What a pity that after years of coming to this hotel for breakfast & tea, since I live in the neighborhood for the past decade, the hotel just decided that they NO LONGER ALLOW DOGS inside. My heart is broken for this treasured gem destroyed for me and my well-behaving dog who, only a couple of weeks ago, used to sleep at my feet while I meet friends here for breakfast. What a tragic decision on the part of the hotel!

A nice hotel surrounded by a beautiful internal garden with a fountain where it is nice to have breakfast. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The Hotel inside is all covered in carpet. It's not ideal if it is not kept properly. Having recently returned from Japan, where everything is super clean, I was struck by the carpet in our room, it was full of stains. Rooms are not very big, I had a superior Double Room La Parisienne, I had only one suitcase, if I had another one, there would have been no space to move.|I would have paid what I paid for the amenities, but not for the room, too bad, such a nice place!

Hospitable small hotel located a few blocks from both Les Deux Maggot and Bon Marche It is a perfectly run hotel with a nice breakfast and tea. Prices are moderate compared to not only the right bank but the newer hotels on the left bank. Recommended for a Paris home Must make reservations directly with hotel. Be sure you are clear on arrival and departure dates

I spent 4 nights in this hotel with my family, booking 2 rooms (Parisienne and Grand Parisienne) and we had a very good time there.|Location: close to Saint Sulpice church and Jardin du Luxembourg, close to Metro stops, multiple restaurants and a supermarket nearby.|Hotel: old renovated hotel which successfully straddles between traditional and efficient, but with some limits due to size of rooms and accessibility. Lobby: courteous, always helpful. Restaurant: we only tried the breakfast which was excellent, and very nice staff. Rooms: the larger room was on the ground floor and had a veranda, beautifully appointed, bed was medium comfortable. Bathroom: heated marble floors in both bathroom and shower, multi-head shower, good toiletries but toilet was separate in a small nook outside the main bathroom area, just in front of the entry door. Extras: we had daily turnover service with small chocolates and on Easter day a nice box of chocolates.|Overall a great options when travelling to Paris, probably better suited for mature couples looking for a classic/romantic environment rather than teenagers.

One always has to draw breath when considering where to stay in Paris but if you end up choosing Hotel De L'Abbaye rest assured it was a good decision.||It lives on a quiet sidestreet in the 6th, a stone's throw from the Jardin de Luxembourg and a warm welcome only partly describes how welcoming this hotel is to its guests.||Of course, it is small but large enough to host small tour groups and there is a danger that someone looking for a truly French experience will find themselves listening to a few too many American voices but that's the nature of an age where the best places get discovered.||It has an outer courtyard and an inner courtyard that one imagines lend themselves to being very inviting in the warmer months and in the winter will give you the sense of being outside without the cold and damp.||The smaller rooms are not small and in the same way the hotel staff are welcoming, they are generously stocked.||It is the ideal place to stay for someone who likes their luxury to come understated and with a reasonable price tag.

Cutest little room 41, delightful yellow flowered wallpaper. Diptique amenities appreciated. Allowed me to check in early after my long flight from Australia which I was so grateful for. Dinner was quiche and a delicious salad. Always love to stay here and will be back.

We have been staying at this hotel for 42 years. We travel to Paris frequently and just returned from a four day stay. The hotel was sold two years ago and the changes have diminished the quality of this once wonderful place. The breakfasts cost more and are not included in the room rate. The quality has diminished. The front desk staff are efficient but not hospitable. Our room was attractive but small and the one chair in the room was so low that an adult could not get up once seated. The bath/shower was very slippery and I had to ask for a tub mat so that I would not fall while showering. The bed spread in our room was soiled. Our room was unmade one of the days of our stay. When we informed the front desk, someone was sent to make the bed but did not clean the room or provide fresh towels. Vacuum parts were left in the hall overnight. When I tried to reconfirm a hotel booking for a car and driver to take us to the airport, I was told that there was no such reservation. The young woman at the front desk subsequently corrected herself. She did not apologize. She also was not helpful when my husband asked for her assistance. The hotel's exterior, especially in the garden, has multiple water damage spots and one of the large street doors is damaged. The lobby area is beautiful, however, the building is showing signs of neglect. Sometimes change is not positive. That appears to be the case with Hotel l'Abbaye.

The pictures are misleading. The hotel was ok, not more. Smells dusty. Old fabrics and tapestry. Also quite a lot of dust on top of the bed headboard. Small rooms. Bath room was clean. Service very average. Absolutely not worth the money we payed.

This small boutique hotel is so well located. It's close to bus lines and within walking distance to many St Germain attractions. The staff is the epitome of perfection....professional, friendly, efficient and approachable. Rooms are beautifully decorated and the main/public sitting areas are tranquil and comfortable. We have often been unsuccessful in booking here because it is so popular. So my advice is to reserve early.

Leuk boutique hotel vlakbij tour montparnasse. Leuke uitstraling. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.
Goed te bereiken met rechtstreekse metro verbinding van Gare du Nord naar metro station St Sulpice. Vandaar is het 2 min. Lopen.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The rooms are quaint, the breakfast was amazing, and the decor was lovely - but the service was what really sets this hotel apart.
For example, we got in very early in the morning after a red eye flight and expected to drop our bags and romp around town before check in, but Nelson at the front desk bent over backwards to have our room ready for us by 9:00am(!)
I would highly recommend for anyone staying in Paris for any amount of time.

Ottimo servizio e posizione eccellente
We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel de l’Abbaye Saint-Germain to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and I can’t imagine a more perfect Parisian experience. We booked the apartment-style room, which felt like a total unicorn in Paris—a two-level suite! The main floor had a cozy and elegant living room with a fireplace, a desk, a comfortable sofa, and a full bathroom. Then up a charming spiral staircase to the bedroom level, where we were greeted by a king-size bed (yes, a king bed in Paris!), another desk and sitting area, and a half bath. It felt more like a romantic Parisian pied-à-terre than a hotel room.
The hotel itself oozes that 6th arrondissement charm—all the magic of Saint-Germain, but with refined touches of luxury and whimsy. You’re not in some sterile chain hotel—you’re in Paris, and you feel it in every detail: the garden courtyard, the classic yet cozy decor, and the warm, personalized hospitality.
The front desk staff were delightful—kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. Housekeeping was delightful and impeccable including an Angelina's sweet on our pillow every.nIght. The breakfasts were divine: buttery croissants, perfect coffee, exquisite jams… and don’t even get me started on the butter—I’m still talking about it.
Location? You can’t beat it. Just steps from Luxembourg Gardens, Saint-Sulpice, and Le Bon Marché (the best shopping in Paris, hands down). You’re within walking distance of all the top brasseries, boutiques, and Left Bank landmarks, and it’s an easy ride to the more tourist-heavy 1st arrondissement—but trust me, you’ll want to come “home” to the 6th every time.
This hotel is romance, charm, and pure Parisian soul. We’ll be back, again and again.
Merci, Hôtel de l’Abbaye, for an unforgettable anniversary. ????
