We stayed at the JW Marriott Cannes for our honeymoon, choosing the hotel based on my husband’s longtime loyalty to the Marriott brand and redeeming his lifetime points for this special trip. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations—and of the standard Marriott typically upholds.

Despite noting multiple times to the concierge and front desk that we were celebrating our honeymoon, no acknowledgment was made—not even a simple “congratulations.” While we didn’t expect anything extravagant, it was disappointing to be completely overlooked during such a meaningful occasion.

Our initial room, a “city view,” was on the main floor and overlooked an active construction site. It took seven trips to the front desk and an additional payment to secure a new room. The hotel was behind on check-ins, and we lost nearly a full day of our vacation resolving the issue.

Other parts of the stay were equally underwhelming. The fitness center was small, hot, disorganized, and poorly maintained. Restaurant staff were curt, and on our first evening, a rooftop fireworks event closed the pool without proper communication to guests. When we went up to simply view the facilities—not swim—we were told to leave. As we turned to exit, a staff member snapped their fingers at us, which felt incredibly disrespectful.

For the cost and location, we expected a much higher level of service. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the significance of the trip. We wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We just had a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott! Everyone was super pleasant from Beatriz at check-in to Fatima in housekeeping to all the staff at the pool and the restaurant! The breakfast was also delicious with many options! We’re so glad we ignored all the negative reviews!! Will definitely stay here again!

Excellent location & friendly staff in the reception. However the concierge staff need to improve their skills since every question I asked was not answered fully. Tried the terrace (unfortunately don’t have hot drinks) and the breakfast, both were good. The room is big, has all the amenities (shattaf as well), but missing usb ports. Comfy bed and high quality materials used in the room.

I am a long high level achiever of Bonvoy which demonstrates the many nights i stay in Mariott group hotels. this is my second time staying at this property (JW Marriott Cannes). in my opinion, the location is outstanding. rooms have good layouts but need updating. yet, can not say too much.
the issue with the hotel management. as a regular hotel customer, i asked for a few items/privileges i am used from other locations. front office desk (like Samuel) are great. but managers did not have the curtesy to even come, meet me and explain. i know busy location especially in high season but this is the time you need goo management. last night at check in, 4 managers (Joh, Julia, Hassan and Dimitni) in a back room did not come out and ask, greet, welcome nor care. not what i am used from Marriott group.

Séjour exceptionnel au JW Marriott Cannes ! L’emplacement est parfait. Le service est irréprochable, le personnel aux petits soins. La chambre était spacieuse, propre, avec une vue magnifique sur la Croisette. Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner en terrasse et le rooftop avec piscine : un vrai moment de détente. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel pour un séjour luxe à Cannes.

Although we didn’t stay at the hotel we did have some food and drinks at the rooftop bar on a couple of times. On both occasions we were served by Bassim who was just fantastic! He made our experience really special and really looked after us all. On Bastille day Bassim made sure we had some great views of the fireworks. Bassim is an absolute credit to the hotel and I hope he does receive some recognition for how well he looks after the guests.

Our favorite hotel and go to in Cannes every year. Rooftop has amazing views and decent food and drinks. Location is great with all the beach clubs right in front. Plus the fireworks for bastille day are incredible. Service has improved over the last few years as well.

A Wonderful Stay at JW Marriott Cannes

We had a great experience at JW Marriott Cannes. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with a refined and elegant atmosphere. While the rooms are not particularly large, that’s quite typical for Europe—and they are very comfortable and well-appointed.

The location is simply outstanding, right on the Croisette, offering easy access to everything Cannes has to offer.

Service throughout the stay was excellent, and I’d like to especially commend the reception staff for their professionalism. A special mention goes to Mrs. Noor, who went above and beyond to support our families—preparing the rooms in advance of our arrival and ensuring that all our requests were honored. Her dedication made a real difference to our stay.

Overall, I highly recommend JW Marriott to anyone visiting Cannes. It was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely come back again.

Underwhelming experience. $1500-$2000 USD A NIGHT. Rooms are exceptionally small ever for European standards. While the front desk staff were accommodating to get me checked in early the pool bar restaurant was closed over the weekend. One of the other cons is that the hotel is located across the street from the beach but the hotel has no beach access. I was informed they have a partnership with the adjacent hotel. You have to rent a spot for 75 euros a day. The pool is very small, tiny and bar service closes at 5 the day it was open. I had a rental car and had difficulty double parking to check-in as there was no space to park and despite trying to get valet’s attention to help they lacked attentiveness for not being busy at that time. Another con-I ordered one drink (an Aperol spritz. It was 30 euros plus an 8 euro delivery fee to the pool) ???? $45 USD for one (spritzer) drink? I also had the privacy enabled while I was showering and room service walked despite this to do turn down service . Only one outlet in the entire room to charge electronics and no usb charger.

Our stay has been pretty exceptional. All the staff have been very kind and helpful. However I’d like to highlight my experience at Scalini the dinner restaurant within the hotel, the service was incredible. Our waiter Mustapha really went above and beyond, from giving us recommendation, to rushing me water when i was coughing in distress.He was very attentive and kind. Very pleasant and I hope to see him when I’m back for my next trip!

Вайб Дубайского отеля, не французского и не канского. Новый чистый прям свеженький отель.

Бассейн находится на крыше, а вида ни какого нет, суть бассейна теряется. Пластиковые лежаки.

Спорт зал на 3 с половиной человека.
У отеля нет своего пляжа, но через дорогу есть бич клабы. Нас туда не пустили, мест не было поэтому бронь заранее.

Локация хорошая.

В номере не было геля для душа, а крем для тела просто ужасный он размазывался отвратительно, нажимается туго. Смените поставщика кремов.
Зубных шуток нет, расчесок тоже нет.

Душ расположен в ванной кабине на хорошей высоте, детям ок. А вот что бы взять гели для душа высоко.

Халат висит прям в душевой кабине, те он когда вы идете мыться мокрый, уборщикам убирать его лишний раз и менять, затраты.

Нет места для сушки купальников.
Утюг не работает.

Интернет плохой.

I’m a Marriott Gold member and have stayed at many properties, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences.

The only truly 5-star feature of this hotel is its location — right across from the beach. Everything else fell short.

We arrived a bit early and were told the room wasn’t ready, which was fine. But when we returned at 4pm — the official check-in time — we were told we’d need to wait another 1.5 hours. After a long wait, we were offered a different room, which was completely unacceptable — not at all what we had booked. Only after we insisted on speaking to a manager did we get another room that was okay, but still not up to JW standards.

The furniture was run down, the door didn’t work properly, the safety deposit box wasn’t closing, and the hairdryer was poor quality. For a hotel charging over €1,000 per night, this was shocking. I used around 100,000 points for one night and was relieved I didn’t pay cash — had I done so, I would’ve been extremely upset.

This is not a 5-star experience. At best, this hotel is 3.5 stars. I wouldn’t pay more than €300–350 for a night here — and even that feels high.

And service? That must’ve been reserved for someone else — we never experienced it.

We had the most wonderfull dinner experience At Cannes JW Marriott. The staff went above and beyond we were not guests at the hotel only popped in for dinner our waiter for the night was Mustapha. We owe him a very special thanks for making our evening so enjoyable even arranging a view from the roof top bar for us. Thank you with hospitality like this it would be hard for us not to stay with you next time.

Very disappointing stay.|The hotel is beautiful but amenities are below average for a hotel of this caliber.|Unable to use the hotel pool due to it being hired out the entire trip which was not advised on Booking.com|Highlighted various items to the hotel including item which has gone missing from the hotel but a month later still not resolved. Highly disappointing would def avoid this hotel.

The best hotel I have ever stayed at. Great location and surrounding areas. Impeccable and attentive service from all staff. This hotel is a great example of a truly 5-star establishment.
