Such a great spot! The Japanese chef really knows how to bring out the best in every ingredient. Everything was super fresh and carefully prepared.

The gazpacho was so refreshing and full of flavor, and the duck steak was juicy and perfectly cooked. Loved the wine too — clearly chosen with care.

If you’re in Nice and want a relaxed but high-quality French meal, definitely check this place out.

We are locals from the Cote d'Azur and after trying so many restaurants from Cannes to Valbonne to Nice, L'Eau de Vie is our absolute favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and seasonal and just hits the spot every single time! The prices are very honest and the owners are lovely.

The experience is actually okay except the French-only menu. However, I had bad stomachache after eating the beef there. It was until midnight that I threw up.

I visited this restaurant last summer and was eager to return during my current trip to Nice. Once again, I was greeted by the lovely owner and heartwarming service. The food was absolutely gorgeous, with fabulous presentation and expertly crafted flavours. Every dish was a delight to the senses. Highly recommend!

The owner was rude to me and asked me to use my own phone to google translate their menu in French because they don’t have an English version menu. They are not even French and spoke in Japanese in the restaurant as I can understand some Japanese. The waiter came after to apologize and said she could explain to me. Really disappointing and not worth for Michelin and Asian racist to Asian! Made me feel that I can’t afford their food. I then went a bistrot and get good service by the French people!

후기가 좋길래 예약을 하고 갔습니다. 점심에도 코스로 나온다고 들었는데 저녁에도 코스로 시켜 먹을 수 있어요.
제가 갔을 때는 전채요리+본요리+후식 이렇게 해서 39유로였습니다. 전채요리가 2개라면 49유로이고 메뉴에 따라서는 추가금이 붙기도 합니다. 와인과 물은 코스 가격에 포함되지 않고요.

가장 중요한 건 음식입니다. 솔직히 돈이 전혀 아깝지 않고 니스에서 이렇게 합리적인 가격대에 먹을 수 있다니 놀라울 정도였습니다.

사장님의 말로는 요리사 분이 자연에서 만드는 재료로만 음식을 만드신다고 합니다. 예를 들어 오리고기가 나오는 접시에 뿌려진 저 검은 가루마저도 올리브를 건조한 후에 가루를 만든 것이고, 아이스크림마저도 전부 직접 만드셨대요.

소스도 단순한 맛이 아니라 정말 맛있고 고기며 야채, 그릇에 올라간 것들은 전부 다 맛있었습니다.

니스에서 어줍잖은 관광객용 요리에 20유로씩 주고 먹다가 제대로 먹고 나니 행복했어요! 시간이 더 있었다면 또 갈 텐데 아쉽습니다.

다음에 니스에 온다면 또 방문할 거예요!

非常好吃的餐廳。 以39-49 的價格帶 是非常物超所值的。用小酒館的價格吃到 米其林一星的品質的食物。特別推薦他們的鴨肝 無花果配上 毫無腥味煎到完美的鴨肝非常好吃。

L'Eau de vie is one of the "top 3" best restaurants in Nice.
The food and experience is that of a ** michelin quality restaurant; and the service and overall experience is always exceptional. I look forward to going back.

We stood right at the front door for more than 5 minutes. The waitress just had a glance at us, and nobody came out to receive us. What an arrogant and rude attitude!

音楽もとても素晴らしく、ずっと藤井風さんの曲が流れていて、100点満点です！
ですが、サービスに関しては、アジア人に対してあまり親切ではないように感じました（私は台湾人です）。特に、周囲の非アジア系のお客様との対応を比べると、その差が明らかで、正直がっかりしました。私は日本に二度留学したことがあり、旅行でも五回以上訪れていますが、これほど居心地の悪いサービスを受けたのは初めてです。

それでも、またニースに来る機会があれば、やっぱりこのお店の料理を食べに来たいと思っています。それほど美味しかったです。スタッフの皆さんには、私がフランス語を話せないことや、日本語なまりの英語を聞き取るのが苦手なことを、どうか気にしないでいただければと思います。

友人の話によると、このレストランは中国の人気アプリ「小紅書（RED）」でとても評判が良く、それが中国人観光客が常に多い理由の一つだそうです。ただ、その小紅書には差別を感じたという内容の投稿も多く見受けられます。

私がニースに来た主な目的は、このレストランに来ることでした。料理は期待どおり素晴らしかったですが、細かい部分でもう少し改善されると、もっと素敵なお店になると思います。これは善意からの提案としてお伝えしていますので、スタッフの皆さんに心に留めていただけたら幸いです。

服務上似乎對亞洲人不上心（我是台灣人），尤其是在與周圍的非亞洲人對比過後。坦白說我挺失望的，我曾在日本留學過兩次，赴日旅遊超過五次，從沒有過如此不舒適的服務體驗。儘管如此，下次來尼斯，我還是會想再來這裡吃飯，希望老闆娘不要介意我不懂法語，也不太善於聽日本口音的英語。
聽朋友描述，這間餐廳是小紅書（中國人常用的App ）非常推薦的餐廳，這是為什麼餐廳內中國人始終很多的原因，但小紅書內也有眾多感到被歧視的討論。
我來尼斯旅遊的原因，就是為了來吃這家餐廳，當然餐點上的確很出色，只是小細節上可以更好，這是我出於善意的提醒，希望老闆娘能重視一下！

The food was absolutely delicious—definitely worth a visit!
The music was also amazing; they played Fujii Kaze’s songs the entire time, and I’d give that a perfect score too!
However, I felt that the service seemed inattentive toward Asian customers (I’m from Taiwan), especially in comparison to how non-Asian guests were treated. Honestly, I was quite disappointed. I’ve studied in Japan twice and traveled there more than five times, and I’ve never had such an uncomfortable service experience before.

That said, if I visit Nice again, I would still want to come back for the food—it’s just that good. I hope the staff doesn’t mind that I don’t speak French and have trouble understanding English with a Japanese accent.

According to my friend, this restaurant is highly recommended on Xiaohongshu (a popular app among Chinese users), which explains why there are always many Chinese customers here. However, there are also many posts on Xiaohongshu discussing experiences of discrimination.

My main reason for visiting Nice was to eat at this restaurant, and while the food certainly lived up to the hype, I think there’s room for improvement in the small details. I’m sharing this as a sincere suggestion, and I hope the staff will take it to heart.

Habitués de l'établissement avant son changement de cap, nous avions déjà été déçu l'année passée mais ce soir était l'occasion de tenter un menu unique de Pâques.
Malgré une cuisine très correcte le repas se trouvent entachés par des détails qui n'ont pas lieu d'être.
- Un menu unique dont le prix fluctue sans notification préalable entre la réservation et l'arrivée au restaurant
- Des serviettes en papiers ?
- Un verre de vin non conventionnel loin des 17.5cl habituels
- Un choix de pain discutable bien que frais
- Un oeuf mollet pas mollet.

Nous redonnerons volontier une chance a l'établissement a l'occasion en espérant qu'ils se ressaisisse et ne se repose pas sur sa notoriété auprès de la clientèle étrangère pour offrir un service qui n'est pas a la hauteur des tarifs affichés et de l'historique de l'établissement.

Superbe découverte, nous avons adoré ce restaurant. Des plats raffinés avec une subtile touche japonaise (due aux origines de la patronne, qui au passage est super gentille !). Une menu de qualité avec des dressages fins et des saveurs excellentes, pour 30€ pp entrée / plat / dessert.

Bonne cuisine, un mixte Franco Japonais parfaitement réussi.

天気が悪くなりそうだから、6時からの予約を受けることにしたという、その日、偶然6時に日に予約できました。メニューの説明や、注文も日本語でOK、優しい接客で心が和みます。前菜はスープ、主人はフォアグラをチョイス。メインのお肉ものソースも、アスパラや、ポテトの味付けも抜群でした。デザートのチーズやチョコムースも、おいしかった。また訪れたくなるレストランです。

从前菜到甜点没有一道是好吃的，感觉每道菜的各个食材之间相当不融合，配菜种类单一（点了四道前菜都用了石榴籽，两种烹饪方法完全不同的主菜里面放的花菜味道居然是一样的），调味也很平庸。

We love this place. Had lunch there with our toddler, the waitress tried hard to make him happy. Food was just so delicious with great price. It’s a lovely fine dining experience and it has a family vibe. Definitely worth it!

日本人夫婦がされていると知って、期待を込めて行きました。応援も兼ねて、一人旅の思い出に。
しかし、なんと残念な接客でしょう！私の質問にもつっけんどんに答え、メニューが配られ、それを見ていると、すぐやって来て、フランス語読めないでしょう？と第一声！失礼ですね。フランスへは10回以上訪問し、ニースも3度目、フランス語も少しは知っています。メニューを読む時間もそこそこに薦められたものを注文しました。注文の際に、フランス語だとこう言えばいいんですね？と言うと、冷たく、そんなん必要ありません、日本語で話してください、忙しくてこちらは戦争なんで。と言われました。急かされました。何か勘違いされてませんか？
ワインも注文しようと考えてましたが、最初に頼みもしない水を持ってこられました。
彼女はフランス人のお客様にはフランス語で笑顔で接していました。
しかし、別のテーブルで、彼女はワインの説明をしていましたが、通じていませんでした。パードン？と聞き返されてました。
私の目の前で。
恥ずかしかったことでしょう。
そこから私に対する態度は少しフレンドリーで、かつ謙虚にはなりましたが、彼女の接客によって、お料理が無味になってしまいました。
Googleで、アジア人差別をしている口コミがたくさん見受けられました。本当だと思います。同じアジア人なのにとても残念です。
忙しいという理由は、レストラン側の理由です。海外からのお客様は想定できませんか？もう少し、ゆとりのある接客が必要だと感じました。
フランスでの滞在の最終日で、最悪の経験をしました。帰国後も拭えませんので、投稿しました。
