L'AUBERGE SAUVAGE

Totally overpriced for what we received and experienced. Dinner, room and breakfast (for two) was 390€, excluding wine and beverages, which brought it to 450€— We wanted to love Auberge Sauvage, because we respect using only local and sustainable ingredients, but it was extremely disappointing, with several problems. 30 minutes before we arrived, the owner called to say she would be absent on our arrival. She sent a text message instructing us on how to find our room. The guesthouse walls were dirty with chipping paint, and the gardens were in bad shape and unattended. There was no closet or place for clothes in the room, only a tiny locked wardrobe with a key that didn’t work. We called and texted the owner--no answer, so we waited 15 minutes for her return. She couldn’t open the wardrobe and put us in another room, which had a small closet with 3 hangers. The bathroom ceiling light didn’t work. Dinner was served in a building next door. There were no lights on the path which was completely dark. There is no menu, it’s all a surprise, so it was difficult to choose wines. Wine list is limited and very expensive. Dinner was good, and the evening was pleasant, but everything felt overpriced compared to other (and better) one-star Michelin restaurants. Jessica asked what time we wanted breakfast, and what beverages we wanted. She told us it would be left for us on the table in the guesthouse at that time the next morning. This was the worst part of our experience. One small pat of butter for two people, not enough hot milk, no eggs—bread and brioche from a local boulangerie, not homemade as stated. No one came to see if we needed anything. We felt totally abandoned, and, I’m sorry to say, ripped off.
They should at least hire someone to help when the owner is attending to other duties.
It was indeed a savage experience at the Auberge Sauvage. The stay left us feeling angry and cheated.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Auberge war rundum gelungen. Die Gastgeber verfolgen eine tolle Philosophie die in jedem Gang sowie im Service spürbar ist. Die Weinkarte ist mit großartigen Positionen bestückt. Hervorzuheben ist auch die gemütliche Atmosphäre im und rund um das Restaurant. Vielen Dank für alles – wir kommen sicher wieder!

Une merveilleuse adresse pour passer un moment hors du temps !
On se laisse surprendre par le menu et la ribambelle de plats servis. Le tout dans une très belle cohérence avec en plus la beauté des lieux et les excellents conseils et la gentillesse de la maîtresse de maison. Grand bravo au chef également qui a réveillé et émerveillé nos sens ! On a hâte de revenir ❤️

Amazing atmosphere and food. Jessica was simply wonderful and the whole evening was a dream.
