We were very satisfied with our stay at the Au Loup Apartments. We found the descriptions provided on the website were accurate and the place was very comfortable. The apartment was roomy with a large bathroom and I appreciated the ease of contactless check-in and out. When a lightbulb was mistakenly broken during our stay the owner had it replaced immediately upon notification while we were out to dinner. Thank you for the attentiveness, we would certainly stay again.

This is a stately old mansion that feels like it's from another era. The location is great! I felt like I could teach out and touch the cathedral from our room.... Which was cozy and comfortable. We were well cared for, including a lovely breakfast with lots of choices. I recommend Le Castel for your trip to Bayeux.

Fantastic, cozy guesthouse. Perfect location for Bayeux and beaches/museums etc. Rooms are very clean and there is a wonderful relaxing atmosphere in the house. Silverin is a marvellous host. Welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is more than adequate. I highly recommend this guest house.

We were in a “superior room with cathedral view.” Very clean, spacious, quiet and yet so close to the town center. Severing couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful with helping resolve an issue for us. Check their website as also have other room options big and small. We would not hesitate recommending to stay there.

Spent three nights in this exceedingly comfortable and friendly Normandy mansion. The host speaks very good English and a fabulous breakfast. The beds were very comfortable a little more on the firm side. They provided you with multiple allergy, free pillows, soft or hard as well as additional blankets so if you think a down comforter is too hot, you can have a thinner but comfortable choice. I prefer to sleep with the fan and they offered several portable fans, which were fabulous. The showers were enclosed with great water pressure. We had a mini fridge in our room. The heated towel rack was always on. We had a large dual sink with plenty of space for toiletries. Our private deck had a magnificent view of the cathedral on which we enjoyed drinking our subpar French beer. The location made walking to fabulous restaurants very convenient. There is free parking diagonally across the street and if that lot is full, there is a gigantic lot almost behind this hotel with more than enough parking for just a small fee. The setting as well as the breakfast in the morning would make this a return stay if I’m ever back in this area. The rooms are more than spacious and we were traveling with our young son, they provided a very comfortable roll away single bed for 25 euros a night.

Posizione eccellente. Vicinissima alla cattedrale e all’arazzo di Bayeux. Abbiamo alloggiato in questa struttura invogliati dalle bellissime foto pubblicate su Booking. Diciamo che il fotografo è molto bravo.. la struttura è molto datata. Non c’è ascensore quindi se avete tanti bagagli dovrete trasportarli per uno o due piani! Le porte sono vecchissime di legno e hanno un vetro decorativo che fa passare la luce durante la notte, quindi se cercate buio totale per il vostro sonno non lo avrete. La moquette rende irrespirabile l’aria e abbiamo dovuto aprire la finestra per poter dormire. Note positive:
1) dalla finestra del bagno della camera 6 si vede la cattedrale (foto)
2) personale simpatico e gentile
Colazione scarsa.

Colazione e posizione ottima.
Consigliato.

Quattro stelle e non 5 perché il parcheggio era segnato come gratuito poi in realtà era a pagamento (9 euro a notte!)

Absolument une belle expérience! La jeune fille blonde nous a accueilli avec une douceur infinie ! Chambre très propre, équipée de tout ce dont une personne a besoin ! Petit déjeuner délicieux et copieux ! La fille était très douée pour m'aider avec la langue en parlant un anglais impeccable et lent pour que je puisse mieux tout comprendre ! Hautement recommandé!

This hotel is actually two properties, initially we thought the second property were attached but it is quite a hike away when you are splitting a family in to two spaces. Firstly, the "view" from the main hotel is not as it appears in the photos, that view is from the street, there is a large tree and other buildings that block the view. Secondly they are extremely small, the photographer did nice angles. The second property was a disaster. They are apartments which would be nice for a family but they are not safe. Atleast the one we saw. We booked for 3 adults and 1 children in the apartment. We were given an apartment with 2 rooms with 2 double beds. And 1.5 bath. This would have been fine if the second bedroom wasn't in an attic loft with steep stairs and no railing. Not to mention only finished in plywood. If anyone has to wake up at night to use the bathroom it could have been disastrous. We also asked to have the double bed separated as we were informed it could have 4 guests and we noted this, meaning we would need at least 3 beds. The owner said an adult can sleep with a child people do "stranger things". Ultimately it just wasn't worth the risk we found a new hotel and will have our travel insurance handle the rest of the situation. The women checking people in was nice enough so I did feel badly she got stuck in the middle but the owner of the property was very rude and unprofessional. There are several much nicer hotels in the area.

We were 2 couples, two rooms. The home was very clean and spacious. We were able to park our car in the hotel grounds. Location was amazing with views of the cathedral from the bedroom. Lovely communal breakfast with plenty of variety from local products. Two nights stay and would definitely return

Wonderful place to stay, right in the heart of everything. Severin was very helpful and a great host. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely horrible experience. Would have earned "0" stars, but needed at least to post. 1. TV did not work, contacted owner twice ...no response. 2. Sewerage smell emitting from bedroom wall( see image). 3. Smoke detector broken (see image). We could not stay there, we left after one night. Requested a refund for remaining nights (per website policy) refund was refused. BTW, the website images are nothing like the actual property. Be wear of this scam. Bayeux is a wonderful town. We will return, but not to "le Castel-AuLoup Bayeux at any cost!

Schönes, historisches Gebäude. Es gibt viele Details zu entdecken, wenn man sich im Haus umschaut. Allein die Eingangstür ist sehr sehenswert. Das Zimmer war eher spartanisch möbliert, aber das Bad war in Ordnung. Das Haus hat sehr viel Charme, ebenso wie die Hausdame. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, die Dame des Hauses ist um jeden Gast sehr bemüht. Das Frühstück war einfach, dennoch gut , aber so ist das eben in Frankreich. Wer Luxus und Komfort sucht, schaut sich besser in einem Edelhotel um. Wer aber ehrliche Gastfreundlichkeit und Herz sucht, und auf baulichen Charme und Charakter steht, der ist hier genau richtig.

This is a charming B&B. I'm so glad we found it! The home is old but that's part of its charm. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. The host is charming and makes everyone welcome. The breakfast has a variety of options. It is across from the cathedral and a few blocks from the tapestry and the main street with cafes and shops. It was also a good starting point for visiting the D-day sites. There is no elevator which could be an issue for some. This should not be overlooked!

Severin est très accueillante et sympathique (tout comme sa mère qui s'occupe du petit déjeuner certains matins). La maison d'hôtes est très propre. Severin nous a même réservé un dîner d'anniversaire à Honfleur, et nous a fait comprendre que ce serait une belle table (ce qui a été le cas). Nous y séjournerons à nouveau sans problème

Bien que l'appartement qui m'a été attribué soit très bien, il ne correspond pas à ce pour quoi je pensais avoir signé. Le site Internet était un peu trompeur car j'ai regardé les chambres listées sous Guesthouse Le Castel et j'ai choisi une chambre listée à cet endroit. Apparemment, toutes les chambres, qu'elles soient dans Le Castle ou dans leur autre propriété, se trouvaient dans cette même zone du site web. Cela aurait pu être plus évident si la communication de l'établissement avait été meilleure. J'avais posé des questions sur le parking et je n'ai jamais reçu de réponse (lors de ma réservation initiale). La confirmation ne mentionnait pas que j'allais séjourner spécifiquement à Au Loup - elle indiquait simplement l'adresse des deux propriétés et comme j'avais sélectionné ma chambre dans la section des chambres du Castel, je n'avais aucun doute que c'était là que je séjournerais. Le matin de mon arrivée, j'ai de nouveau posé des questions sur le parking et la possibilité d'arriver avant 15 heures - aucune réponse ; enfin, pas avant 15 heures et c'est à ce moment-là que la confirmation a indiqué Au Loup (que je pensais être situé derrière Le Castel). Ce n'était pas l'endroit où je voulais être et j'ai été très déçue. De plus, le courriel indiquait que je pouvais me garer dans la rue - mais la rue était remplie de voitures et j'ai dû me garer à environ deux pâtés de maisons. À ce moment-là, il commençait à faire nuit et j'étais seule, alors je n'étais pas contente de devoir traîner ma valise aussi loin. L'appartement était chaud et il n'y avait pas d'instructions sur le fonctionnement du thermostat. La fenêtre de la salle de bain donnait sur la façade de l'immeuble, ce qui n'était pas sûr si je la laissais ouverte toute la nuit (idem pour la fenêtre de la cuisine). Je n'avais pas réalisé que je devrais faire le ménage, sortir les poubelles, etc. Je pensais que j'allais prendre un petit déjeuner (car je pensais être au Castel). De plus, le wifi était horrible. Si vous voulez un appartement indépendant avec un mauvais wifi, je suis sûr qu'Au Loup répondra à vos besoins. Ce n'était PAS ce que je voulais ou ce à quoi je m'attendais.

Charmante chambre d'hôte dans un endroit idéal pour se rendre à pied à tous les sites de Bayeux ! Les matelas des lits sont un peu fermes mais le petit déjeuner gratuit du matin composé de croissants, céréales, pain, yaourt, fruits et café/thé était excellent pour commencer la journée !

En plus d'être très bien situé (à côté d'un grand parking public et très proche du centre ville), il est charmant, confortable (sa chambre est spacieuse, belle et donne sur le parc) et offre un bon petit déjeuner. Et le service de Séverine est très serviable et amical.
