This place was a massive disappointment, and I really cannot understand how other visitors have rated it so highly. ||We arrived about an hour later than expected due to problems with our hire car. When we walked into our ground floor room we were hit by the damp atmosphere and a musty smell and, despite being late, the bed had not been fully made up and the place was grubby and untidy. The small, well worn towels in the shower room were unfolded and crumpled, suggesting they may not have been washed. The shower room was also dirty in places and there was mould on the blinds and the ceiling. There was no shelf in the small shower, which was a huge issue for someone like me with back problems, meaning my husband had to act as the ‘shelf’ every time I showered. ||The dampness problem in the room was so bad that, even though the weather outside was very dry and in the high 30s, all our clothes and the bedding in our room was constantly damp. The only positive was that the bed was comfortable. ||There was no housekeeping whatsoever during the eleven days we stayed there, there was no change of bedding or towels, no cleaning, and the bins weren’t even emptied. ||Our room was very hot and the damp made it extremely humid, with just a small fan to cool it. The ‘high performance wi-fi’ was at best poor, and frequently non-existent. ||As the weather was beautiful we had hoped to breakfast on the terrace, as stated on their website, but breakfast was served every day in the kitchen. Breakfast consisted of pancakes, toasted baguette, cheese, and bananas. Pancakes for a day or two might be okay, but not every day for well over a week. It is the first time we have ever stayed in France and not been offered croissants for breakfast.||The supposed ‘landscaped garden’ has evidently not been touched in any way whatsoever for at least a couple of years. Judging by the size of the trees and plants, the photos on their website and this site were probably taken a good 8 to 10 years ago. Everything has gone wild and is very overgrown, with once pretty roses and border plants being strangled by weeds. The lawns are now meadows with knee high grass. If you decide to wander through the ‘meadow’ and do not encounter any adders or ticks (which are prevalent in that area), you may well tread in a hidden dog poo. As well as being overgrown, the gardens are generally untidy, with dirty plastic chairs strewn amongst the long grass, and various bits and bobs just dumped around the place. ||The swimming pool itself was clean and inviting, however the pool area was overgrown, the furniture was dirty, and beside the sun loungers was a very obvious dog poo. ||We had envisaged spending the warm evenings sitting around the garden table, drinking wine and socialising, as per the photos on this site, but once again we discovered the photos are years old - the tablecloth pictured is now faded and very mouldy, the once bright canopy above the table is rotten and collapsing, and the benches are filthy, with weeds having taken possession of one of them. ||I notice there has only been one post on this site in the past year, but even their description is so totally different to what we experienced, it is hard to believe they stayed in the same place.

The Trades Description Act should apply here. Quite how anyone can rate this above 1 star is beyond me.
I have stayed in the best B&B in Bergerac and this is apparently the 2nd best .... the gap is chasmic !
The hosts are not very approachable and often unavailable.
Breakfast is pancakes , cheese and fruit... every day .
The room was grubby , it was not cleaned once during our 11 day stay, sheets/towels also remained unchanged. The grounds are overgrown and unkempt, and therefore unusable ...they have taken rewilding to a whole new level ! You have to wade through bushes to get to breakfast , and the dog had left a package by the pool ! Pool itself seemed clean and was good to cool off. The covered table outside has a filthy covering and is succumbing to nature, so also unusable.
The photos must have been taken some time ago. Overall very poor value for money.

We spent an enjoyable two nights at this peaceful retreat. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The grounds and garden are lovely. The lavender outside the door to our unit smelled so nice. The wifi worked well. We enjoyed a dip in the pool. The breakfast was delicious. It is an easy 8 minute drive from the B&B to Bergerac old city centre, and it’s also a great location for taking chateaux and wineries in the area.

Décoration rustique qui a son charme. Accueil absolument chaleureux et échanges très agréables lors du petit déjeuner. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Nous recommandons

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cette chambre d hotes .
Endroit parfait à quelques kilomètres de Bergerac et proche des domaines viticoles .
Le calme est au rendez vous et les propriétaires sont très chaleureux.
La chambre sous les combles est très coquette, spacieuse , et décorée avec soin et goût
Que dire du petit déjeuner : très copieux et généreux.

Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Wegen der guten Bewertungen und der Table d‘hôtes, also dem Angebot, dort abends ein 3-Gänge-Menü zu bekommen, hatten wir als Familie mit Kleinkind dort 8 Nächte gebucht. Vier Tage vor unserer Anreise plötzlich die Nachricht, dass sie (bereits seit Monaten) kein Abendessen mehr anbieten. Für uns war dies sehr ärgerlich, da es schwierig ist, abends mit Kleinkind ins Restaurant zu gehen, zudem natürlich teurer. Im Endeffekt hatten wir kein Abendessen, keine Küche und als Esstisch wurde uns nur ein Gartentisch draußen angeboten, den wir selbst mit Feuchttüchern reinigen mussten - ganz zu schweigen von den Mücken.
Insgesamt sind der Garten und das Haus nicht gut gepflegt, auf der Wiese liegen Hundehaufen (vermutlich vom Hund der Besitzer).
Das Zimmer (Les Aubépines) war schön eingerichtet, das Bett bequem, aber unter dem Bett war nicht geputzt und die Teppiche hätten gewaschen werden müssen.
Sehr schade, da die Unterkunft viel Potenzial hat und sicherlich früher auch besser war.
Wir haben uns nicht willkommen gefühlt und fanden die Art der Besitzerin sehr merkwürdig. Andere Familien haben ebenfalls erzählt, dass sie sich auf das Abendessen eingestellt hatten, aber sogar erst bei Ankunft erfahren haben, dass dieses Angebot nicht mehr existiert. Uns hatte die Besitzerin erzählt, sie hätte nur uns vergessen, das war gelogen. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass mit Absicht verschwiegen wird, dass es kein Abendessen mehr gibt. Wir hätten keine Unterkunft ohne Küche gebucht.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber immer exakt gleich: aufgetoastetes Baguette, Butter, eine Marmelade, Salzkaramell, Crêpes (mal warm, mal kalt und wohl von gestern), Orangensaft, Obst zum Selberschneiden, Käse. Schinken wie auf den Fotos gab es nicht.
Die Lage bei Bergerac ist gut, aber man braucht unbedingt ein Auto. Die Straße neben dem Haus ist relativ laut.
Wir sind früher als geplant abgereist.

Gite parfait, chambre confortable et calmes, jardin et piscine très agréable. L'accueil est parfait et le petit déjeuner excellent. Emplacement idéal pour visiter Bergerac et les très nombreux vignobles alentours. Au plaisir de revenir.

Jardin avec piscine enchanteur, chambres spacieuses et superbement décorées… L’Ostal est un véritable havre de paix…
Vous êtes accueillis dans la générosité chez Laurent et Agnès… mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner, un vrai banquet.

Super week-end en amoureux dans une très belle chambre sous combles. Les hôtes sont adorables et très bons cuisiniers ! Proche Bergerac, on recommande !

My friend and I did a road trip for her 40th birthday. This was by far the place I was most excited to stay when I was booking. It lived up to every expectation. The accommodations were amazing, everyone was so nice and really made sure we had everything we could want, helped us organize a taxi for our trip into Bergerac city center, and gave us the most spectacular meals ❤️.

We were in the attic with limited headroom and need to duck under the beam! The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty and clean. The air con wasn't up to the heat and was really noisy, may not be an issue out of the summer. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was nice, served in the garden but a bit limited. Location was quiet and peaceful but you need a car to get into Bergerac.

We visited as a group of 12 cyclists, 6 couples. The Ostal de Pombonne was a real highlight of our entire 8 day trip. Everything from the rooms, hospitality, aperitifs, dinner, breakfast. Above and beyond was offering to collect one unlucky member of our group who's bike failed 12km from the Gite. Brilliant and a 'must stay' in our opinion. Thank you!!

Bien placée, tout près de Bergerac. Chambre d'hôte superbe, spacieuse, un grand lit de 180, très belle salle de bain. Repas du soir et petits déjeuners préparé par Laurent & Agnès, succulent, dignes d'un 3 étoiles......
, le tout avec des produits locaux où fait maison. Ambiance à table extrêmement conviviale, de beaux échanges avec les colocataires et les propriétaires. Donc n'hésitez pas à faire le détour.

Nous avons été très bien reçus durant un week-end pour le mariage de nos amis au Domaine de la Fauconnie a seulement 10mn du gîte.
L’accueil des propriétaires était super, le service impeccable, les chambres, le terrain clos et sécurisé, la nature et j’en passe tout était réunie pour passer un agréable moment.
Cela a répondu en tout point à nos attentes.
Nous reviendrons avec les enfants c’est une certitude !

Excellent, exceptionnel.
Chambre très agréable et confortable. A la campagne tout en étant près de Bergerac. Les petits déjeuners sont très copieux et diversifiés. Laurent nous fait partager ses talents culinaires. Nous pouvons apprécier les différents thés et cafés. Les crêpes du matin, toutes chaudes, sont un régales, elles sont accompagnées de confitures et de caramel au beurre salé maisons. Merci Agnès, Romy et Laurent, on reviendra.

Belle maison, ambiance détente, très agréable, Laurent au fourneau, cuisine savoureuse, savoir-faire et simplicité quant aux gâteaux généreusement présentés au petit déjeuner ils sont tous excellents. Notre chambre était parfaite sous les toits, accueillante, un petit nid. Nos hôtes fort sympathiques. Je recommande et nous reviendrons aux beaux jours pour la piscine et le grand jardin.

Ça restera notre chambre et surtout Table, qui est une TRES GRANDE TABLE d'hôte, préférée ...Laurent est un génie de la cuisine..... tous deux avec Agnès ils sont de très belles personnes qui gagent à être connues et reconnues....nous vous souhaitons le meilleur...Delphine et Benoît

Tout d'abord une chambre superbe, spacieuse, lumineuse, un grand lit en 180, et une belle cheminée en pierre de taille pour parfaire une décoration cocooning. Mais ce n'est pas tout, car l'erreur serait de s'arrêter là! Ne partez pas sans essayer la table de Laurent, une table qu'il m'a été rarement permis de rencontrer lors d'une location de chambre d'hôte. Durant ces 2 jours, Laurent nous a régalé, d'abord avec des petits déjeuners riches en produits locaux ou faits maison: crêpes, brioches, croustillants, confitures, fromages... Puis avec les repas du soir qui furent une expérience sensorielle que nous ne sommes pas prêts d'oublier.

Endroit magnifique, accueil chaleureux, repas variés et d’une grande qualité ! Une perle…
