Nicely designed and furnished, the hotel aesthetics is modern. Friendly staff, spacious room. It’s slightly far from the little Venice but providing a quieter environment for night sleep.

I stayed here for one night, in June 2025. There is long-term construction going on opposite the hotel and it is noisy! I mentioned this when I was checking in and was assured by the check-in receptionist that it was just for one day and that they would be wrapping up soon. Not true, I was woken up at 7:30 AM by a screeching tile cutter (see photo). According to the check-out receptionist, construction had been going on for the whole *last year* so the check-in person outright lied to me. If morning sleep is important to you, you would best avoid this hotel as all the rooms face the construction site. If I had known, I would have stayed at a different hotel because I was on a driving trip and that little extra morning sleep makes all the difference. Plus the checkout lady couldn't have been more uncaring and aloof, her attitude was sorry, but there was nothing she could do and that was it. The room was more than fine but this was not a pleasant stay.

Ottimo hotel 4 stelle a due passi dal centro.
Camere ampie, funzionali, pulite accessoriate e con buoni prodotti per l'igiene. Personale gentile e accogliente.

We had a wonderful stay at the James Hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, making it easy to relax right away. The location is excellent—close to everything we wanted to see and do.

What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the exceptional service, especially from Leticia at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us warmly and made sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. We had only booked one night but quickly realized we wanted to stay longer. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked. Leticia went above and beyond to help us find another place nearby.

The next day, even though we had already checked out, she kindly offered to store our luggage and let us leave our car at the hotel so we could continue exploring the city without stress. That level of care and attention meant so much to us.

Also, the breakfast was wonderful—fresh, delicious, and a great way to start the day.

We will definitely be coming back to the James Hotel. Highly recommended!

Wir haben nur eine Nacht hier geschlafen aber wären gern länger geblieben. Es war super! Schöne Zimmer, sehr netter Service und das Frühstück war auch sehr gut, gutes Angebot für jeden etwas dabei aber nicht überladen sondern mit dem Fokus auf Regionalität und Qualität.

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Hotel. Direkt in der Nähe des historischen Zentrums von Colmar. Wir waren bei unserem Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg in den Urlaub sehr positiv überrascht. Wir hatten ein Standardzimmer mit kleinem Balkon im ersten Stock. Zimmergröße und Stil ist vergleichbar mit den Hotels der Kette MotelOne.

So many ‘best’ parts of my stay in this amazing hotel! I traveled with Con Brio Choral Society in late May. Upon arrival, keys were ready, maps were distributed, and welcome tea and local candies (available 24/7) in the spacious and comfortable lobby. The room was well appointed with many towels, crisp sheets, plenty of pillows, and delightful chocolate. The water pressure and large walk-in shower were fantastic. Rooms are clean every day. There is a refrigerator and in room coffee set up, though I never used because the breakfast was sumptuous with locally sourced breads, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit, fruit juices and fresh eggs which you can cook with a timer to your liking. The coffee and many choices -sensational. Don’t miss the brioche!! The hotel is centrally located, next door is a full supermarket with helpful personnel and an amazing array of local foods and sundries. The hotel is walking distance to everything Colmar has to offer. The Unterlinden Museum is not to be missed! Many shops, restaurants, and sites to see. I chose the local delicacies - Tarte Flambee from Le Flamm’s (out of sight!), macaroons, butter cookies, crisps, caramels, many stores offer samples. I was in heaven when I took a bite of a bon bon covered in chocolate with the airiest marshmallow and pastry, a dream! I rented a bike and discovered the area, biking to the town of Equisheim. |The staff at the hotel are so accommodating providing patient direction and assistance, even h helping me find a local laundromat! |If I come to this area again, I will certainly stay at the James Boutique Hotel.

No hesitation returning here if in the area. My brother and I stayed for 3 nights. The staff were always kind and helpful. Being a 5 minute walk to the beautiful old town, we explored there a lot. Loads of shops and eateries to enjoy. Parking, using the supermarket car park next door was 16e / day. There are some free spaces nearby, but you might have to wait until one is available. Close to other gorgeous villages such as Kayserberg which we visited. Also went to the largest car collection/museum in the World at Mulhouse. Very interesting, especially if you like Bugattis.

מלון מקסים, מרוהט בטיב טעם הן בלובי היפה וכן בחדר. חדר מקלחת ושירותים מרווח מאד. צוות מאיר פנים ולבבי הקשוב לכל בקשה. החדר מרווח, מכיל ארונות ומקומות איכסון ברוחב לב, נקי. תלונתנו בעניין איכות המיזרון, נענתה מיידית ללא ויכוח. ארוחת בוקר עשירה וטעימה.

Très bel hôtel, belle décoration, belle chambre.
Personnel très courtois, bon petit déjeuner.
Un seul petit bémol : la localisation de l’hôtel, dans un quartier en dehors du centre historique, un peu gênant pour dîner le soir dans un restaurant du centre…
Je recommande cet hôtel.

Excellent séjour, l’accueil du personnel est très agréable et professionnel. L’emplacement ( proche du centre) est vraiment appréciable. La propreté des lieux et le design est vraiment ce que l’on vient chercher dans les boutiques hôtels.
Enfin , le petit déjeuner est excellent.
Nous recommandons vivement.

Loved this hotel! At first, we weren’t sure because it wasn’t in the old center of town. However, it is literally two blocks away. Great boutique hotel. Very good breakfast selections. Very comfortable bed and room. Great working AC. Really nothing negative to say. Highly recommend booking here.

Wir sind schon das 3.Mal hier abgestiegen. Ein supersüßes Hotel nicht allzu weit von der Fußgängerzone entfernt. Sehr aufmerksamer Stuff. Saubere Zimmer, gutes Frühstück.

Es un hotel muy lindo, muy bien ubicado, tiene parking, desayuno, las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas, las camas grandes, y el personal de una amabilidad increíble, todos muy bien predispuestos, Enzo nos reservó el restaurante y se esmeró en atendernos

Das Personal war stets hilfreich und sehr freundlich. ||Das Frühstückbüffet ist räumlich nicht riesig aber es hatte alles, was wir uns wünschten - inklusive Tomätchen und Gurken zum leckeren Käse. ||Unser Zimmer war geräumig, tipptopp sauber, schick/gemütlich und praktisch ausgestattet. ||Colmar in geh nähe ist ein weiteres Plus für dieses tolle Hotel. ||Wir waren sehr happy da. |Gerne wieder!

Très bon accueil, vraiment sympathique et chaleureux elle nous a expliquer l'ensemble des endroits où aller chambre très propre ils nous ont même fournit de l'électricité pour la voiture ainsi qu'n adaptateur la chambre est cosy. Maia point fort la sympathie de l'accueil !
