We went with a group to the hitching post in Buellton and it's nothing like the hitching post in casmalia not very happy with the food i had the ribeye special the staek was very thin i get better steaks at costco maybe dinner might be better sorry for the poor review but the hitching post in casmalia is way better

I ordered the pork ribs and a baked potato. The ribs had no meat on them and the amount of ribs were not adequate with the price paid. The baked potato was so small that it was finished with a few bites. I will not return to this restaurant. The manager offered me a free appetizer the next time I come in!!! NOT THANKS

While riding my motorcycle through California, I smelled the smoke and saw the World's Best BBQ Steak sign and said I would have to test that theory. I finished my activities for today in Soledad and said today would be the day, so I doubled back the 170 miles to come partake. I called a friend who was 2 hours away and had her meet me there for dinner. They closed at 830 p.m., and our arrival time was 820, and I thought it would be an issue. The hostess not only assured me it wasn't a problem, but she even made me a reservation. We got there, and the place was packed, and the service and food was phenomenal. I had the surf and turf special, and my steak was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. My lobster was light and flaky and so delicious. I also had the key lime pie for dessert, and it was really good as well. I'm glad I came back to eat here and I will definitely be back when I'm California.

Food was so delicious and staff was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice place to enjoy delicious food. Also, the creme brulee is amazing!

Expensive for what you get. Steak was good, salad and potatoes just average. Would not recommend the mushroom appetizer.

My new favorite place I wish I got a photo of my food. It was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and it was a sirloin lol it was so delicious and tasty. Oh my God I cannot wait to go back here and all the people of the bar were so fun and interesting locals visitors. The bartender was awesome I love love this place and cannot wait to go back to the Santa Ynez Valley just to eat here.

Just an amazing experience and the price was good for what we got. I had steak and lobster, wife had Mahi Mahi. Amazing both dishes. Perfect portion. Waitresses so nice. So accommodating.

Part of the "Sideways" experience. Yet, beyond that, a truly solid steakhouse. We've eaten there during every visit...love the ambiance...easy to talk without having to yell over noise...Always great service and good food. And, their house wine is excellent!
Go for the "Sideways" experience, but keep coming back for great meals.

The classic Western Ranch steak house with steaks and other meat taking center stage. You can watch the chef fire the meat on the oak fired grill through a picture window in the dining room. Dining room is super quaint like it was decorated 100 years ago.

Way overpriced and a total waste of money. The quality of the food they serve here is extremely bad. You can get way better food next door at AJ Spurs for a lot less money.

I never really understood the hype of this restaurant. Aside from always being packed the food is mediocre and really expensive. The wait time is ridiculous and the food takes too long to come out. I gotta say the atmosphere is nice and the outside area is pretty. They have some good wines too. But again the food is basic, simple and way over priced.

The staff are superb. They know how to handle the situation when it gets busy on the weekends. I would prefer if the duck wasn't pre-cut but that's a decision some places make on certain cuts of meat and it's a personal preference

I have to revise my previous review.
We had a not so perfect experience a week ago and the owner reached out to us. We had the made up dinner tonight and everything was fabulous and delicious. We even did get dessert, -what a wonderful surprise. Great customer service with all the fixings this time around!!!

Went to the hitching post winery for a tasting and then had dinner at the hitching post II. Both were Exceptional. Many of the staff, including our waitress Tami, had been there for 20- 30 years. It really showed in the level of service from waitstaff and bartenders. The food was AMAZING! We expected it to be good, but everything was excellent. Grilled Artichoke was delicious and you could really taste the attention to detail in the homemade dressing they served with it. Same with the salad. One of the best blue cheese dressings we've had. Steaks were cooked perfectly med rare. The seasonings on the steaks was perfect. The cheesecake desert, also made in house, was probably the best we have had! We would highly recommend this great restaurant.

We had the pork chop with baked potato to go. Pork chop was great but there was nothing for the potatoes, no sour Creme, no chives, no butter, nothing even though I had asked for those specifically. We had 2 soups and 1 salad, got 3 soups, no salad. Very disappointing for that price and it’s not that they were super busy at that time.

We're here every year for Santa Ynez Valley restaurant week, and it's such a treat!!! My wife's filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and my NY strip was excellent, too! Great atmosphere. I highly recommend the wine flight with dinner. It's a great representation of Pinot in the valley. Provecho!

Everything about this place is great except for the cut of meat we were served. The hostess, waitress and all the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was prepared perfectly ????. My only problem was my steak was tough. This is an expensive restaurant and I expected better. I had to cut it into very tiny pieces so I didn't end up with a big ball of nerves in my mouth. The salad lacked real Bleu cheese crumbles although the greens were good. The steak was worth about $13 in my opinion, not $40. Everything else was excellent.

The food was decent nothing special. The streak was a little more tough to my liking and for the price I was expecting better quality. The service was good and the food didn’t take too long to prepare. However the restaurant and the bathrooms were very dirty. I felt like i was at a dive bar instead of a steak house.

This is the restaurant featured in the movie “Sideways” so cool to be able to eat here. Great food good service and it the atmosphere and decor are very quaint.

Was recommended this was the best place for a steak. Ordered a filet mignon. It tasted great but I couldn't cut it with a fork. I expect to not have to use a knife when paying $50 for 5oz steak. Tried the grilled quail. It was good
