Superb. Very memorably wonderful. Would go weekly if I lived in Nice. As it is I’ll visit whenever the opportunity presents itself. The food and the humour of the staff were a formidable combination. A rare treat, highly recommended.

A little restaurant but with excellent food and service with a smile despite the crowds. Book if you can because tables can be hard to come by and waits for one to become free can be long.

Our starter was delicious but it was hard to enjoy the delicious main. Half an hour after our starter was cleared, we were asked if we wanted dessert. We told staff we wanted our main first and they clearly had no clue that we hadn’t been served our main yet. An hour and a half of servers telling us “it’s coming, it’s next” and we ended up eating two hours after we ordered. The tables on either side of us who arrived 15 and 20 minutes after we sat down, both finished their meals - including dessert - before us. We were told there was a kitchen issue and that it was busy, but it felt strongly like they’d just forgotten our order. We kept being told our food was coming - for about half an hour - while our neighbours received their meals. We got a “sorry about the wait” when our food was finally served and it was delicious but it felt pretty ridiculous to receive this kind of service for a meal costing €124 between two people.

No offer of a free glass of wine or to comp part of our meal. Just a frustrating experience.

This place has a lovely atmosphere! We sat on the street and there was so much going on… great for people watching. We were told prior to ordering that there would be a delay due to high amount of customers, which we were happy to wait. For our patience, we were given free glasses of champagne and an extra big serving of chocolate mousse!! Food was so yummy and lovely service. Felt very authentic and we really enjoyed!!

My friends and I ordered beef tagliata and beef tartare for mains, followed by tiramisu and fruit salad. Everything was delicious. Surprisingly, there was only one chef preparing all these dishes for us. The service was somewhat slow due to how busy the restaurant was. However, the staff were friendly and provided good recommendations from their menu.

ONLY CASH ONLY CASH ONLY CASH. My group sat down and felt rushed by the waiter, not to mention WHEN WE GOT OUR CHECK they said ONLY CASH. Horrible SERVICE, ATMOSPHERE, and WATER WAS 5€ per bottle and they keep giving it out. THE WORST place I have personally BEEN IN NICE. -10000/10000. I can’t even express the how HORRIBLE this experience was. Unfathomably awful. This establishment needs to be removed/ banned from ever serving again. June 25th 2025 and from here on out.

CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY.

After four days exploring the area, we were eager to find a truly traditional spot — something authentic or a hidden gem. On a local’s recommendation, we discovered La Petit Lascaris, and it turned out to be the best decision of our trip.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was clearly homemade, full of flavor, and crafted with care — you could taste the tradition in every bite.

If you’re ever in Nice and looking for a place with heart, authenticity, and unforgettable food, La Petit Lascaris is a must.

Honestly, the best pasta (with the best pesto) and the best pavlova dessert ever. Worth a visit when in Nice.

Our group was visiting Nice for 3 nights and tried to come here the first night. We queued up for a table at 8pm and waited half an hour, once we got to the front of the queue we were told the next table would only be available in over an hour which was very unlucky.

Thankfully we came back the next day at 7pm and were seated immediately! I’m so glad we did because the food was ASTOUNDING. There’s a small but varied selection of dishes, with the tagliata being their specialty. We were given some capers before ordering the chicken pate as a starter (delicious, came with pickles which balanced out amazingly), and then all chose raw beef-based dishes.

The beef tartare was the best I’ve ever eaten, and came with some addictive roast potatoes covered in pesto. As a Brit, I would usually be reluctant to order roast potatoes at any restaurant but the three of us polished the plate until we were stuffed. My friends both got the tagliata, which was just as flavourful and delicious. The one male server was a little sour that we didn’t order any wine but the female server was so welcoming and helpful. For dessert we got some tiramisu, which was a huge dollop put onto our plates and tasted wonderful, and the fruit salad which has vanilla and basil and I’m still missing.

The atmosphere was amazing even in the cramped restaurant - there is only one chef who is incredibly talented, and the restaurant is incredibly charming. My friends and I had to stop ourselves from going back another day, we wanted to try everything!! It was such an honour to eat here, and it was so well priced as well.

*One note for the restaurant: the menu said ‘stuffed asshole of bird’, which in English is quite vulgar… guessing this is just a translating error but we got a good chuckle out of it. It’s also quite difficult to reserve a table if you don’t speak French, as you have to phone to book. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

It was a great pleasure to have dinner at Le Petit Lascaris! Partly because of the great food and wine, I recommend to ask if there is a chef’s special that is not featured on the menu. First and foremost it waa such a pleasure because of the great hostesses that run the place. You might think they’re sisters, but it turns out there no each other for decades as friends, which might be even cooler. Loved the atmosphere dining outside in this cute street in Vieux-Nice with these cool ladies and the great food!
