Best meal I've ever had in my life. Hands down. My wife and I went there 2 years ago and we will talk about it to this day.

Matteo was our server and was AMAZING! Food was unreal. Not a single bad thing to say.

I was really looking forward to this restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere were wonderful. The little bites that came with the aperitif and amuse-bouche were amazing.

However, when the starters and main courses arrived, I was disappointed. The food was pretty and well-plated, but the flavors were lacking. I had the Spring menu, which consisted mainly of vegetable-heavy dishes, along with a langoustine main course that, to my taste, lacked flavor and that mouth-watering quality you expect at this level.

I wasn’t a fan of the mix of fruit and protein—like the apple compote—which didn’t work for me. The dessert, a chocolate soufflé, was light and delicate, but it’s not going to blow your mind.

The service was also underwhelming. The main female server didn’t seem like she enjoyed working there, and the food descriptions felt like they were read straight from a textbook—no passion or personal insight.

As for the wine pairing: honestly, it was absolutely terrible. Out of all the Michelin-starred places I’ve been to, this might rank in the top three worst wine pairings I’ve had. A real letdown.

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my fine dining friends.

Final rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Maybe 3.5.
but for 890 euros for lunch, one would expect more.

The food itself was good, a little salty.

pierre gagnaire may have been a glowing establishment and culinary innovator during the 2000s. But now, his cooking style is basically replicated in haut cuisine all over the world for 1/5 of the price.

It was a good check mark for Pierre’s legacy, but by no means is this place worth 3 Michelin stars. But then again it’s hard for the Michelin guide to not give three stars to an institution such as this. French Laundry is the same.

Good food. Not worth a trip nor the price. Even for their lunch.

Déjeuner divin jusqu'aux desserts. Nous avons trouvé ces derniers un peu en deçà du reste. Service parfait.

The bread was very good, and was replenished throughout the meal. The absolute highlight, though, was the salted butter they brought out. This was astonishingly good - the perfect salt level, melts in your mouth, and addicting. I had to stop myself from eating straight butter from the butter knife. It paired with the bread so well.

We decided to get one appetizer and one entree among the two of us, and split it. This isn't as outrageous as it initially sounds, because the appetizer we picked (Scallops from the truffle menu) comes with 5 different dishes, and the Langoustine entree that we got comes with 7 dishes.

Interestingly enough, we had to kind of argue with the waiter to allow us to choose this. She really wanted us to get two entrees, because she thought what we got wasn't going to be enough food (it ended up being more than enough).

A really cool thing that they did here was bring a card displaying what dishes they brought out, along the ingredients in those dishes. It really helps track what's in the dishes as you're eating them.

Eventually, about an hour and half after we sat down, the main courses were brought out. As mentioned, these were 5 scallop dishes and 7 langoustine dishes. We each shared half of every dish - so I got to try half of all twelve.

The scallop dishes were very much a mixed bag for me. The damier was not something that I liked - particularly because the plain truffle squares just tasting very bland and with a hard texture. The dishes that I really liked was the broth flavored with truffles, and most particularly - the cannelloni marine - which was a bunch of seafood stuffed inside a cannelloni shell. This last one was incredibly good, and easily my favorite scallop dish of the night.

I liked the langoustine dishes better. Of these, my clear favorites were the large langoustine seared in brown butter, the fried langoustines, and especially the raw langoustine. In each of these, they were cooked perfectly. It did suffer from the same problem that I'll discuss later - that the dishes began to taste similar to one another.

We did not expect that they would bring out an entire section of cheeses, a total of 12 pieces, or 6 per person. I did not like any of these cheeses, except the brie.

The dessert was probably the best part of the meal - which is not a surprise as it's what they're known for. Unlike the previous set of meals, each dish was very different from one another, and tasted worlds apart - but all retained an extremely high level of quality. The licorice cake was my favorite, with the milk mousse on the side of the bowl being the highlight. The chocolate dish, containing all different types of the flavor, was another strong contender. Not to be slept on was the blood orange dish, which combined with the cold coconut parfait to create a textural & temperature combination that was delectable.

The total cost ended up being 350 euros per person, or roughly 380 dollars.

This is the second Michelin-starred restaurant I've been to, the first being Santa Elisabetta in Florence (**). Given that, I was expecting this to be a step up from that place (since this is a three-star), but I have to say I don't think it was - on the contrary, I think I prefer the Italian one.

There are a few reasons for that. For one, for about half the price, I got a good amount more food at Santa Elisabetta. Also, the experience there was just better. The plating was superb, the environment was amazing, and most importantly, the food was take-your-breath-away good.

This place excels on the margins. It beats the other restaurant easily in terms of service - the service here is spectacular. The variety of the dessert is also excellent.

None of this is to say the food isn't good. It's obviously some of the best food I've ever had. I enjoyed my experience very much overall, and this is in the top five to ten of restaurants i've ever been to, but it didn't live up to the hype for me, which is the part I'm disappointed by.

I’ve been to good enough Michelin restaurants, but for first time I experience 3 stars.
The service was fantastic- friendly, nice and not too formal.
Most of the dishes were amazing, very few very good. After all it’s a matter of taste, right.
Gourmet experience at very best!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Pierre Gagnaire, where the atmosphere was both elegant and relaxing. Everything from the food to the service was simply flawless. The dishes were perfectly paired with wines recommended by the sommelier, making every bite and sip a delight. The service was warm, thoughtful, and made me feel truly welcomed. This is a culinary experience not to be missed — I will definitely be coming back.

They truly went the extra mile to provide a memorable experience, including a surprise appearance of apricots for my wife, despite us telling 3 different servers about the apricot allergy and them acknowledging"no problem!". This twist highlighted that life is short and could end anytime!

The meal was also a fantastic example that €1000 doesn't necessarily purchase happiness – perhaps just a waiter who makes a silent exit at the end of his shift without saying goodbye nor giving us the cheque (maybe we should have just walked out).

Thanks to this insightful visit, we've decided to explore entirely different dining categories going forward and won't be pursuing Michelin 3-star restaurants anymore! We genuinely thank Pierre Gagnaire for these incredibly impactful life lessons. Highly recommended for anyone seeking deep philosophical takeaways from their dinner!

????????????????????In mid-March, we traveled to Paris and had our very first experience at Pierre Gagnaire — and wow, it truly left a mark on us. Every dish was like a work of art: beautifully presented, full of flavor, yet so light and easy to enjoy. It didn’t feel heavy or overwhelming at all — just pure joy with every bite.

The atmosphere was elegant but relaxed, and the service was absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and so thoughtful. And don’t even get me started on the desserts… they were out of this world. Honestly, the kind of sweets you dream about long after the meal is over.

Even now, after coming home, we still find ourselves missing that experience. It wasn’t just a meal — it was something we’ll remember forever.
Out of all the places we ate at in Paris, this was hands down our number one favorite❤️

I had lunch here with my fiancee, we got the lunch set menu for 180 per person paired with two teas. The food was well presented and my fiancee enjoyed it as one of her first times at a fine dining restaurant. I personally did not particularly enjoy the flavours of any of the dishes served, and was a bit disappointed in this given the price point, but am happy that she liked the food.

The service overall was good, however whilst I was in the toilet my fiancee was approached by one of the waiters and asked where she was from, she was uncomfortable with this and felt she was being hit on, and thought it was extremely unprofessional.

The coffee was decent for Europe, however there was water on the plate and bottom of my espresso glass which then spilt onto my shirt as I drank it. The carpet on the stairs was loose, I almost tripped on it, and saw one of the waiters do the same. We also saw another patron fall over in another spot, and some cutlery dropped on the floor by a waiter.

The waiters were all very young which is fine, however some of them clearly require further training and professionalism, the service otherwise was good.
