breakfast,it is everything a French breakfast should be.

Villa Lara is ideally located and provides a luxurious dignified place to relax and enjoy the Bayeux experience. Our room was beautiful with a fantastic view. As noted in previous reviews, the staff is very attentive to their guests needs. I would particularly like to single out Julien and Capucine for their help in giving us an outstanding experience.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Lara for three nights. Our tour company selected it for us and we were very happy with our experience. The room was large, clean, comfortable and well provisioned. The front desk and all the people were very nice and helpful. The location is perfect. We were steps away from everything in Bayeux and perfectly location for our tours of Normandy and Mont Saint Michael. Pillows were perfect by the way. I slept very well on the comfortable bed.

Hotel Villa Lara certainly deserves the accolades of the previous 5 star reviews. The associates that greet you and cater to all your needs are exemplary. We were welcomed as though this was our 20th stay rather than our first. When coupled with the comfortable rooms, well appointed public spaces and convenient location, this is one of the finest hospitality experiences in our travels. Many thanks to Muriel, Julian and the rest of the hosts for making our stay outstanding.||Our only regret was not allowing for an extra day or two to enjoy the property and spend more time in Bayeux.

Notre séjour dans ce charmant hôtel intime au cœur tranquille du centre historique de Bayeux était chaleureux, confortable et convivial. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et copieux, le personnel sympathique et serviable. Nous transmettrons ce conseil à tous ceux qui souhaitent voyager en Normandie, visiter les plages du Débarquement et, sans oublier, le site classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO « Tapisserie de la Reine Mathilde ».

I am oftentimes in Bayeux, and everytime I stay at Villa Lara. Best location, but most importantly you arr welcome there like of you were home. The staff is truly incredible. Very high quality of service as well as friendly. Definitely best hotel of downtown Bayeux!!

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights. The experience was exceptional. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful.
We ad an issue with the bathtub and the front desk person took care of it herself. The room was clean and spacious. The location is great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We only went for a cocktail in the bar. The bar was really nice and peaceful after a day touring. Barman was very friendly and knowledgeable with the cocktails. It was very expensive though.

Le plus bel hôtel de la ville. Nous avons fait deux séjours dans ce magnifique établissement. Le personnel est exceptionnel, très attentionné, ils aiment leur métier et leurs clients.
Nous avons essayé une suite et une chambre, très spacieuses, bien agencées, cela respire la qualité.
Bref un vrai 5 étoiles, nous recommandons vivement.

The hotel staff are amazing and do everything they can to make you most welcome. l've just visited Bayeux with a group of Americans on a battlefield trip around Normandy, and they chose to stay in the Villa Lara hotel for 2 nights, and I would recommend it to anyone else and I stay here again

One of my favorite hotels in the world. The rooms are gorgeous, the service is spectacular, the location is perfect. Muriel is one of the kindest and loveliest humans I have ever met. Overall, the only choice for a stop in Bayeux. I wish I’d stayed longer! Merci beaucoup for making this a memorable stay.

Avevamo conosciuto villa Lara nel 2016 e ci siamo tornati in agosto 24 avendo piacevole conferma dell’ottimo livello della struttura.
L’hotel si trova nel centro della bella cittadina vicino alle spiagge dello sbarco.
A villa Lara si è accolti in una dimora molto elegante con tanti tocchi originali. Camere grandi e superdotate. Tappezzeria pregiate ed altre finiture rendono il tutto estremamente accattivante. Parcheggio interno, personale molto cordiale, buona colazione servita in una bella sala. Villa Lara e’ un luogo che non si dimentica.

Dès l'arrivée, la visite à l'hôtel Villa Lara a été exceptionnelle. Le service est merveilleux. L'hôtel et les chambres sont vastes et confortables. Chaque chambre est un délice en soi (bien que l'on m'ait dit que quelques rénovations étaient en cours pendant les vacances d'hiver). La nourriture était délicieuse et les cocktails servis chaque soir au coin du feu étaient délicieux. J'ai même eu droit à un coup d'œil dans les spectaculaires chambres (appartements) de la Villa Augustine. WOW !

Cet hôtel est un joyau et l'un des points forts de notre voyage. Nous y avons passé deux nuits pendant que nous explorions la Normandie. Le personnel de l'hôtel était formidable. Ils nous ont aidés chaque soir à réserver un dîner et nous ont même suggéré des choses à voir en ville. L'hôtel est très bien situé pour visiter la ville à pied.

Je ne suis pas une adepte des commentaires. Cependant, si vous avez la chance de voyager en Normandie, la villa Lara est de loin ma préférée. Nous sommes de grands voyageurs et je n'ai jamais rencontré un personnel aussi dévoué. Chaque aspect de cet hôtel est de premier ordre. Tout simplement fabuleux. Lors de l'enregistrement, nous avons rencontré un couple de Boston qui a séjourné dans cet hôtel chaque année depuis son ouverture (à l'exception de Covid). Cela en dit long. CEPENDANT, pour moi, cette critique ne serait pas complète si je ne mentionnais pas mon héros, Philippe. Il est incroyable. Merci Philippe. Vous êtes un vrai gentleman.

Nous avons séjourné à la Villa Lara trois nuits au début du mois de novembre 2023. L'hôtel est situé au centre de la très charmante ville de Bayeux, mais aussi calme et paisible.||Notre chambre était bien aménagée et immaculée avec un lit très confortable et une salle de bain moderne.||Le meilleur de tous est le personnel qui était toujours prêt à aider et à fournir des informations très utiles - que ce soit où manger, les attractions touristiques ou l'aide avec n'importe quel type de réservation / réservation. ||Nous sommes très heureux de recommander la Villa Lara à tous ceux qui recherchent le meilleur hôtel de la région.

Le meilleur endroit pour séjourner à Bayeaux et le personnel le plus sympathique ! De belles chambres, des lits confortables et un petit déjeuner délicieux. L'emplacement est excellent et il n'y a qu'une courte promenade pour voir la tapisserie et visiter la cathédrale.

We stayed at three other hotels around France during an 11 day trip, but we always referred to this place as "the palace"...and for good reason. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
