My trip to France was very quick so I was very pleased that I was able to secure Christophe for a whirlwind tour of the Camargue. He picked me up at the train station and was able to give me a very good taste of what the Camargue has to offer in only 4-5 hours! I recommend this tour if you are interested in getting as many birds as possible in a short time. Also Christophe peppered some good history about the area during the tour which was very interesting.

Five star review! Our visit to the Camargue with our guide Christophe was a highlight of our trip to Provence. It was everything I hoped for, as a first-time travel birder and visitor to Provence/Camargue.
Christophe drove my husband and me in his car (although he gave us the option to ride with us, we decided we wanted to look around as much as possible). He was very responsive in our communications before we met up and provided very helpful directions for where to meet him.
During our few hours together he identified about 30 different varieties of birds, most of which I had never seen before. He provided a scope (which he set up at each stop) and binoculars, so we didn't have to travel with our own. He also provided a great level of detail about habits and behaviors of the birds, their migration routes, their diet, etc., etc. He was incredibly informative. But his extensive knowledge went well beyond birds. He shared information about other species that live in the Camargue, from the frogs to the black bulls. He also shared fascinating information about the history of the Camargue and its preservation, as well as the ongoing efforts to balance its role as natural habitat with its use for rice farming and salt production. We visited the Salin-de-Giraud, and learned a great deal about salt extraction/production and its uses.
Lastly, Christophe was also an absolute delight to spend time with. He was friendly, conscientious and very patient with all of our questions. It's clear that he truly loves the Camargue and enjoys sharing it with visitors. We truly could not imagine a better guide than he. We so highly recommend the Camargue, and we very much recommend Christophe and the Bureau as a guide!

What an amazing experience to spend time with Frederic. We spent a Friday night cruising around Les Alpilles finding Little Bustards, all kinds of warblers, Griffons and many other species, culminating with an Eagle Owl posing majestically on a remote cliff face at sundown. Then a full day in the Camargue including a one-of-a-kind lunch stop. Not only did he point out and talk about dozens of birds, he also gave me the confidence to point out these birds later when I was with non-birding friends. This was truly a highlight of my nine days in France, and I can't recommend the Bureau's services highly enough.
