Świetne, autentyczne miejsce. Prawdziwa grecka kuchnia, autentyczna czyli w dużej mierze wegetariańska. Obsługa szybka, z wszytskim się można dogadać. Mało stolików więc może się okazać że będzie trzeba chwilę poczekać.

Fantastic in so many ways. We just keep on going back. It's a little bit mad, it's a little bit quirky. It's super tasty, well priced and brimming with a lovely energy.

If your expectations about a venue is high do not come here. The owner serves classical Greek food as it used to be same as 150 yers ago.
Basically you will find what is cooked. When we sat down to Niko's table (another guest, people share tables here) owner directly served us chickpeas, fava and fish, basically whatever is available.
It was great experience and food was delicious.
If you wantnto try some real stuff which is long-forgotten this is the right place to experience it!

מרתף עם 7-8 שולחנות, מתיישבים ומקבלים מיד את המנות הקבועות - סלט יווני, פאבה, מרק שעועית וסרדינים מטוגנים, מדי פעם משתנות המנות אבל פאבה תמיד יש. יין ביתי טעים
המקום נסגר בשעה 17:00 בד"כ. בקיצור לא לפספס!!!

μια χαρά ατμόσφαιρα, άλλης εποχής, η οποία όμως πωλείται δυσανάλογα ακριβά. Αν πουλάς παράδοση και γεύσεις όχι ιδιαίτερα δουλεμένες, μιας άλλης εποχής, οι τιμές δεν μπορεί να είναι εντελώς επικαιροποιημένες και χωρίς απόδειξη. Αυτα.

I came to this restaurant due to amazing recommendations. I must say this is the greatest disappointed of my Athens tour!!!
A guy came, no Hello, no explanation… and put on our table a bowl of chickpeas, a bowl of white beans (fava). It looks like they pour it from a conservative can and hit it up.
Also a plate of 7 fried Sardines, a piece of bread, and a small carafe of house wine.
The total of that ridiculous experience cost us €30.
The food is disgusting, The place is disgusting, the toilet is disgusting.
Do yourself a BIG favor…
No, do yourself a HUGE favor and skip this overrated restaurant.

Expect to see a really old tavern. Nothing’s fancy or new to blow your mind away. Simple and soulful cooking - Bread, Veggies, beans, and pulses cooked.
If you’re craving for “natural” tasting food as a tourist, this is the place to go. Not overly salted. Not overly spiced. Natural in a way that you would eat at home. Not sure I am able to express this well.
Just two guys cooking and serving you is a tad bit confusing, and they forgot our ask for a 2nd serving of bread twice. Initially, they’ll randomly bring you the dishes. Fret not, they’ll serve you well. Fish will be served, we told them beforehand that we do not want them.
Yes, it’s a tad bit hyped restaurant, but, I don’t think you’ll get a simple meal like this anywhere else within Athens, where most restaurants focus on the tourist segment.

Overall experience is definitely 5/5 - worth at least one visit. The food is genuinely homemade and the atmosphere is superb. Also the serve their own wine ????????
However it’s all somehow confusing, there’s one menu, which you get served as soon as you sit. But you are not informed about possible options of ordering something “extra”. I think that’s definitely missing, like an instruction from the staff of how things work there.

Diporto - whose name means “having two doors" - is just fantastic. Nothing fancy. Not even menus. Not even a sign on the door to indicate you've arrived. You enter via one of the two stairways into this basement taverna. You're sat at a table - expect to share tables if busy - the choice is fish or not to fish. Then the half a carafe of white wine, bread, chickpeas, fava beans and potato stew are brought within moments without you requesting them specifically. Part way through the chopped salad and fish arrives. All hearty, unpretentious stuff. Like going round to a friends for lunch. Seek this place out and enjoy you're given.

There was quite a queue as the restaurant was quite busy. Staff were very lovely and helpful, it had a homely feel and very well priced! Worth a visit if you are in the area

Best chickpea soup and soups I have ever tasted in my entire life. I am from America and came to Greece for vacation and I am extremely thankful that I was able to taste the food it tasted like it was made with so much love and the hospitality was really great! Will most definitely come back here when I come back to Greece!! Everyone must try this place!!

Αν αναμένεις την κλασική εξυπηρέτηση, τον χώρο και το φαγητό μιας τυπικής ταβέρνας με κατάλογο, θα γελαστείς.
????Δεν έχω φάει ποτέ καλύτερη φάβα. Το ψάρι πάντα φρέσκο και καλοψημενο σαν να το έφτιαξε η γιαγιά σου. Υπάρχουν συγκεκριμένα φαγητά που θα φας εκεί, όπως ψάρι (ό,τι υπάρχει εκείνη τη μέρα), σαλάτα-χωριάτικη, φάβα, ρεβυθάδα, χόρτα, πατάτες στη κατσαρόλα, ρετσίνα, κ.ά. Κάποιες ημέρες μπορεί να έχει κάτι διαφορετικό. ????Το κλίμα είναι της υπόγειας ταβέρνας με αίσθηση δεκαετίας 1960/1970, με βαρέλια κρασιού να βρίσκονται σε όλη τη μια πλευρά του τοίχου.
????Η εξυπηρέτηση δεν είναι άμεση. Λειτουργεί με μόνο δύο άτομα, για αυτό παιδιά κατανόηση. Να πάτε εκεί και να τα ξέρετε, μην απαιτείτε πολλά. Θα πάτε για το φαγητό και για το κλίμα. Είχα ακούσει τα καλύτερα για ένα μαγαζί που σε γυρίζει σε μια άλλη εποχή. Το μόνο που θυμίζει αυτήν την εποχή είναι ο χώρος και μόνο για αυτό έβαλα τα 5 αστέρια. Όλα τα υπόλοιπα, φαγητό - εξυπηρέτηση - υγιεινή και ασφάλεια νομίζω σηκώνουν πολλή κουβέντα.
Με τα ίδια χρήματα τρώει κανείς πολύ καλύτερα σε πολλά άλλα μαγαζιά της περιοχής ακόμα και μέσα στην Βαρβάκειο.

Kelner sadza Cię przy stoliku, nierzadko z nieznajomymi gośćmi. Nie ma tu czegoś takiego jak menu - po chwili kucharz przynosi Ci na stół to, co aktualnie ugotował tego dnia. Nie pyta też czy czegoś się napijesz - przed tobą ląduje także karafka domowego wina i ciepły jeszcze chleb, którymi dzielisz się z innymi.
Talerze to autentyczna, grecka kuchnia, której nie zakosztujesz w komercyjnych restauracjach. To smaki, jakimi raczą się rodowici Grecy od wieków. Prostota i funkcjonalność a wrażenia nie do podrobienia.
