The rooms were a bit small, the drinks and food were a bit expensive. The personnel were wonderful, informative, very helpful and pleasant. The location, for tourists such as ourselves, was absolutely perfect.

This was our second stay at the Pont Royal. We splurged and booked the junior suite with street view on the seventh floor - two small balconies, separate bedroom and sitting areas, and two tv's. Looks right down on the Rue du Bac. Plenty of floor space, but like most all European rooms, minimal closet space. Not cheap, but quiet left bank area, and a relative good buy when you consider everything.||My father was a Sheraton Hotels VP and we lived in when I was growing up, so I know what I'm looking at. These folks are hospitality professionals, and take great care to look after you and provide a high level of service. Front desk staff was most accommodating and would book taxis and dinners at a moments notice. Maids, wait staff, bartenders, doormen, etc. were friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and well-cared for.||Hard to take a shower-minimal side glass on the tub. You have to be very careful not to get water all over the floor. Needs sliding glass door.||Could not be in a better place, location x 3, and near all the bigs. ATM and Metro are a safe 2 block walk. We never felt any pressure. Best thing is a Monoprix mini mart right across the street, to load up on food and drinks to put in your room mini fridge. Second plus is a Michelin starred Joel Robochon restaurant attached next door. The hotel will get you in.||Live Jazz at the bar on Thursday nights. Good local talent. The hotel restaurant has a nice English hunt style breakfast. Or room service on your balcony, where you can see the Eiffel tower in the distance.||Champagne and fresh flowers in our room on arrival, refreshed mid week. Plus some chocolates, and a thoughtful parting gift. Nice touches-they didn't have to.||So if we return to Paris, we would certainly go back...

the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. the concierge would go out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. All the reservations for dinner were spot on and we never had a problem. Room was always clean and had a terrific view.

We stayed in room 601 and had a lovely view of the top half of the Eiffel Tower. A full view of Montmarte, and could see down the street and across the river to the Louvre and Tuileries. The location was excellent for touring Paris. We felt very safe walking. Lots of options for dining, sightseeing, shopping and relaxing in parks. Right next to monoprix and pharmacies for all needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. They provided excellent service when taxi driver from airport could not get credit card machine to work. I would stay here again. Very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning worked. The bathroom was perfect. It really made our trip to Paris so enjoyable. There were outlets by the bed but you had to move the night tables out a little to reach easily. They were light and easy to move for us. There were plugs at desk. Hair dryer in bathroom was good enough the teenager did not complain about it. We did not use the TV at all. There was a mini fridge and we refilled water bottles with tap water and kept cold in the fridge.

The hotel has a good location in terms of getting to Paris' main points of interest. It's a little quieter than the Right Bank, but that does mean fewer restaurants nearby. The rooms and communal areas are maintained to a very high standard, in spite of the age of the hotel / building. There's really nothing to fault in this regard, and the staff were all terrific.||My main criticism would be around value for money - though to be fair, I'm judging on what I expected, not comparing against other Paris hotels. For the price we were paying per night, I expected something sensational, not merely adequate. The breakfast room and the breakfast were just ok ; not befitting the ambience of the rest of the hotel. Street noise was a surprising issue - you aren't far from multiple hospitals so a lot of sirens at night - the single glazed windows don't help.||Finally, whilst I am sure the highest corner penthouse may afford a view of the Eiffel Tower, the photos provided on the booking site were misleading, suggesting that any number of rooms had such a view. I think they need to clarify this in their room description ; more than one person whilst there commented on this
