We stayed here for 4 nights in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Ambience 5/5: Our room had a terrace with a fantastic view of the mountains. The room was spacious. The villa is beautiful and full of character.
Amenities 4/5: Bar fridge, but no kettle, mugs, tea/coffee. There is free guest parking, and a pool.
Bed 3/5: Bed was too soft and springy for my liking.
Location 4/5: Easy walking distance to the town centre, but it's also opposite a police station, and there is a bit of road noise.
Restfulness 3/5: Minimal light penetration around the window. The shutters on the wooden terrace doors are almost completely black out. The noise from other guests carries very easily (I could hear guests coming home later, moving about in their room, even snoring in the adjacent room).
Service 5/5: Staff don't speak great English, but are extremely helpful and polite.
Breakfast 5/5: Great selection including bread, cheese, salumi, pastry, muesli, yoghurt, fruit, and a large range of sweets (cakes, biscuits etc). They will also make you freshly scrambled eggs and coffee to order.

Delizioso albergo in stile liberty situato a pochi passi dal centro di Barga.

La struttura è molto accogliente e veramente bella anche da guardare anche se purtroppo la nostra camera non era pulitissima poiché aveva un bel po' di polvere che volava (odio doverlo ammettere).
Nonostante ciò, prezzi molto molto buoni, così come la colazione veramente ottima e sostanziosa.
Lo "staff" è molto accogliente e disponibile, ci torneremo volentieri.

Un hotel in una villa storica di Barga molto ben conservata, a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro. Decorazioni e mobili liberty ovunque. Parcheggio interno, parco con piscina. Colazione molto buona ed abbondante a buffet. Servizio ottimo. Prezzi contenuti.

A splendid hotel, warm and welcoming.

The staff are so kind, the pool is great, a stone's throw from the historic center of Barga, it's the best hotel of our stay in Tuscany.

With a great breakfast buffet that offers gluten-free options and beautiful rooms, our experience was great.

Beautiful hotel with a “home away from home” feel. Art deco decoration with very well kept original floors m, windows and doors. Great breakfasts and a wonderful swimming pool, and only a stones throw from the centre of Barga on foot. Would definitely stay again!

Un'antica villa im stile liberty a due passi dal centro di Barga, ma comoda anche come base per visitare la Garfagnana e Lucca. Il mobilio è dell'epoca e anche le camere sono in quello stile. La nostra si trovava all'ultimo piano, sotto tetto, con il condizionatore si stava benissimo. Una finestrella dava sul borgo di Barga. Bagno grande e letto comodo. Silenziosissimo. C'è parcheggio privato e una bellissima piscina. La colazione ottima, con tantissima scelta e se manca qualcosa te lo preparano. Lo staff è davvero gentilissimo e disponibile. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

I had an absolutely terrific experience at the Villa Moorings Hotel. Spacious sleeping room, impeccable bathroom, warm welcome, over the top service from Beatrice, amazing breakfast, and fun cooking classes. And the location is fantastic....we could walk to the old part of the city, restaurants, shopping, gelato, and ATMs.

Why didn't I give it 5 stars? The hotel is a bit weak on first impressions. Once I got past that, it was absolutely great!

We stayed for 5 days...what a lovely art deco hotel...you feel your stepping back into the early 1900s!
It was an absolute joy!
Staff where lovely and lovely breakfasts...the view from the turret is stunning!!!
The owner is the granddaughter of the original creator of the building...Leonello castelvecchi who left Barga to start a new life in Largs Scotland and created an empire and made this lovely structure....its ideally situated in Barga and has a large swimming pool...would definitely go back!!!
