J’ai séjourné une nuit dans cet hôtel pour notre anniversaire de mariage. L’hôtel est bien situé et le personnel est correct et professionnel.
Néanmoins, l’établissement n’est pas à la hauteur de mes attentes. La chambre est simple et la clim a fait du bruit toute la nuit. Alors qu’un technicien est venu faire une vérification de contrôle sans que l’on soit informé au préalable (pendant notre sieste). La piscine et le rooftop est très restreint.

Emplacement parfait avec une très belle vue depuis le rooftop.
Le petit déjeuner était assez copieux avec une variété de choix autant sucré que le salé.

La chambre n’était pas digne d’un 4 étoiles:
- l’eau était soit trop chaude, soit froide; aucun juste milieu
- la poubelle de la salle de bain était cassée (pas de couvercle ce qui est inacceptable)
- il y avait des traces dans la cuvette des toilettes, sur les murs de la salle de bain et j’en passe !
- le climatiseur faisait du bruit toutes les heures et ce, même pendant la nuit !!!

Tout cela est à revoir pour un 4 étoiles, il n’est plus conforme !!

Went ther with my son (age 12)They have a rooftop pool, but it clothes at 17;00 to become a bar. Just at the point when you return form visisting the city. Also relaxing on top next to the pool is not possible, you will be sent away from 17:00 because they have top build the bar. Rooms were dirty, and bathroom was the worst there is it with seams all over and broken stuff.
Not a hotel to go with your family or kids.
Hev to say that the location was top and breakfast was super!!

Wonderful hotel, excellent location, close to beach, old town, top restaurants and shopping. Rooftop pool and bar are awesome. Great service and very accommodating.

Probably close to being a 3-star hotel than a 5-star. If it weren’t for the great location and the pool, I’m sure it would have had 3 stars. I’m quite disappointed, knowing it is a 4-star hotel, as I’m used to them being a higher standard. The wall at the bathtub is a bit old, dirty or mouldy. I’m not sure, but it doesn’t look good. And the shampoo dispensers don’t work. They were quite slow at making room and cleaning up empty tables for new guests in the breakfast area, and 9€ for a soda by the pool area seems a bit much - Coming from Copenhagen, one of the most expensive cities in Europe, that says a lot. Cocktails prices seem fair, but sodas should be less expensive.
There were no slippers in our room, although the cleaning staff have them on their wagons.
It’s not a bad hotel, although my rating might suggest it. The location is good, it’s okay quality - but seems more like a 3-star hotel.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Aston in Nice was a bit of a mixed experience. The room itself was okay, but we didn’t have a proper shower—just a handheld shower head—and the water was extremely cold, which made things uncomfortable. The rooftop, however, was beautiful with amazing scenery and definitely the highlight of our stay. We weren’t too impressed with the breakfast service. It was very self-serve, and you had to make your own coffee, boil your own eggs, and even cook your own pancakes. It didn’t feel very relaxing, especially first thing in the morning.

Pas de porte bagage, lumière qui ce cassé la geulle, pas de cache vollets, clim réglé en extrême froid, a peine un 26 dans la chambre...
Salle de bain par en lambeaux....

Nous avons séjourné une première fois il y a 6 mois et à la remise des clés quelle surprise nous avons eu de constater qu’il y avait déjà quelqu’un dans notre chambre… bon a priori ces choses là arrivent régulièrement puisque pour notre mariage nous avons séjourné encore une fois dans cet hôtel (+ 2 chambres pour nos témoins) et la situation s’est reproduite ! Mais pire, jour de mon mariage, on nous attribue une chambre sans clim (période de canicule) c’était un enfer, nous avons dû attendre 24h avant de pouvoir changer de chambre et encore il a fallu que nous insistions, seul dédommagement 2 bouteilles d’eau offertes, je n’ai pas vécu une bonne expérience pour un jour qui devait être spécial ! Je suis très déçue et nous ne reviendrons plus séjourner dans cet hôtel malgré l’amabilité du personnel, l’hôtel n’est pas au niveau de ce qu’il prétend et encore moins du prix

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of town, making it easy to explore local attractions on foot. The rooftop pool offers stunning views, and the generous breakfast selection was a fantastic.||

Loved this hotel. Stayed here with my sister for 4 days . great location , wonderful rooftop bar with pool and lovely guy Luke who ran the roof top bar in the day . good energy and very welcoming. Thanks Luke. |We had dinner here 1 night and I can honestly say it was the best meal we had in Nice . Will definitely be back

We visit Nice every year and stayed in the Aston La Scala for the first time in 2024.||Based on that experience we booked again for this year. Whilst the stay was still very enjoyable, we don’t think it was quite up to the standard we saw last year. The positives;||The hotel is in an excellent location near Place Masséna, close to the Promenade de Anglais, shopping districts, and old town. Even the train station and port are both walkable in about 20 minutes.||Our room, and the entire hotel, is always spotlessly clean, and we often saw cleaning staff working.||Our ‘Privilege’ room was spacious, stylish, light, and well appointed. Plenty of wardrobe space although we did have to ask for extra hangers which were delivered promptly. The bed was comfy and we slept really well. This was helped by the electric blackout blinds which worked perfectly. Air conditioning was excellent and worked well throughout our stay. ||Bathroom was huge. Shower was good and always plenty of hot water when we needed it. The towels were fluffy and clean. This is certainly an improvement on last year when the towels were a bit old and worn.||The hotel has a rooftop bar which we visited every evening. It affords excellent views of Nice. The service, drinks, and food were excellent without exception. There is also live music in the evening and I have to say it was very enjoyable.||The breakfast area was spacious and wasn’t ever too busy. Plenty of choice in terms of hot and cold options and all the food was pretty good. There was one morning where the service was a little chaotic and some of the cooked options weren’t replenished for about 15 minutes. Far too long to wait. ||Last year, the best thing about the hotel was the staff because everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. This year, they didn’t reach the same standard. For example, we asked a member of the reception team (a young, blonde man) if we could have a couple of extra pillows. He acted as if I’d asked him to move a mountain. He was dismissive and told me “he’d see what he could do”. I knew he wouldn’t bother and unsurprisingly, we never did get those pillows. I thought this was extremely poor service from a long established 4* hotel. I’m sure I’d have got those pillows if I’d asked Michel or decided to have a moan, but frankly I couldn’t be bothered. ||It was still a very enjoyable stay and we might well return. However, I didn’t consider other hotels before booking this year, but I probably will look at other hotels before booking again for next year.

Room (Stayed in Room 517):
The view from the room was excellent, and the space was generous. Daily housekeeping did a very good job. However, maintenance was lacking—there was mold in the shower, not enough hangers, and the safe was placed inconveniently close to the floor. The air conditioning was weak, and despite calling maintenance twice, it was never resolved.

Breakfast:
Outstanding breakfast with a wide variety of options and friendly staff. The only issue was the lack of order around the boiled egg station—some guests did not respect the queue. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend the breakfast.

Hotel Location:
Perfect location—close to everything, with a tram stop just steps away. Ideal for exploring the city.

Hotel Conditions:
Unfortunately, maintenance is a serious concern. Many areas of the building feel abandoned. The rooftop pool was very dirty, lobby furniture was damaged, and the overall organization was poor. The hotel has great potential but needs better management and upkeep.

Rooftop Bar/Restaurant:
While the rooftop view is beautiful, the food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive. Most installations need urgent maintenance. The quality of drinks was also disappointing and needs improvement.

Conclusion:
Despite the issues, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning. We recommend the hotel for its location and views, but management needs to urgently address the maintenance and organizational problems.

We were extremely pleasantly surprised by the whole experience - comfort, staff, breakfast - having read a few dubious reviews. Our experience was one that we would have no hesitation in repeating or recommending. The rooftop pool and bar were particularly enjoyable. The hotel is very well situated, too.

Hotel réservé pour un événement corporate de 60 personnes.
Ensemble extrêmement décevant, l'hôtel mérite un rafraîchissement de grande ampleur, on est très très loin des photos du site internet. Les salles de meetings sont d'un autre temps et les supports Audio et Vidéo obsolète.
Tout y est à refaire des chambres aux parties communes, les murs, la moquette, les portes, le carrelage cassé partout, les ascenseurs sales, la liste est très longue....
Le personnel tente de donner son maximum mais malheureusement cela ne suffit pas, faire du a peu près correct avec les moyens du bord c'est insuffisant.
La direction est ridiculement incompétente, c'est scandaleux.
Entreprises ou privée, un conseil ne choisissez pas cet hôtel, au risque de vous laisser un très mauvais souvenir de votre venue à Nice.

Nous avons été déçus de la propreté, la baignoires avait une bonne partie des joints noirs, pas de dispositif pour bloquer l’eau.||A l’intérieur de l’hôtel, des moquettes étaient tâchées. Des prises sortaient de leur emplacement également.||

The bathroom in our room was not maintained. The overhead shower did not work and despite reporting this it stayed the same for the whole 5 days. Other than that the room was okay. The women who appeared to be in charge of the roof top bar was possibly the rudest person I've come across in hospitality. The breakfast was excellent value for what was offered. On checking out I had been charged for mini bar purchases which I never made and when I complained they, without question removed them. This hotel is in a fantastic location, close to everything. I would stay here again but would expect a slightly better service and standard fir the money.

Ayant mangé deux fois au rooftop de l'hôtel la semaine passé, mon avis très positif, finesse des plats, bon rapport qualité prix des plats proposés, très bon cocktails, service attentionné du personnel du bar, belle vue sur le vieux Nice et la colline du château... nous avons passé un très bon moment, nous n'avons pas dormi à l'hôtel.

Perfect location easy to reach from airport eg. by tram (we did not because of the strike). Top floor room with basic level balcony and with a wide view over most other rooftops. Cleaning was only done once even though the cleaning request note was on the door handle for five hours. The joints of the shower's tiled walls had partly darkened (a typical problem caused by EU environmental directives, when necessary raw materials that protect against mold have been removed from grouts).||The breakfast was better than promised and expected incl eg. original fresh juices (so not a concentrated juice machine).||Outdoor pool is small one (appr. 4m x 7m). ||The pool bar desk was pitty, bar bit chaotic, every second order was forgotten. Instead the wholeness of the bar sitting area was perfect.||The room had an electronically operated blackout curtain for light sleepers and to block out the sun's rays.||The room air conditioning a bit inefficient but quiet.||Overall, not close to the Meridienne level in any way, but a good average level hotel through slightly over priced. Location is 10+.||The reception service was fast and clear. No changing space / room for late leavers.

Negatives-Our bathroom extraction didn’t work, the overhead shower didn’t work.Reported but ignored. The women who seemed to manage the pool bar/restaurant in the evening was very rude and needs training.||Positives - fantastic location, Breakfast was good value. The staff (bar one) were excellent. Cleanliness was good.

Perfect location for exploring Nice. Our room lacked basic maintenance, the bathroom extractors did not work, the overhead shower did not work and the heated towel rail was stuck on maximum making use of the toilet beneath uncomfortable. The breakfast was good value with plenty of choice. The staff were mostly great except the women at the pool bar in the evening who was very rude and condescending. I would stay here again purely based on location.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Not the best beds we have had. The internet in our room was extremely slow / useless.

Extremely poor service by the management, especially in terms of food. No options for vegetarians, not even basic fruits such as bananas, tomatoes, onion, etc. Very arrogant behaviour by the hotel management

Being on the cote de azure and after having booked and paid on line and on arrival being told we had to settle bill for stay on arrival while online payment had gone thru so having noticed that 2 payments where made for the 1 booking was concerning after having spoken with staff to rectify this over payment and only after bumping into the hotel manger to express our concerns over our stay we left our hotel on the last day feeling like thank god we have left .
Location was smashing with every high end designer stores located around the surrounding streets.
I would go back to Nice but would rather pay extra take my self to Monaco where customer service is paramount and we are not being difficult when questions are asked or bills queried based on my day trip out there .
So sorry Scala all the best for the future but in my opinion some work needs to be done.

Nous nous sommes mariés fin juin à l'hôtel Aston La Scala et notre mariage s'est merveilleusement bien déroulé grâce à toute l'équipe et en particulier grâce à Cléo.
Tous nos invités ont été enchantés par la vue panoramique depuis la salle de réception, le service a été parfait et nos prestataires très bien accueillis ! Cléo s'est montrée à l'écoute de l'ensemble de nos demandes et a même organisé le repas du lendemain. Ce fut une réussite ! Si vous recherchez un lieu vue mer en plein cœur de la ville de Nice, l'hôtel Aston répondra à toutes vos attentes !
Grâce à vous, nous garderons un souvenir mémorable de la réception de notre mariage ! Un grand Merci !
