La Poule au Pot isn't just a restaurant; it's a journey into the heart of Parisian culture, wrapped in an unforgettable culinary experience. There's an authenticity here that defies easy description. It's more than the sum of its parts – it's a feeling, an ambiance, a 'vibe' that you won't find anywhere else.

Dining here didn't feel like just eating out at a good restaurant; it felt like a cultural immersion, a way to experience the essence of Paris through all your senses. La Poule au Pot stands out not because it tries to be different, but because it embodies something timeless and genuine, something that can only be felt and is hard to put into words.

Note: We visited with our 1-year-old daughter and initially found the cozy setup a bit challenging to navigate. However, once we settled in, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time – and so did our daughter, who seemed to really like the food!

8 euros le café : voilà ce restaurant résumé en 4 mots. En 1 mot ? ARNAQUE. Je n’ai jamais vu une arnaque pareille. Le (premier) serveur qui ne sait même pas prononcer le nom de notre bouteille à 140 euros ; le deuxième serveur (eh oui, nous n’avons même pas de serveur attitré, normal pour un repas à 350 euros) qui ne sait même pas ce qu’il sert. « C’est le lapin, c’est ça ? enfin le lièvre ou je sais pas quoi, t’as vu ». Pour un plat qui coûte 68 euros. Enfin, un plat : trois bouts de lapin—enfin de lièvre ou je sais pas quoi — et un gratin de macaronis. Mous. Et le troisième serveur qui ne comprend même pas le français. J’ignore comment les gens qui ont mis en place ce braquage peuvent se regarder dans une glace.

I visited this restaurant, and the manager was terrible. He seemed solely focused on upselling as much additional food and beverages as possible. I ended up paying over 70 euros for just a few items. I wouldn't recommend going there; it's dimly lit, without windows, and not a pleasant environment. The chicken pot was far from authentic, and you can find much better alternatives for half the price elsewhere! Moreover, it felt like a rip-off since they wouldn't even provide a simple glass of water. Avoid this place!

Prix vraiment élevé pour la qualité servi.
Plats très salé,viande sèche,le linge de table doit être vraiment renouveler .
Service à table triste aucun échange avec le serveur et j'ai pourtant vraiment essayer.
A la sortie aucune attention même pas un petit mot sympa.

Expensive food which was ho-hum. Staff felt like they would’nt want to be bothered. Second time dining here. First time was back in 2020 which gave me enough good memories to return but was terribly disappointed this time around. Will steer clear of this place.

Karte und Reservierung erwecken einen gehobenen Eindruck, das Ambiente und das Gesamterlebnis leider nicht. Der Betreiber hat sich entschieden, die Bestuhlung so eng zu wählen, dass der komplette Tisch abgerückt werden muss, wenn man aufstehen möchte. Die Tische sind so klein, dass die Teller beim Essen über die Kante stehen. Das Essen selbst war in Ordnung, aber bei weitem nicht den Preis von 170€ für 2 Personen wert. Die Vorspeisenvariationen waren Linsensalat, Selleriesalat und Eier Mimosa, dazu Salami in Scheiben, Radieschen und Butter. Lecker, aber aus meiner Sicht relativ schlicht. Der Hauptgang im Menü zu 85€ dann Kalbsragout mit Reis, ebenfalls lecker aber weder in der Präsentation noch in der Ausführung außergewöhnlich. Die offenen Weine zu 19€ wurden im kugeligen Bistroglas serviert, kein Erlebnis. Creme brulee ohne jegliche Deko in einer großen Schale, auch diese lecker aber nicht überraschend. Das Team war freundlich und flink, der Restaurantchef hat einen sehr gestressten bis genervten Eindruck gemacht. Die Gänge wurden unmittelbar nacheinander gebracht, wir hatten ein "abgefertigt" Gefühl. 3 Gänge in 45 Minuten.
Zusammenfassend: für die Hälfte des Preises wäre dieses Erlebnis in Ordnung, für die verlangten Preise eine Saftpresse für Touristen und keine Empfehlung.

Alors quoi dire très déçu non pas sur la cuisine même si elle n’est pas extraordinaire c’est bon mais pas exceptionnel pour le prix une musique qui n’est pas en adéquation avec l’ambiance du restaurant pas de place et nous avons été très mal reçu peut être car il ne savait pas qui on accompagnait

Décevant très très décevant !

Prix abominable de toute façon quand c’est pas bon c’est toujours trop cher !
Un chef de rang qui semblait sous extasie ! agitée ! en état second malaisant !
Une serveuse qui ne comprenait pas un mot de français obligé de réclamer des couverts pour les escargots pfffff
Le repas hors de prix pour ce que c’est une mini salade de lentille très salée 4 radis…
Les escargots eux étaient délicieux.
Mais pour leur soit disant spécialité la poule au pot affreusement sèche avec un bouillon hyper salé une catastrophe ! la spécialité facturer un fortune ….. le dessert moyen une crème brûlée pas mal mais le goût n’y étais plus car tellement déçu du reste.

Il locale è sicuramente tipico, con un bel arredamento in stile classico francese, ma secondo me il bello finisce qui. I tavoli sono veramente piccoli e troppo vicini uno all'altro. Il personale comunque gentile e veloce nel servizio. Per noi, eravamo in 5, il giudizio sul cibo è stato abbastanza unanime, buoni piatti ma comunque assolutamente normali dal prezzo decisamente esagerato anche considerando di essere in centro a Parigi. Il vino scelto, di fascia "bassa" visti i prezzi, non era disponibile e ci è stato proposto un'altra bottiglia "equivalente" ma era comunque un vino molto mediocre. Il piatto della tradizione, il loro famoso Poule au Pot, servito con due piattini di riso basmati e una salsina poco saporita, alla fine si traduce in poco più di un quarto di pollo a testa con una polpettina e 3 verdure bollite, un po' di brodo ristretto che abbiamo consumato nei piatti piani perche le ciotoline apposite non le hanno portate (forse non ci stavano sul tavolo) al prezzo incredibile di 46,00 Euro a testa!!! Decisamente molto sopravvalutato, per me un posto dove non tornerei mai.

My experience with La Poule au Pot was deeply disappointing. Due to an unexpected medical emergency that resulted in my hospitalization, I had to cancel my reservation on the same day. Despite explaining this unforeseen and serious situation and offering to provide documentation, the response from the restaurant was markedly unsympathetic and frankly disrespectful.

They insisted on charging a €360 cancellation fee, which is not only exorbitant but also feels particularly unjust given the emergency nature of the situation. The staff’s approach was inflexible and lacked basic human empathy. While I understand the necessity of cancellation policies, there should be room for compassion and understanding, especially in cases of health emergencies.

This experience has significantly tarnished my view of La Poule au Pot. The inflexible policies, combined with a disregard for customer circumstances, have left a lasting negative impression. I had hoped for a more reasonable and empathetic response to an uncontrollable situation. Regrettably, I must advise others to be wary of this establishment’s approach to customer service and emergencies.

Three star food for five star prices!

My husband booked this as a 15th wedding anniversary dinner. We chose the set menu which started with a selection of appetisers which were tasty. The main was the House special ‘Poule au Pot’ which arrived in a silver bowl with ladle and cutlery to match. The soup bowls provided had a meatball in a small amount of broth which was delicious but the chicken was tough and struggled to leave the bone. This main course was tasteless and bland. Desert was a crème brûlée which was great.
Our waiter asked if we enjoyed our meal and my husband explained that the chicken was dry and tough. He apologised for this but when the bill came he asked us if we had enjoyed the dining experience, to which we answered no and he started trying to explain that as the chicken was ‘sauvage’ it was a different cooking process blah blah blah… Nonsense! It was simply overcooked.

Not a good experience and a very expensive one at that. Not recommended.

Quelle déception (ou plutôt quelle arnaque) !
Un service déplorable (le serveur ne sait même pas si il nous sert du lièvre ou du lapin ou je ne sais quoi selon ses dires), des prix exorbitants (un civet de lièvre à 68e servi avec des macaronis au four tièdes, sans parler de l'expresso à 8e, il faudra m expliquer).
En résumé, il y a beaucoup mieux dans le quartier et pour bien moins cher.

A very authentic place with cozy French cuisine! We reserved a week before. We ordered the menu for 2 with their famous chicken in the pot (hence the name). Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the panna cotta at the end. It was very creamy, not like a weird jelly substance you get sometimes. This one contained a handful of vanilla , which made the taste smooth and elegant.
Definitely will come back some day.

Piege a touriste! J avais l’illusion de connaitre la cuisine du grand Jean Francois Piege, malheureusement la cuisine est décevante, le service épouvantable.. aucun français, que des touristes étranger qui arrivent avec leur guide a la main .. il y a tant de bons bistrots de quartier a Paris pour une fraction du prix de celui ci, je ne vous le recommande vraiment pas

Le restaurant est toujours une référence mais nous étions un peu déçu par rapport au menu et la carte qui ne répondaient pas à nos attentes et le personnel pas très accueillant!! Vu le prix, on n’a rien vu d’extraordinaire trop classique c’est juste la signature du grand Chef Piège qui fait le renom du restaurant!

Ambiance sympathique, mais tables serrées et bruit important si le restaurant est complet.
En revanche dès que des tables se sont libérées attention appréciée quand on nous a proposé de passer sur une table plus grande et un peu pus espacée
