Anyone who gives this place a 3 star or above review has not stayed in other hotels. I travel for a living. I've also stayed that this Congo Palace several times from the 1960s onward most recently in 2006. I was traveling to Santorini and reserved one night when I landed in Athens and one night before I left Athens. The first hotel room had a shower head that sprayed everywhere other than in the shower which was clogged anyway. On my return we asked for a different room and it had a drain that worked but the mount for the shower head was broken off and the shower was just hanging on the ground. First room had old food in the fridge. Second room had water bottles and a kids t-shirt under the bed. The lobby pics look great, the rooms are poorly cleaned, not maintained, and look like they have not been updated in the last 18 years. I grew up in Glyfada and stayed in this hotel a lot as a kid (moving to Greece and back to the US twice). I love Glyfada and my memories of this hotel. So sad to see the dump it has become.

I suspect the only people who stay here are large groups of kids traveling in Greece whose only consideration is price.

Came here in 2018, and when we first walked into the lobby I really thought it was luxury and was therefore excited to see the rooms - once we got there i was underwhelmed since it was out dated. I wish how the communal areas of the hotel were like the: dining area, lobby etc, reflected the rooms itself.

On a better note, the food was amazing (but expensive) and the staff were amazing too.
The local shopping area was near too, great walking distance.

Excellent location and views, very friendly staff and good value for money

In the beginning of 2024 we stayed for two nights at the Congo Palace hotel. There was a group of about 60 of us including kids, therefore we booked alot of rooms. The initial distribution of the keys in the rooms was very quick, so quick that I don't think we waited for more than 10 minutes. We had breakfast and dinner in our package. Both were very satisfying, and ample to feed us all. The dining room had also a nice location with a view of the pool. The hotel was a little aged but the rooms were very clean, and taken care of. The front rooms had Ocean view the back rooms had the pool and the view of other buildings. The lobby was very nice and modern and able to accommodate a lot of people. The hotel was in the very favorable location of Glyfada. Within a couple minutes of walking you could be at cafes bars or restaurants. Within the same amount of walking you could be at McDonald's goodies or Kentucky fried Chicken. It had an outdoor pool which looked very clean. A couple buildings down it also had a Coffee Island and the mini market which would stay open late at night. It is considered a 4 star hotel and I will give it all four stars. The area was not very busy so there is plenty of parking on the street available. If we go to Athens in the future we will most likely select this hotel again!

Sisääntulotilat ja aamiaistilat hyvässä kunnossa. Perhehuone minkä aluksi saimme oli mielestäni kauhea. Pimeä, likainen kokolattiamatto sekä kuluneet maalipinnat, ovet, listat. Vatatessamme huonetta piti olla terassilta allasnäköala, mutta Terassi oli hyvin pieni ja näkyi vain betonia ja taivasta. Myös varauksessa oli luvattu 3 uima-allasta hotellin alueella, ei ollut kuin yksi melko huonokuntoinen ja todella kylmävetinen allas. Lapset eivät voineet siinä uida. Mennessämme kertomaan halustamme vaihtaa huonetta, oli palvelu huonoa. Mieshenkilö tiskillä oli hyvin vihainen ja ei todellakaan palveluhaluinen tapaus. Sanoi ettei ole muita huoneita ja väitti, että meillä oli uima-allas näköala. Lopulta tiuskimisen ja naureskelun päätteeksi hän antoi avaimen ja olikin 3 muuta perhehuonetta joista valita. Otimme hieman siistimmän ja valoisamman huoneen, mutta ikkuna oli vilkkaalle autotiellepäin ja äänieristys olematon. Lapseni nukkui korvatulpilla huonosti koko matkan ajan niinkuin mekin.Myös sänky oli todella kova. Kokolattiamatto oli likainen sekä kylpyhuoneen lattiakaakelit ja saumat. Aamupala oli hyvä ja allasbaarin henkilökunta mukavaa. Sijainti hyvä jos halusi lähteä rannoille tai keskustaan. Harmiksemme kuitenkin jäi hotellista hieman huono kokemus.

Classy and an excellent choice!!!!!!!!!

My recent stay at Congo palace has compelled me to share my concerns. Despite numerous reviews over the past year pointing out similar issues.
What's truly disheartening is the apparent disregard for guest feedback. Despite a consistent stream of negative reviews over the past year, it seems that the hotel management is still attempting to downplay these issues with weak excuses.

From the moment I entered my room, it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority. One of the most noticeable aspects was the unpleasant odour that seemed to permeate various areas of the premises.

Upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice some concerning hygiene issues. Mainly Room Carpets are smelling very bad, Towels and Bed linens are not hygiene & room odour is like vomiting. This not only made me uncomfortable but also raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the hotel. This is not only disappointing but also raises significant concerns about the overall safety and well-being of guests.

Equally concerning is the potential for guests to contract skin diseases due to the hotel's lack of cleanliness. This poses a serious health risk that should never be overlooked.

Moreover, I encountered an extensive waiting time when I tried to address these problems with the staff. It was frustrating and inconvenient to have to wait for a resolution, especially when the issues were related to basic hygiene.

What's even more concerning is the possibility of contracting skin diseases due to the lack of cleanliness. This is a serious health concern and should be a top priority for any accommodation establishment.

I believe that CONGO PALACE needs to revaluate their cleaning procedures and improve their customer service response times. Guests should feel comfortable and safe during their stay, and my experience fell far short of those expectations.

I believe that guests deserve transparency and a commitment to resolving issues, even when they may not be easily quantifiable. This type of approach is crucial in maintaining trust and ensuring a positive guest experience. It's disappointing to see a hotel attempt to mislead future visitors.

I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for Congo palace to make necessary improvements. I trust that they will take this feedback seriously and work towards providing a better experience for future guests.

Pas mauvais pour un hôtel grec mais le parking est très limité, il n'y a pas de duvet dans le lit et il pleuvait dans ma chambre à cause des orages

A relatively relaxed atmosphere while deciding on the next journey.

Amazing location next to the beach and the A2 bus into Athens. Modest rooms but nice and a fridge. Lovely staff and I would come back.
