THE WORST EXPERIENCE. People from the staff entered the room and STOLE money from our bag when we had gone up to the roof for breakfast. The girl at the reception showed us from the system that a card had indeed been hit in the room during those hours and tried to calm us down. Afterwards, however, there was another person at the reception and he told us that the girl made a mistake. We asked him to show us the system and he said that it is forbidden, while the girl had shown us that someone had entered the room in the morning.
He called us liers and spoke badly, we went to the police and on the last day they apologized to us and admitted their mistake but did not return our money. The matter has been handled by a lawyer. If you ever stay at this hotel, never leave money anywhere.
In a hotel worth 1,250 you expect that you will have safe and that you will not be treated in this way. In addition, we did not see the girl again at the reception that the system showed us, apparently she was kicked out of the hotel

It's a very bad hotel.We stay there 4 nights.The 3rd day we wake up, we check our money we went for breakfast and when we came back we realize that misisng money from our wallets.The staff of the hotel stole our money.We complain in the girl in reception and she check the system and she found out that an other key card open our room.this morning.Later on the other reception together with th eoperation manager of this hotel refused that the money was stolen from the room and they said that they work in this hoter the past 30 years.They never give us back our money and ofcourse we make a declaration in the police.It's an unsafe hotel!

This hotel is in dire need of renovations. I only chose it for its convenient location in front of the Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately, the street noise kept me up all night, and the rooms were poorly maintained. The bedding was old, and the bathrooms were not clean, with non-functioning exhaust fans. The elevators were small and outdated. While breakfast was passable, there's room for improvement. Despite the high cost, only the location justified it. One advantage was the ability to capture photos of the fountain without the crowds early in the morning or late at night due to its proximity to the fountain.

On a passé 5 nuits de suite dans 4 chambres différentes…
Soit vous n’avez vu sur rien… soit vous avez la vie sur la fontaine mais vous avez le bruit avec… très très mal insonorisé
Les salles d eau sont vraiment affreuses et des douches toutes petites et pourries avec le rideau collé …. Enfin bref… passez à un autre … le prix et les méthodes pratiquées par l’hôtel (demande cash… surplus…etc…)
Je déconseille vraiment sauf si vous êtes prêt à tout pour avoir la vue qui est effectivement imprenable sur la fontaine de Trevi

Questo hotel richiede una recensione davvero particolare.
Partiamo dal fatto che io sono venuto per lavoro ed ho prenotato una singola, da Booking ad un prezzo ottimo, considerando che stavo dormendo al centro di Roma, in quanto il giorno dopo avevo un incontro in una sala nei pressi del Quirinale, a pochi passi dall’hotel.
La stanza mi ha sorpreso in quanto piccola, molto piccola, con un letto da 1 piazza e 1/2 appoggiato al muro. Il bagno minuscolo, con una doccia con il telo (non la vedevo da anni) ed un erogatore dell’acqua troppo datato (troppo!). Oggettivamente, ancora non ho capito dove si accendesse la luce del bagno, incredibile!
La mia camera inoltre dava sul cortile interno, quindi nemmeno l’ ombra di questa decantata Fontana…solo il rumore, tanto, incessante, dopo un po’ fastidioso.
A colmare il “vuoto” di questa esperienza però c’è la sala colazione (con un buon assortimento di pietanze) che permette una vista davvero unica sulla fontana di Trevi…bella, bellissima. Che dire…un bilancio medio!

We stayed here for 8 nights. As soon as we walked through the front door we were welcomed with a smile and helping hands. The staff were amazing! Helpful beyond what I have ever experienced in any other hotel. They were one of the highlights of our Italy trip. That aside the only con to the area around the hotel is the enormous crowds at the Trevi fountain and the noise they would make all night, but please keep in mind this is out of the control of the hotel! Even though we could hear people all night we would most definitely stay there again. It is located in such a romantic spot where you can open your window and have the Trevi Fountain all to yourself from your room. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and evening drinks facing the fountain was gorgeous. The area around the hotel is safe and you can walk around at any hour of the day or night without concern. I have to conclude with this. To the staff at Hotel Fontana, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

I chose this hotel for its view of the Trevi Fountain, but I regretted it. The room, in need of renovation, was too old, with a strong sewage smell and cold temperatures. The shower in the tiny bathroom is so small, about 60cm square, that you have to bend over to pick up the shampoo bottle from the floor. You can see how outdated the rooms are in the photos. If you're curious about the view here, you can pay a 25 euro entrance fee per person and enjoy a 15 euro drink to be able to look down at the Trevi from the small and shabby breakfast area on the 5th floor.
On the last day, the taxi driver called by the hotel seemed to be on familiar terms with the hotel staff. He drove back and forth across the center line, stopped at the taxi company to buy an airport entrance ticket, and despite the meter showing 60 euros, he shamelessly demanded a tip and received more. Other taxis had notices saying the flat rate between the airport and Rome is 50 euros, but I didn't want to argue with the driver, who seemed to have a terrible attitude, so I just gave him what he asked for. Not keen on visiting Rome again.

Overall: Positive! Just know what you're getting. I would absolutely go back, but I would always pay extra for a room with a view of the fountain.
We had a gorgeous view of the fountain and we would just admire it from our room at random times of the day or night. The staff was lovely, beds were clean and comfy, breakfast in the morning was delicious with lots of meats and cheeses and little pastries. Important to note, there are only 2 small window seats at breakfast where you can see the fountain. So going to breakfast is not a guarantee, and if your room doesn't have a view of the fountain then you're paying a lot of money for just having the fountain nearby.
The bathroom was VERY small. I am a 5'3" girl who wears pants in a size 10-12, and I could barely fit in the bathtub. It definitely wasn't comfortable. And the bathwater was... pretty lukewarm. But again, I wasn't there for the bathroom so I didn't care.
They'll store your luggage, but it's just stored in the hallway by the elevator so it's not really "secure" if you're worried about that. But we had no issues.
Again, we REALLY liked it here, but also knew ahead of time based on reviews what to expect. Hopefully you will too!

Hotel pequeñito, sencillo y muy bien ubicado. Justo en frente de la Fontana de Trevi.
Es fantástico poder apreciar la Fontana de madrugada completamente vacía.
Personal del hotel súper amable y servicial, desde la buhardilla del hotel se puede desayunar con vistas.
Sencillo, sin grandes lujos, perfecto para una estancia corta.

Acho que nunca me hospedei em um hotel igual a este, tudo excepcional, desde a recepçao, camareiras e pessoal do café da manha, boas pessoas, bons trabalhadores. Me agradou muito!

Disfruté de una estancia de tres noches, 4 días, el Hotel más céntrico no puede estar, por su ubicación frente a la Fontana estás cerca de cualquier lugar importante del centro de Roma (Incluso fui andando desde aquí a los Museos Vaticanos y por supuesto al Foro y Coliseo, el Panteón, Barberini, Plaza de España, el Quirinal están al lado... Aunque es antiguo y las habitaciones adolecen de esa antigüedad, el personal es magnífico tanto el servicio de habitaciones, como el personal del comedor (sobre todo María que hace lo imposible por agradar), para el desayuno (en una sala de la cuarta planta frente a la Fontana, impagable la vista mientras desayunas el buffet) y acabando por el personal de recepción. No solo nos recomendaron lugares para comer y cenar, sino que nos pidieron un taxi para volver al aeropuerto, cuya conductora vino al propio hotel a recogernos.
Nos ha merecido mucho la pena la estancia en este hotel, ya digo, sólo por el hecho de desayunarte viendo la Fontana merece la pena venir, es un lujo impresionante. La nuestra solo ofrecía una vista de un lateral de la fuente, pero si lo deseas puedes hospedarte en una habitación justo enfrente.
En resumen una estancia magnífica que os ha dejado una impresión maravillosa, ha hecho que nuestra estancia en Roma sea muy agradable.
Nos ha merecido mucho la pena la estancia en este hotel, ya digo, sólo por el hecho de desayunarte viendo la Fontana merece la pena venir, es un lujo impresionante. La nuestra solo ofrecía una vista de un lateral de la fuente, pero si lo deseas puedes hospedarte en una habitación justo enfrente.
En resumen una estancia magnífica que os ha dejado una impresión maravillosa, ha hecho que nuestra estancia en Roma sea muy agradable.

My sister and I stayed here in late March 2023. It was amazing. We had an issue at the airport with "Gypsy types" charging crazy amounts and we ended up calling the hotel. They sent someone for us. He drove us right to them, with no fuss and even carried our bags. When I walked around the corner and saw the Trevi Fountain...on our doorstep...I cried. It was everything I wanted. We had a room with ceiling beams and a very slanted ceiling. I whacked my head a couple times, but because of the environment, I found it charming. Every employee was very pleasant and attentive. If I could buy this place tomorrow...I would. It was amazing! If you are the type that needs to have all the amenities of a luxury hotel, this may not be for you. But if you want to feel like you are part of Rome, there is no place better. When I go back, I am staying there. I can't wait to return!

Estuvimos hospedados 3 noches 4 días, el hotel es muy lindo, antiguo, con una excelente ubicación, las habitaciones muy limpias, nos encanto .
El desayuno es rico, la vista inmejorable.

We arrived 31 Jan and had booked a room with Fountain View - kindly upgraded to room with best view- which is stunning. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff, couldn't recommend highly enough ????

La ubicación es perfecta para salir a tomarse fotos por la madrugada en la fontana de trevi sin gente alrededor, y todo está como a 20 mins caminando, es un lugar muy bien posicionado, el pastel que dan el el buffet de desayuno es perfecto, era como piña con algo, no sé, las vistas a la fuente, perfectas. <3

Bon jour Madame Clotilde, j'espère que vous revendrias ancore dan notre petit hotel très charmante en face la fontaine de Trevi. Peut être la prochaine fois on demande on vous pouvez offrir la chambre plus tranquille sur le toits de rome plutôt que enface la fontaine . Merci pour votre avis . A bientôt Fabrizio
