The accommodations at Hotel Le Bayeux were clean, nice, functional, had enough space to get the job done, the staff was always very nice and we would definitely stay here again. The room and the beds were comfortable, clean and our room had a walk-in shower which was nice and large. The staff was very helpful, and they found a memory card I had left behind under a bed and contacted me and asked me if I wanted them to send the card back to the US for me and I paid them the postage and they sent it back, which was nice. The breakfast was also nice and got us started both mornings. They also serve beer and maybe some small snacks which was nice to come back to on the afternoon we visited the WW2 sites at Normandy. We stayed the night’s of 5/21 & 5/22/25, and the hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the train station and was in a central area of Bayeux.

This hotel is clean and practical and conveniently located when visiting Bayeux. It is however very basic with no additional comforts, not even a glass or cup in the bathroom. The walls of the rooms are very thin and you can hear conversations and TV quite clearly. It was adequate but if going there again, I would try somewhere else.

Spent my last 2 nights here in France and was truly disappointed. After a difficult time trying to park the car in the ridiculous space offered we enter a shabby hotel. We paid up front and then went to our tiny room, at this stage I wanted to leave. There was no window in the room other than a velux. The roof sloped making it impossible not to hit you head when getting out of the bed. The breakfast was appalling and in a tiny room which was overcrowded. I was told there would be a healthy selection. This is clearly not the case. Any fresh fruit was completely overripe and therefore not eaten.

The room we had looked nothing like the photos. |Small & with a roof window and old tired fixtures & fittings.|The breakfast buffet was awful - unless you like cakes/brioche & a fruit bowl that has seen better weeks.|Paid parking was ... well, an experience I wouldn't want to have again. I recommend you are the last vehicle going in and that you reverse in too - you'll understand why.

We paid over £200 a night (including breakfast & parking).|This cost compared to wonderful 4☆hotels else where in France.|The room was very small with just a roof velux window (you couldn't see anything but the tops of trees & you couldn't open it wide if it rained). All fitting & furnishings were cheap and could do with replacing. The bed squeaked.|The bedding was OK, but the towels were thin, hard & virtually useless.|Breakfast was most definitely not healthy or appetising. The only fresh bread on offer was a baguette, although there were many cakes & flans. There was something resembling scrambled eggs and also some undercooked bacon.|The fruit was old and over ripe. |Now the car park. Not for the fainthearted - it was a side alley that was just wide enough for two cars to very slowly pass. You had to reverse in and park in a tight line down one side (5 cars maximum). Thus if you were at the back, you could have major problems getting your car out.|On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, and it was very close to the city centre

Great location, but very mediocre property. Hotel is located a short walk from town and from the train station, making it a great tourist location. Unfortunately, the hotel is dated, small and in moderate condition. We had a family room, which did have bunk beds for the kids (a nice feature). However, it was on the top floor of the hotel which featured a slanted ceiling, making an already small room feel claustrophobic. The only light source in the room came from a skylight (no real windows). The shower was small with just a handheld shower head. The ceiling in the shower also badly needed to be repainted. Locks on the doors were still physical keys, and very temperamental. This was especially concerning since keys were required on the internal side of the room to lock and unlock. In the states, this would absolutely have been a fire code violation. Overall, a very middling experience.

Our room on the second floor was outstanding. It was spacious. The bathroom was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely book a room in this hotel again.

Two rooms and both were incredibly musty and poor smelling. Breakfast ran out of common items and were never replaced. Staff nice and accommodating but overall just not a great place to stay and definitely poor value for money.

Staff was AAAmazing…..front desk and housekeeping staff could not have been more accommodating. Rooms were spacious and bedding was very comfortable. Parking was available but a tight squeeze for this driver so we opted for closeby public parking. Location was perfect for meeting up with our tour group to visit the Dday sights. Location was perfect also for strolling the town. Great stay!

A group of 10 cyclists, we stayed for 5 nights and overall enjoyed our stay. The hotel is quite basic, a bit old fashioned, but perfectly adequate and in a quiet location with off street parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location for walking into town (5 mins) but away from the hub bub.

Somewhat disappointing, but ok…especially if on a tight budget. Staff was friendly and the place was clean and the air conditioning worked well. Location good…just 3 short blocks from center of town/cathedral. Upper level rooms do not have a window…only a skylight. Otherwise, this is straight out of the 1970s! Things are kept up, but it really doesn’t look like any significant renovations since then. Unlike some reviews that complained of lack of hot water, shower did have hot water (not as hot as I like it, but not uncomfortable), but the shower was a pre-fab stall 75x75cm (29x29”) with plastic sliding doors that didn’t really close tight. Toilet in a separate room (with no sink, so you had to go out into bedroom and back to shower/sink room to wash hands). No closet (only a set of shelves with a bar that stuck out from middle on which you could hang things). Breakfast was just OK. Watery eggs, cold ham, a quiche that looked good…until you realized it was ice cold. Good coffee machine at breakfast (none in room)|Parking is just about non-existent. The hotel has 3 or 4 spots that can be reserved (if you know about them in advance), but if you don’t, then not much around…good luck (we got very lucky with a free lot half a block away).

Hard to reconcile the good reviews with our stay. I know what to expect at small European hotels but some basics were in short supply. We had a double room with a Queen and twin. While the twin mattress was fine, the queen mattress was an old, thin spring mattress that cratered in the middle. You could feel every spring. WiFi in the room was horrible and you had to adjourn to the lobby to have adequate connectivity. You could also hear plumbing noises every time a nearby room was using water. I would call this a below average 2 star hotel. ||We opted for the breakfast was actually was fairly descent and much better than a US holiday in express. Shower provided good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The location is good and in close proximity to the towns sights. Car parking is primarily on the street unless you can get hotel parking which 20 Euros/night

Nice hotel in a cute area. Walking distance to everything in Bayeux. The water temperature in my room was the only issue. Rooms were clean and staff was great.

A great little hotel, convenient to the train station and the towns sites. Breakfast is very good with tons of pastry choices along with correctly done scrambled eggs. Hallways are a bit noisy, which is as much an issue with the visitors than anything. Staff is unfailingly helpful and cheerful. You feel the warm welcome

Great location near Notre Dame and Tapestry and many restaurants. As an American used to larger US hotel rooms, mine was rather small with only a roof mounted window (skylight) and sloped ceiling on one side. I didn’t like how these still use an actual key but also you needed to use the key to lock yourself inside the room instead of simply turning a latch ( odd to me). I was with a group and several members complained they didn’t have hot water or intermittent hot water and heard another guest complain about same thing. They were not able to rectify this situation. My hot water was fine but the shower stall was extremely small and the handle and shower head were way too low making showering somewhat difficult. Breakfast was good but mostly French with breads and pastries as expected. They tried to prepare scrambled eggs and bacon but the eggs were very watery every day and the bacon seemed to be boiled. There was a lovely Canadian woman who worked the afternoon front desk and she very helpful. Dining area was tight, too but then again we were a large group (30+). I don’t recall seeing an elevator to the second floor but maybe it was on the other end, but it is an old building .There were only four parking spots on property, our bus parked a block or two away. Neighborhood felt very safe, Bayeux itself is wonderful.

This was my second time staying at Hotel Le Bayeux and I cannot recommend it enough. It is in a great location for a great price. We loved being within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and it was a great area to stay in for our Normandy Tour. We also enjoyed the hotel bar and breakfast that was offered. Will always recommend this accommodation.

Nice place. Hotel plumbing needs a bit of attention but friendly and we had a nice glass of the house red at close to midnight at a very reasonable price. On street parking and a small car park GRATUIT nearby. Good value hotel.
