Maison Velvet is a beautiful historical home in a quiet neighborhood inside the walls of the old city. Our room was spacious with a wonderful bed, gorgeous bathroom, and a sitting area right outside our door. Our friendly hostess, Maya, prepared an amazing breakfast every morning and helped us with planning for our day with maps, directions, suggestions, good places to eat, etc. This was my favorite stay in France!

????: The room size and furnishings were very nice. Breakfast was simple and a bit late, but when we requested other things and an earlier time, it was provided. Maya is a delightful person and was always ready to assist us..
????: We missed having a mini-fridge nearby and the possibility to make coffee and tea ourselves. There was a small sitting room, very charming, that could have been used for this purpose. Would have been perfect. Also, the neighborhood is not great, but it is not far to walk into the city center. The house itself is very nice..

????: Das Haus ist ein wunderbar charmantes altes Stadthaus mit hohen Decken und schönem Steinboden. Alles ist sehr elegant und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es ist zentral innerhalb der Stadtmauer gelegen und gleichzeitig sehr ruhig. Zu den kostenlosen Parkplätzen sind es nur 10-15 Gehminuten. Toll war auch die sehr leise Klimaanlage. Maya ist außerdem eine wunderbare Gastgeberin...

????: Stanza comoda e funzionale. La posizione era ottimale, a pochi minuti dal centro e a circa 15 minuti dal parcheggio gratuito fuori le mura. La proprietaria Maja è stata molto cortese e ci ha fornito molte utili informazioni turistiche in buon inglese..

????: Das Maison Velvet liegt perfekt in Avignon. Innerhalb der Stadtmauer, so dass man zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten wunderbar zu Fuß gehen kann. Zugleich nah an der Stadtmauer, so dass man mit dem Auto nicht in die engen Gassen der Altstadt fahren muss. Sonntags sowie von 19:00-9:00 kann man kostenlos parken, ansonsten sind die Preise gestaffelt (1h 1,20€ - 2h 3,20 ... bei mehr als 4h 35€!) Aber man findet bei Bedarf auch außerhalb der Stadtmauer fußläufig entfernt kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten. Auch per Bahn kann man gut anreisen, der Bahnhof ist keine 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.

Die Gastgeberin Maja ist super nett und hilfreich und löst jedes Problem, das lösbar ist. Sie spricht hervorragend Englisch, so dass unsere fehlenden Französischkenntnisse kein Hindernis waren, uns gut zu unterhalten und Tipps zur Tagesgestaltung oder zum Essen zu bekommen.

Das Frühstück war lecker, toll war, dass es jeden Tag auch frisches Obst gab.

Das historische Gebäude ist von innen ausgesprochen liebevoll eingerichtet und auch bei 39°C Außentemperatur noch angenehm temperiert. Dadurch läuft die Klimaanlage im Zimmer auch angenehm leise, um das Zimmer auf Schlaftemperatur zu kühlen..
????: Ein Fernseher auf dem Zimmer wäre schön gewesen, wir haben ihn aber nicht vermisst..

Tolle Lage innerhalb der Stadtmauer von Avignon. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind ohne Probleme fußläufig zu erreichen. Da keine Lokale in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft sind ist es sehr ruhig, trotzdem ist die sehenswerte Rue des Teintieres nur 200m entfernt, wo man sehr schön sitzen und etwas essen oder trinken kann.
Die Zimmer sind sehr hübsch eingerichtet und großzügig.
Die Vermieterin ist ausgesprochen engagiert und hilft bei allen Wünschen und Fragen gerne weiter. Sie spricht hervorragend Englisch, so dass man keine Französisch-Kenntnisse benötigt.
Lediglich die Parkmöglichkeiten sind etwas eingeschränkt, Sonntags und von 19-9 Uhr kann man kostenlos vor der Tür parken, ansonsten sollte man sich etwas außerhalb der Stadtmauer suchen. Ab 4 Stunden kosten die Parkplätze innerhalb der Stadtmauer 35€!

We had such a pleasant stay at Maya's B&B. Her beautiful home is tastefully decorated and sits on a quiet street in a good location. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Maya is a kind and gracious hostess. She helped us with our travel plans while staying there for six nights. It was the perfect home base for taking day trips as the train station is within easy walking distance. So glad we chose Maison Velvet for our stay in Provence!
