While making Bayeux the center of our Normandy visit, we had decided we wanted one upscale restaurant. We selected Le Pommier and are very happy we did. This restaurant, which feels like it is in a home by the way the rooms are divided, despite the fact it is a storefront, was just charmingly wonderful. We had reservations and were seated right away. For drinks before and with dinner we decided on a bottle of wine which was quite reasonably priced and turned out to be a perfect decision. With wine in hand we began by sharing two starters: a very well presented and good-sized regional charcuterie board, and the small fondue with Normandy cheeses and salads, cold meats and soldiers. Both were excellent, but the fondue was extremely imaginative and different. We finished them both. For the main courses, my wife decided to have the salad with goat cheese and honey and roasted seeds. The honey was a great flavor addition to this traditional French salad and the toast points with goat cheese were generous. I had the 7-hour leg of lamb in garlic cream. I was expecting a leg of lamb itself and instead received sliced lamb from the leg in the cream sauce with a potato casserole and a side of carrots and green beans resting in a wonderful yellow sauce. I say yellow because I don’t know what it was made of, but it added to the overall flavor of everything. Though the “leg” was not as expected, I was not in any way disappointed because everything was so good. Pacing throughout the meal was perfect. Sound levels were excellent for conversation and the temperature comfortable. In other words, le Pommier was a hit on all levels.

Great food but service poor. We waited 1.5 hours for my main course. Everyone around us was served first , although we arrived before us. We decided not to stay for dessert as it was so late. No apology and no offer of recompense The bill was over charged so had to be changed. Again no apology

Altamente recomendable.

My parents dined at Le Pommier on the 10th June 2025 while they were in Bayeux celebrating my father's 70th birthday. They had a wonderful meal - the food, service, and ambience were excellent.
The staff at the restaurant were also very helpful as we called to request that my partner and I pay for the meal as a surprise, which they accommodated and even brought out a birthday dessert with a candle. Would definitely recommend.

The environment in the restaurant was nice. But the food was exceptionally bad. Even worse than would be served i road pubs in my homeland Sweden. Tasteless meat, mealy tastless sauces and some sad overcooked vegetables on the side. Le Pommier is way too expensive for the standard. And to be candid, any price would be too much, as food like this shouldn't be served at all.

The food was excellent, however felt rushed to order with 21:00 reservation. Why take a reservation at that time if kitchen is closing. Again, food a 5

We dined for my birthday while on holiday in Bayeux and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very accommodating, especially since we do not speak French.

We naturally started the celebration with oysters and Champagne. The oysters were fantastic - perhaps the best we've ever had. For the mains we chose duck breast and Normandie fish pot. I had wanted to try the fish pot and finally got my chance. It was wonderful, as was the duck. For dessert, we had crêmé bruleé and an apple puff pastry that was incredibly delicate and flavorful.

It was an incredible experience. Highly recommended!

The overall experience was satisfactory. The restaurant has a nice menu and reservations were easy to make. The food and service was uneven. The lamb was delicious, but the side dishes were under seasoned. The steak was medium in some places, medium rare in others and the steak was also under seasoned. The apple pie was the best thing we ate on the menu. The service was polite, but inattentive.

Delicious meal. As good as the ones we had in Paris. We had the lamb and the fish pot. Best and most tender leg of lamb we'd ever had. Also, the 2-salmon (smoked and cured) with vegetable tartare was outstanding. Dessert was perfectly cooked apple pie with ice cream.

We booked a table at Le Pommier as it was near the town centre tourist attractions and had good reviews. We weren't disappointed with our visit at all. The service was very friendly, speaking English was not a problem and they gave us a table with a space especially for our dog (we had requested to bring her along when we booked). We ordered from The Menu Touristique which offers just a few dishes from the main menu and the food was excellent. We both had the ham starter, I had the fish main and my wife had chicken then both had the creme broulee for dessert which is absolutely amazing!!! The staff are lovely, the restaurant is lovely and the food is lovely. Definitely 5 stars from us

I was looking forward to our dinner at Le Pommier. I was disappointed. Started with my wine glass being dirty. The waitress was kind enough to exchange it though.

The fresh salad was good but not amazing.
We also ordered, The tripe specialty which was good.
Our other entree was the 7 hour lamb which we were excited about.
It was disappointing. Bland. Edible.nothing special.

Desserts were the pana cota and the apple crisp. Both were good.

Nothing wowed us.

They have a nice small terrace which has beautiful views of the cathedral.

Definitely recommend a reservation as they get very busy.

We had such an elegant dinner at Le Pommier! Service was excellent and yet didn't intrude on an exceptional, leisurely dinner. The setting is quite nice and subdued. Highly recommended.
