The staff were very friendly at first, which made me feel confident about extending my stay. I asked via email about adding an extra night and was told yes. I then followed up at the front desk, confirmed it again (with the same staff member), and provided my credit card—so I assumed I was all set.
The day before my original checkout, I noticed my card hadn’t been charged, so I double-checked with the manager. She reassured me it was all taken care of and that I didn’t need to worry.
Then the next morning, that same front desk person told me it was time to check out. I explained that the manager had confirmed the extension, but apparently she had been “tired” the day before and misunderstood me. So the extension was never processed.
I get it—mistakes happen, and I have grace for that. Managing a hotel isn’t easy, and this isn’t the end of the world.
But I did have to pack everything up last minute, lost a good part of my day (writing this while grabbing lunch), and was told I could book a room at one of their partner hotels… for €550. Being expected to cover that cost after their mistake just felt ridiculous.
Really unfortunate, because this place could’ve been a fantastic experience. But after how this was handled, I won’t be staying here again—or at any of their sister properties.
