This trip takes to Akagera National Park, home to many large plains game species and species restricted to papyrus swamp. You will game drives, boat cruise, and camp at Muyumbu campsite on a ridge overlooking Lake Ihema and at Mutumba Hill, the highest point in the park. Lace-up your shoes and hike, mount Bisoke and take the sweeping view around you before descending. With your local guide, you will continue with the famous Congo-Nile trail and journey along Lake Kivu, passing different villages, tea plantations, and coffee plantations. Round it with a visit to one of the world’s most beautiful and pristine mountain rainforest, home to 13 different primate species, including habituated chimpanzees, stunning waterfalls, and a 200m long walkaway that tower up 70m into the forest canopy.

Jour 1: ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our representative for your transfer to Tea house Kigali for overnight stay

Jour 2: SUNSET BOAT CRUISE

Etapes : Parc National De L'Akagera

Our driver guide will pick you up when your Covid results are out for 2 hours, 3O minutes to Akagera upon arrival you will register and go for a short game drive. After the drive in the hotel and later later head for a sunset boat on Lake Ihema in search for water lovers like Nile crocodiles and Hippos, you will sail along the water edge which is covered with several trees, drift past numerous giant hippos on the shore. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge 

Jour 3: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE

Etapes : Parc National De L'Akagera

After breakfast, you will head for a full game drive from the southern to the northern part of the park. The full-day game drive offers you more opportunities to spot a variety of wild animals that you might have missed yesterday such as elephants, buffalos, lions, Masai giraffes, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck coupled with a large concentration of bird life; over 525 species identified.Dinner and overnight camping on mutumba hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Rwanyakizinga

Jour 4: MORNING GAME DRIVE

Today, you will go for an early morning game; the best time to spot animals in their natural habitats. You will drive through northern part of the park where you will have a chance to see a variety of mammals including hyenas, topi, elands, giraffes, rhinos among others. Later you will exit the park and drive back to Kigali for overnight at Tea House.

Jour 5: KIGALI CITY TOUR

After breakfast at the hotel at 8 am, you’ll head to the Kigali Genocide memorial to pay homage to the victims of genocide against Tutsi. Rwanda’s painful past has haunted the country for years; however, their impressive recovery story has turned them into an inspiration. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. The memorial also serves to educate about genocide and peace-building around the world. You will continue to the vivid Kimironko market. after lunch, you will drive to Musanze and check in at Indani volcanoes' residence.

Jour 6: BISOKE HIKE

Bisoke, like all of the peaks in the Virunga Mountain Range, is a volcano created by rift action on the forming divergent boundary of the East African Rift which is slowly bisecting the African plate. The mountain reached a height of 3,711 meters (12,175 ft) after its last eruption in 1957. Bisoke has the largest crater lake in the range.

Mt Bisoke stands at 3700m, it has the typical conic shape of a “perfect” volcano, and in its crater lies a deep crater lake. The high elevation demands extra strength from climbers and the whole excursion can take between 5 hours and the whole day depending on the speed of the walk and the frequency of stops. The ascent typically takes around 3 hours.

During the climb, you will cross a series of different vegetation habitats starting with bamboo forests, then moving into Hagenia - Hypericum forest and finally moving through Senecio - Lobelia bush near the summit. After the experience at Volcanoes Residence.

Jour 7: TWIN LAKES

You’ll be picked up, at 10am for your transfer to twin lakes tour of Burera and Ruhondo, Enjoy a fantastic nature walk around the lake as you lookout for birds and fishermen and later a beautiful sundowner boat trip with outstanding view of the volcanoes. After the experience, you’ll overnight stay at the island at indani volcanoes residence

Jour 8: HOT SPRINGS

You’ll be picked up at the lodge for a transfer to Palm Garden resort in Gisenyi at 10 am. after lunch,  you’ll head for an evening take boat trip to Rubona village (where there is the hot springs) and a market near Bularilwa Brewery known as Brasserie which a beer brewery. Hot springs tour is one of Rwanda’s top tourist attractions in the area and worth a visit and walk around the lake. This hot spring came as result of the sulfur from volcano, the water is said to have health impact by healing muscles. Return to the lodge for overnight 

Jour 9: CONGO-NILE TRAIL HIKE (RUBAVU-CYIMBIRI)

Duration: 5 hours

Length: 16.5 km


In the morning after breakfast, the local guide will meet you at Palm garden, after the briefing about the Congo Nile trail. You will start your hike to the Cyimbili guest house. Along the trail, you will enjoy magnificent views of Lake Kivu, beautiful landscapes, and the agricultural activities of local people from their villages. The hike will take about 7 hours, on your arrival to Cyimbili you will check in and enjoy your afternoon at leisure or go for a traditional healing experience around the guest house. Overnight at Cyimbili guest house.

Jour 10: CONGO-NILE TRAIL HIKE (CYIMBIRI-KINUNU)

Duration: 4 hours

 Length: 13.4 km

At 07:00 am, after breakfast, you resume your hike heading to Kinunu base camp. This hike will take about 5 hours and this hike will be easier compared with the previous one as it will be flatter. Along the trail, you will enjoy the beautiful rolling hills in this area while enjoying the islands of Lake Kivu. On your arrival at Kinunu base camp, you will have lunch and relax the whole afternoon to get ready for the long hike for the next day. Overnight at Kinunu guest house, meals included

Note: Possible to do beekeeping halfway if the guests are interested at an extra fee


Jour 11: CONGO-NILE TRAIL HIKE (KINUNU-BUMBA)

Duration: 9hours

Length: 24 km


After breakfast at 7:00a.m, you will walk for about 9 hours to Bumba. On this hike, you will continue enjoying the beauty of Rwanda through its rolling hills while taking pictures on your adventure to Congo Nile Trail, you will have your packed lunch en route, and after you will continue enjoying the hike to Bumba base Camp. This hike will last about 9 hours. Overnight at Bumba base camp

Jour 12: DAY9 CONGO-NILE TRAIL HIKE (BUMBA-KARONGI)

Duration: 6 hours

Length: 15.9 km


After breakfast by 07:00a.m, you will continue your hiking heading to Karongi, on this day you will be hiking in huge plantations of bananas, this tour will take about 6 hours when we reach at Rwitare Village you will take a boat ride for 20 minutes to Rebero Kivu Resort. On your arrival at the hotel, you will have lunch and keep enjoying the panoramic view of Lake Kivu and the beautiful sundowner in the evening. Overnight at Rebero Kivu Resort

Jour 13: ISLAND HOPING

Etapes : Kibuye Karongi

After Lunch, you will meet your guide at 3pm. You’ll head for a boat trip to visit different islands such as Peace Island, Monkey Island and Napoleon Island named because it has the shape of Napoleon’s hat. Napoleon Island is home to a large colony of bats which a short climb brings you face-to-face with them .Overnight stay at Rebero kivu resort

Jour 14: DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out the lodge and drive to Kigali. after lunch, you will proceed to the airport
