Perhaps the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. Our villa was open, bright, and spacious. Our private pool offered refreshing respite from the heat. All of the furniture, from the breakfast table to the pool beds to the curved lounger to the king bed were exceptionally comfortable. The food was tasty with wonderful room service. And the best part of Wapa Di Ume is the people working here who provide the utmost hospitality at every turn. Their kindness and attention to detail are superb. This is a truly beautiful and enriching accommodation and environment. The staff are so friendly and genuine. You can feel that there is a good ethos behind the business. It is very kid friendly. The restaurant has amazing food and drinks. There is a channel of jungle running through the two sections of accommodation, which makes it feel so close to nature and alive. Great place to stay in Ubud, quieter in rice fields but close enough to get a grab to town for less than £2. They have a welcoming service that makes you feel like family. Breakfast is delicious and has a wide variety for vegetarians and vegans. The staff go the extra mile here and we felt that over 6 days staying at this resort.

The views of nature from the room and pool are spectacular and we enjoyed the free afternoon tea at the poolside.

I have been to Wapa Di Ume twice now - once in 2017 and again in 2023. The entire property is beautiful, it feels like its own quiet oasis even though it is just a quick shuttle ride into town. There are two stunning pool areas and an open concept lobby and dining area. The rooms are nice, the staff is wonderful, and - stay with me - the breakfast is unmatched. I thought a lot about the breakfasts with their fresh fruit, delicious coffee, and rotating juices after I left in 2017 and as the years went on, I thought I must have been exaggerating… But having gone back in 2023, I can confirm my memory was realistic and the breakfast service at Wapa is worth flying back for!!

Superb in almost every way.||There are so many reasons to rate this hotel and most of the time it comes down to the staff. The staff here are, without exception superb, form the moment you are greeted at the airport or check-in, to the time they gather around you for a farewell selfie, you are welcomed and looked after in a genuinely personal way. Most waiting staff and all reception and management staff take the trouble to learn, and use, your name whenever they greet you. Whatever you want or need, they are genuinely keen to provide it for you. The site is immaculately kept; the gardening neat and trim, the rooms diligently cleaned every day during your breakfast in the restaurant and the pools kept clean and fresh. Sure, the site is not new and the humid environment is challenging to buildings but we felt very comfortable and charmed by the whole complex.||We ate a lot in the restaurant due to a lack of nearby better alternatives and the food is perfectly good without being Michelin star quality (and it doesn’t aspire to be). If you do want that kind of quality meal you should not miss Nusantara restaurant, or their nearby Herbivore restaurant in Ubud but that is the subject for another review. For Wapa di Ume, you will find that you begin to repeat meal choices after about 4 meals. Breakfast is particularly generous and set me up for the day until dinner time.||We also spent a lot of time lazing around by our own pool in our villa but ventured out to the horizon pool area for the complimentary afternoon tea. The spa is professionally run and gives excellent massages.||I would recommend you look at some of the many YouTube videos posted about this resort. Bottom line, if you are wanting to stay in the Ubud area, you could do very much worse than book in here for up to 10 days.

This was our second stay at Wapa di Ume, our first being 14 years ago. Although they have grown a little since then, they have retained the lovely ambiance and quality of service that we remembered. We stayed in a pool villa, overlooking the paddy fields, and enjoyed our breakfast most mornings on our terrace. It is great to be close to town but feel like you are in the deepest countryside.

This was my third stay at Wapa, and as before we loved it. The staff are so warm and friendly, the infinity pool is stunning and the landscaping is impeccably cared for by their wonderful gardeners. I would describe the hotel as a boutique hotel. It isn’t for those looking for glitz and glamour. It’s a peaceful, quiet retreat away from the hectic centre of Ubud, but close enough to pop down in 10 minutes. My daughter got sick and the staff went above and beyond to help me look after her, bringing us hot tea and calling a doctor to our room.||Truly a special place, but don’t tell anyone. I want to keep it a secret!!

Our long stay was so much more than we expected. Hotel staff is amazing and professional, available 24/7 for anything you might need. Breakfast and restaurant menu are so delicious with lot of choice for everybody's taste. Our pool villa is highly recommended for comfort, privacy, swimming and so good sleep. Beds are great! Resort itself with 3 pools, spa and rice fields is picturesque, we were suprised and made number of photo memories just from the hotel. This place is kids friendly, our daughter had a great time. Hotel is just few minutes drive from Ubud center-free shuttle daily, and reasonable car distances from number of spots you might be interested in. Going back to the staff, because place is what people made of it, all of them are so friendly, kind, opperative with a sincere smiles better than any gift you can ever get. Really wonderful experience!
