The staff at this hotel made our honeymoon an enjoyable experience. The hotel was very historic and lacked a few modern amenities, but the service we received was exceptional. The staff was very accommodating with our schedule change as well. The hotel dog (Gloria) was very cute and hospitable as well!

Stayed with our son in a 2 bedroom unit which was beautiful. It was very large suite and gorgeous design, very upscale. My husband said wow this is fancy. Staff was very nice. We did not eat on site but they did have the breakfast option. We stayed here in order to visit both WW2 sites and also Mont Saint Michel and it was a good location for all of that. Restaurants and shops nearby.

Wonderful historic hotel. Owner and staff welcoming and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff helped us make restaurant reservations and taxi services. Their English is exceptional since my French is poor. Will stay there again when I’m in Bayeux!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The service, the ambiance, the courtyard… an unexpected gem, right off the main road. A triple room TRULY has room for three. While there is no elevator, there is chivalry and assistance with the stairs. I will return.

The word that springs to mind when thinking of this hotel is superb. Frederic is the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. The staff too are really pleasant and helped us with any queries we had. The breakfast was a delight in a beautiful setting. We had a very enjoyable stay and should we ever be in the area again would certainly seek out this hotel

Emplacement fantastique. Service sympathique. Magnifique jardin.

Excellent accommodations, hidden away in the middle of Bayeux. Old charming building with modern updates. Easy access to restaurants and site on foot. Free car park. Good optional breakfast. I would stay there again if I return to Bayeux.

During our families spring break trip to France, we stayed at Hotel d'Argouges in Normandy. It was by far one of the best hotels have stayed in. The hotel has beautiful garden and is perfect for taking a family photo in front of. Besides from that, the hotel offers a magnificent breakfast of french food baked fresh including pastries, meats and cheeses, madeleines, fruit, sausage, eggs, and a lot more. Additionally, the dining room along with all the other rooms preserved the looks of d'Argouges mansion! This hotel was amazing with very friendly staff who cared about you and wanted to make sure you had a great experience.

Great location, with a short walk to the restaurants and points of interest. Room was very quiet, with nothing to upset our sleep. Parking was free and some days very busy others almost empty.

A lovely, calm and service-dedicated place befitting the town so steeped in history and surrounding beauty from the first minute we arrived to the minute we returned to Paris. So glad we got to experience the grace and heart of Amaury, Aurore, Alexandrine and staff.

Upon arrival in Bayeux by train, my friend and I walked to the hotel. The walk took approximately 20 minutes, but we took it slow to aquaint ourselves with the town. The Hotel Argouges was set off of the main street and was stunning. There are many bakeries, restaurants, and pastry shops within walking distance. We were greeted by a kind gentleman at the front desk and proceeded to check in. There was no elevator, but it was only 2 short flights to our room on the 1st floor. Throughout our stay, it was peaceful and relaxing. Our window overlooked a beautiful garden. The room and bathroom was spotless. The hotel was built in 1734 and refurbished. The dining area was stunning, including a marble fireplace and tapestry filling one entire wall. Breakfast included coffee, juices, baguettes, croissants, meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, and more. |I must add, there was no safe in our room to lock up our money and passports, and no coffeemaker. These 2 amenities may be important to some, but really didn't matter to us. The entire staff made us feel welcome and were a great help with local directions and assisting with return train tickets to Paris.

Just left this beautiful place, can’t wait to visit again! Frederick and the staff are amazing, courteous and friendly. The hotel is nested right in the middle of the downtown of a Celtic village! This historic building is full of reminders of old tales and stories, breakfast is served in their beautiful dining room area. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. A GEM! Definitely worth the visit to this fantastic hotel! Thank you for your hospitality!

We stayed three nights in this historic and very delightful hotel, which is well situated for visiting all of Bayeux on foot. The staff are all very helpful, to the extent that when we arrived on a much-delayed train into a dark and deserted Bayeux station and were wondering how to find the hotel, we received a very welcome phone call from the receptionist, Eva, offering to send a car for us – she was monitoring our train – I think that’s pretty exceptional service. All the staff are wonderful, especially Gloria, who always looks genuinely happy to see guests arrive.||Our bedroom was large and airy. The public rooms of the hotel remain unchanged since the house was an aristocratic residence in the time of Louis XV. The 18th-century boiserie, marble fireplaces, and parquet floors are all maintained in excellent condition. The self-service breakfast has a wide variety of hot and cold foods and cannot be faulted. There are also many excellent restaurants close by. I would stay here again and strongly recommend it, perhaps in Summer when one could enjoy a glass of wine in the quiet and well-kept garden.

The people were super nice. The place was in a good location. The main spaces were lovely. The parking was very convenient and close. (AND FREE!) We reserved two rooms and were put in the annex. The annex rooms look nothing like the pictures that have high ceilings and lovely details. They are small and nondescript, lacking in refinement. I'm not sure how to get the rooms in the photographs but we certainly didn't have anything like that. I would have been content with the room if I had not been expecting something nicer as was advertised. Besides the unmet expectations, things were fine including a large and wonderful bathroom and a good heater for a cool night. Beds were comfy too.

We stayed at Hôtel d'Argouges in March 2025 and very happy we did. We arrived quite late as our train was delayed in its arrival to Bayeux. Nonetheless, we were greeted warmly by Eva who showed us our room and went out of her way to write down several nearby restaurants that were open late so we could have a late-night dinner. The room itself was very charming and spacious, and breakfast the next morning had a very good variety of quality foods (and also served in some very elegant rooms). The grounds outside are also very nice to take a quick morning stroll. A short walk to most attractions you'd want to see in Bayeux. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.

My family and I had a lovely stay at Hôtel d'Argouges! The property is gorgeous and has loads of charm. Staying there felt like stepping back in time! The rooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were very modern. We really appreciated the warm welcome of the hotel staff, and of Gloria, the resident beagle! It was a quick walk (or very fast drive) to the center of Bayeux. Overall, a great stay and would return!

Let’s start by saying any seasoned traveler understands the difference between a huge, corporate chain in a large city vs a historical building in a small one. So that said, the room was squishy, but doable; the bathroom was spacious but had an outdated wall hair dryer and not a lot of counter space (but the shower was more than ok). The room didn’t have air conditioning, so visitors in the summer be aware. Great location, charming building overall, and staff was friendly. Not sure I’d stay there again, but didn’t have a bad experience. (Although the staff opened the windows before we arrived and the next night the world’s largest spider was in our room — so shut the windows if they’re open!)

The hotel's location was very convenient, and the availability of parking was a great benefit. The rooms were comfortable, and although they were on the smaller side due to being in Europe, our room was more than adequate for the three of us. The cleanliness of the hotel was commendable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which was the best aspect of our stay.
