Magnifique !

First is the location in a narrow dark alley behind the St. Sulpice church. No sun. Walk one block to experience the neighborhood ambience.
The lobby was far inferior to that of the other hotels.
The breakfast was surprisingly good. Kitchen staff cooked excellent scrambled eggs and bacon.
The front desk was hit or miss. Soel was by the far the best representative of all three hotels. He was very friendly in a genuine way. We had one very bad experience at the hotel and he was quite sympathetic. The evening woman could care less. I stood forever at front desk as she chatted away ignoring me.
When we arrived at the hotel we were informed the hot water would be closed down for 4-6 hours during the day. We found out by reading a notice taped to the elevator wall. Then the disaster! No hot water the next day! Cold showers no fun. Management did nothing. No apology. Business as usual. We pleaded with Soel to ask manager for at least a free breakfast. We had to ask. The manager/owner could have thought ahead to appease the hotel guests. After all there are only around 24+ (?) rooms.
The room on the other hand was nice. Room 20 had a beautiful garden view from second floor (top one). Left window wide open looking at colorful green courtyard below. We left window open day and night. However other rooms near us on the alley side looked awful. Avoid rooms next to elevator.
I will not return. The two Odeon Hotels nearby are overall much better. I gave the Relais a chance but management is undeserving.
