Magnifique château , merci à Viviane pour cette total confiance envers ses clients.

Amazing venue and location. Our room was spotless. No staff readily available on site but key safe check in was painless as emailed instructions were very good.

Beautiful place, comfortable spacious room, accommodating friendly owner and delicious French breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend it for all!!!!

Un havre de paix, découvert lors d'un séjour professionnel dans le Poitou.

Très belle bâtisse, ma chambre dans le donjon était spacieuse et bien agencée. Un mini frigo permet de stocker de l'alimentation au frais quand il fait très chaud, ce qui était le cas. Accueil cordial par la propriétaire, parking à l'intérieur de la propriété, à l'ombre. Petit déjeuner de bonne facture. Je recommande cette belle adresse et y reviendrai.

Belle demeure dans un petit village tranquile à moins de 10 minutes du Futuroscope. Calme et agréable. Accueil sympathique et discret. La chambre familiale que nous avons occupée était très spacieuse, avec une cuisine équipée. Le petit déjeuner à base de produits frais de qualité est très bon.

Bon emplacement - cadre très agréable et le château très bien rénové. Vivianne a été parfaite.

Wonderful chateau with authentic furnishings. Excellent hostess who provided a very good breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Good location near Poitier which had a good variety of restaurants.

Séjour très agréable dans un lieu charmant, reposant et authentique, idéalement situé aux portes du Futuroscope et de Poitiers.
Le château est magnifiquement restauré et décoré, l'escalier de pierre, les meubles et objets nous racontent leur histoire. Vue imprenable depuis la suite du Donjon sur la campagne environnante, de jeunes chevreuils et des lièvres gambadent dans le pré.
Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Viviane qui a partagé avec nous l'histoire du château.
Petit déjeuner délicieux et copieux.
Tout était parfait.

A hidden gem away from the noise. Many places call themselves “chateau” but don’t come even close to be deserving the title. This is the real deal! I highly recommend. I will definitely be back!

Everything was great! This beautiful Chateau is a real find and truly authentic, having been lovingly and sympathetically restored within the last 20 years or so. A great location with a local bus-link twice daily, and close to other destinations.

Ideal for couples, groups and families and with a small kitchen for self-catering.

Bear in mind, the property dates as far back as 5th century ( Basement) and 15th/16th Century for the body of the Chateau. There are wide stairs ( surfaces can be uneven as worn over time) It’s 5 flights to the top of the central tower, there is no ground floor, from the entrance hall it’s either up one flight to the dining room, or down to the basement which has a table tennis table.

Three flights up from the entrance hall is a lounge and games room with a billiard table, and two further flights up are 3 rooms.

Other rooms are accessed via the dining room or doors in the wings of the chateau.

We stayed in ‘Cone d’or’ which was a very large and beautiful room with a large bed, two further beds, plenty of chairs and sofas, a tv, kitchen and en-suite.

The shower was great, with instant hot water.

The room has some of the oldest oak timbers in the building

Avanton is a very typical tranquil French village. Having some french is helpful.

A short walk away from the chateau is a small central group of shops, walk right at the war memorial outside the chateau, across the island and turn right at the next island by the statue of The Virgin Mary ( on the left on the opposite side of the island to the graveyard)

Keeping the graveyard on your left, walk to the next junction (follow the road) and turn left, walk past the bus-stops, restaurant, and the shops are ahead on the right, including:

A butcher with a superb range of meat, charcuterie, wine, cheese and pre-prepared dishes, great for self-catering.

A Tabac, a convenience store with a bar attached and a good selection of food and provisions, a boulangerie with a tempting range of cakes, pastries, and bread.

A short distance away from the shops is ‘Cree Pierre’, a restaurant serving a range of typical french food, unfortunately closed when we visited.

The bus stops ( each way) are right by the restaurant and village centre.

Our host Viviane was very accommodating and spoke good english, Farah was very helpful in Viviane’s absence, super-friendly.

A lovely stay, wish it could have been longer.

Nous avons passé une très bonne nuit dans la suite Donjon de ce magnifique château où un accueil très chaleureux nous a été réservé. Petit déjeuner très copieux. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit.

Escape game vraiment génial

Parfait pour une visite du futuroscope, à moins de 10 minutes en voiture. Le château est rénové et très joli. Nous n'avons pas profité de l'extérieur car la météo n'était pas avec nous. Les chambres sont sous les toits, donc en cas de fort vent/pluie le bruit peu être assez fort.
Petit dej complet, composé de produits frais et maison.

Lieu merveilleux. Très bon accueil. Chaleureux. Petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux.

Chambre donjon : Super expérience. Château magnifique, simple à trouver, accueil chaleureux, petit déjeuner super. Au calme. Chambre confortable avec cuisine et salle de bain. Je recommande absolument cette endroit.

Magnifique lieu les boiseries sont magnifiques nous avons parler avec la propriétaire qui a pris le temps de discuter avec nous sur son patrimoine vous avez envie de vous évader de trouver un lieu calme je vous le recommande merci encore pour ce superbe moment
