You know a hotel is perfectly quaint and intimate when the rooms don’t even have room numbers. It’s hard to encapsulate just how great of a stay this is. Right in the heart of St. Remy and the perfect jumping off point to the whole area of Provence. The building and the rooms are vast and stunning and beautiful. Air conditioned too. The hotel features a private pool

Long before you ever arrive, Camille and the rest of the team is so helpful and communicative and ensuring you have everything you need for your stay. They are helpful with recommendations, reservations and directions.

They made us feel so special from start to finish that we were sad to leave. I would recommend this place to anyone I know visiting the area. This hotel is one of the best we’ve experienced in the world. All the stars

What a fabulous place! My wife and I enjoyed EVERY minute of our four night stay. We were in Room Three (the stone wall room) and it is even more grand than the photos suggest. Super comfortable, amazing bathroom with a rainfall shower that is twelve feet tall, and a very modern control panel that takes care of everything from temperature to automated curtains. And the staff is so helpful and courteous, they were there every step of the way to help make our visit more comfortable. The only thing to be aware of is the location is hidden away on a side street, so if you're driving in I would suggest calling when you are close so they can assist you with your bags and parking and show you where to go upon arrival. And although we didn't take advantage of the Michelin star restaurant, every night we would pass an open door to views the interior of the restaurant and it looked divine. They also provide a reasonably priced breakfast every morning upon demand. We have traveled all over the world and this place ranks at the top of our list for comfort and service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the rooftop restaurant inside Hotel de Tourrel in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France.

A truly wonderful rooftop restaurant just next to the old town, with stunning views over the tiled roofs of a charming Provençal village and a nearby church. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the whole experience felt thoughtfully curated.

The seating arrangement is quite unique: tables are set in pairs with side-by-side seating, separated by plants that provide a bit of intimacy. It’s perfect for couples, but also allows for easy conversation with neighboring tables if the mood strikes — as it did for us. We had a great chat with a lovely American couple from Saint-Rémy, which added a memorable touch to the evening.

The table design is also clever — they can slide closer or farther depending on whether you’re eating or just relaxing, making it surprisingly comfortable.

Now the food:
We started with heirloom tomatoes and pistou — a simple yet flavorful tribute to local produce. Then came a catch-of-the-day carpaccio with citrus notes, followed by perfectly cooked king prawns with a rich, beautifully balanced jus. The seabream fillet that followed was just as delightful, served with zucchini, black rice, and another excellent jus.
Dessert was a summery and comforting cherry preparation with soft biscuit and whipped cream, topped off with a madeleine and coffee.

The view at sunset is spectacular — but do bring sunscreen if you’re there in the summer, as the sun can be strong until late evening.

Highly recommended — and reservations are a must for this exclusive spot.

Incredible culinary experience by the young chef. Beautiful space, delicious wine pairings from across the country, and excellent service. We were blown away, and it made my partner’s birthday spectacular

We recently stayed at Hôtel et Restaurant de Tourrel in Saint-Rémy, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience!

The room is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with high-end European materials and fixtures that give the place a luxurious yet understated vibe. The Aesop toiletries were a delightful touch as well! With only nine rooms, the hotel feels intimate and exclusive, though I can imagine it might be challenging for them to turn a profit with such a small scale. You can really sense the passion and care the owners put into every detail of this place—it’s truly impressive.

The rooftop restaurant, led by a sous-chef from a Michelin-starred kitchen downstairs within the hotel, is a highlight. The food is outstanding, with fresh ingredients and creative flavor pairings that set it apart from typical fine dining. Every dish was great, and our server, Paul, was so friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. The tasting menu took about two and a half hours, which felt a bit long, but the quality made it worth it.

The front desk staff—Eva, Matthew, and Camille—were absolute gems. They went above and beyond to help us during our stay, always with genuine warmth and professionalism. Their kindness added a cozy, welcoming touch to this sleek, minimalist hotel.

Overall, we’d love to return to Hôtel de Tourrel! We hope the owners can expand the property to make it more sustainable in the long run, as we’re huge fans of supporting independent businesses like this. You can feel their heart and soul in every corner of the hotel, and it left a lasting impression. Highly recommend!

The room was comfortable, location excellent, but the staff were the best. Special VIP service from Camille, always making sure that we had everything we wanted. She arranged a tour guide hire, recommended wineries for tastings, and even arranged a late night cheese plate.||It was well worth the cost.||Quick note: the hotel's parking lot is 10 minutes away, and the parking is pretty tight getting in and out. If you're not staying on a market day, consider just paying for parking at the convenient nearby parking lot. Especially if you're spending most days out and about, since parking is free except 9am-6pm. AND you can buy your parking ticket for the following morning on the evening before.

We have stayed at this hotel for two nights. We felt very comfortable. Camille, the hotel manager, was extremely helpful in every aspect- accommodations , advice on local culture, food, etc. We have enjoyed visiting with the owner , Ralph, a man of vision, who converted this property into a boutique hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. |Location of the hotel allows to walk around town and reach out to places of interest around Provence. It was a bit difficult for us to find the hotel. My advice - call Camille ahead of your arrival , and she will help. Overall impression- 5 stars. Hope to be back one day????

I would give this Hotel and Restaurant 10 starts if possible. The staff is amazing. The Michelin star restaurant is AMAZING! The location is amazing. The rooms are amazing! I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The Staff went above and beyond in so many ways I cannot pin point one over the other. Very accommodating and very nice. Even though I spoke no French.

The perfect home for your St Remy visit.||Let's start with location. The hotel is ensconsed in the heart of St Remy, inside the old town with nothing more than a five minute walk away. Tucked down a little alley away from the traffic. Couldn't be more convenient.||The hotel itself is a stunning mix of old and new. Situated in an old mansion, the design is clean and modern, but with all the old elements you like to see. A cozy rooftop bar overlooking the cathedral and only a handful of rooms make this feel more like a private club than a hotel. The rooms are clean, modern in design and have all the amenities you would expect, with giant windows that open to the street. We're not breakfast eaters, so I cannot comment on that, but they do offer breakfast in the same room that houses their Michelin started restaurant. Parking is about a block away.||The small, friendly staff contribute to the private club feel of the hotel. They helped with bags, reservations, transfers, answered questions, made suggestions, all with a smile. And be sure to visit the wine shop adjacent to and affiliated with the hotel, where you can get a crash course on everything having to do with French wine. Nice people who make for a pleasant stay.||The overall vibe is that you're not at a hotel but in a really nice private club. It is a perfect place to stay to explore St Remy and Provence more generally. We will return!

Small and very charming hotel in an ideal location in Saint Remy. I loved my room (Suite #2 with the sofa and fireplace). The staff were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants in Saint Remy, Arles, and wine tasting in Chateau Neuf Du Pape. We really enjoyed the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant -- great wine suggestions from sommelier.

This should have been a 5-star review, however a hotel that charges 400EUR+ per night and doesn't have hot water for the whole weekend is unacceptable! It is clear that the owner of the hotel is cheap because why doesn't he have a plumber on retainer who will come out day and night to fix any issues, instead of leaving guests to shower in the cold!!

I will say that the staff were all very friendly, accommodating and helpful. However the staff should have informed us at check-in that the hotel has no hot water such that we could decide then and there if we'd want to keep the room or go elsewhere. Instead it was an unpleasant surprise when I took a shower before dinner to discover that there was NO hot water. When we told the staff about this, they confirmed that they had no hot water but that they were working on it... This being the Provence, the book "A year in Provence" came to mind and I thought, its Saturday later afternoon, and you tell me you working on fixing the problem? Nothing will get done here till Monday morning if that. Let me just finish by saying that there was no hot water on Monday morning either.

The 'compensation' offered by the hotel was their breakfast for which they normally charge 25EUR p.p. The breakfast for a hotel like this was absolutely abysmal, coffee so and so, tiny pastries (2 options) and cold cuts (2 options) and cheese (2 options), some fruits and that was it! They did offer to make an egg any style but we decided to skip that and head out to the nearest bakery and get some proper French pastries and good coffee.

This hotel is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed at in France. The staff were so helpful at reception, at breakfast, with parking, at dinner in the fantastic restaurant. ||And I have been travelling regularly to France for 40 years||Ralph, the owner, has the most encyclopaedic wine knowledge - a visit to his wine shop next door is not to be missed

Bravo!

Just spent three fabulous days/nights based out of the Hotel Tourelle in St. Remy. From the location, staff, accommodations, food and attention - they take care of everything with professionalism and ease. And the Michelin star rated restaurant on site it’s just icing on the cake! The owner was present and shared the history of the building and how he transformed it into what it has become today. This is truly a property to visit at some point in your lifetime. Thanks again!
