Nestled within the scenic Machars area, the Kilsture forest hosts two distinct marked trails that offer exceptional year-round walking experiences. These trails, known as the Woodpecker Trail and the Deer Trail, accommodate cyclists and horse riders as well. While wandering through the thinned hardwoods and larch trees, you'll be treated to captivating vistas overlooking lush pastures. In spring, the air is filled with birdsong and punctuated by the alarm calls of cock pheasants and the melodious mewing of buzzards. Suitable for all hiking levels.
