We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Stovepipe Wells Village Hotel. A basic room but we had everything that we needed. Itbwas a decent room, clean. The location of the hotel is great. We had a good time at their restaurant too for dinner and breakfast. There is no microwave though but that was okay because we didn't need one. The hotel is very close to the mesquite dunes and that was a positive.

The staff was very helpful every time we had something. The restaurant also had a breakfast buffet option for about 13 dollars a person with a fairly decent menu.

I would stay here again if I visit Death Valley.

This was such a pleasant experience. Rooms are clean, shower is excellent, front desk is helpful. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Best place to stop between Flagstaff and Phoenix

What a wonderful, delightful surprise this little hotel/village was! The location is fantastic with great views of the mountains and dunes, which made for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The food in the restaurant was delicious and hats off to the chef for the great vegetarian options! The saloon was fun, warm and inviting. Say hello to Violet and Paul, who will both give you great service with a smile (make Violet laugh if you can . . . it's contagious!). The front desk staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. A special thank you to Dillon for being such a great host and giving great hiking tips!

A really strange experience as we arrived when they were having a power outage. Being where it is and the time we arrived, there was no option to move elsewhere so we checked in. The experience continued when we went over to the saloon thinking we'd get food and a drink there. They only had very expensive bagged sandwiches and a cooler with a few beers which we bought and a bottle of wine. The bar man was keen to close up before 5 so we took the goodies and sat outside. Considering the inconvenience, there was no offer of anything to make our stay better. There was no shower working in our rooms and the power only clicked back on in the early hours. It certainly gave us an experience to remember and laugh about after!

Panamint Valley!

My stay at Stovepipe Wells Village Hotel, nestled in the heart of nature and operated by the National Park Service, was unexpectedly delightful. Despite its remote location, the customer service and hospitality were exceptional, both at the hotel and its onsite restaurant. The rooms, while modest and equipped with just the basics, offered a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. For those looking for an authentic escape without the frills but with heart, this is the place.

We had an incident with our vehicle and the staff were extremely kind to us when we were stranded. They let us use their Wi-Fi, their cable phones (cellular coverage is not very good in the area) and one of them even helped us with our vehicle. Great people there.

You better stop here and have the BREAD PUDDING and lick the plate. The burnt sugar WHISKEY is also a must try!!!. If you don't your crazy.

It is a drive to Stovepipe and if you blink you will miss it. It is National Park accomodations. Do not expect the Holiday Inn. However, clean and updated. It is quaint. Friendly. Offers hiking and souvenirs. It is a historic small village. It even has a small saloon.

I just spent a week there, and although the hotel rooms were okay, the wait staff is extremely rude. Rude. I guess they feel they can behave that way because they have you trapped being one of the only restaurants and hotels in the area. After 2 days we packed our bags and went to the more expensive hotel where the right staff was a little better thankfully, but certainly need a lot of education on customer service. At the stovepipe I would never go there again! I don't know who was worse. The grouchy sarcastic older woman in the morning are the old man at night who put some gross thing in our salad and then tried to tell us it was parchment paper. Clearly it was not parchment paper but looking like a used nap cloth. The dining experience needs a lot of work and the wait staff needs to be replaced with real customer service. Weight staff. Did not want to leave them a tip at all. And I am the type of person who overtips, so that tells you that they must have been really bad to not get a tip from me whatsoever.. stay away

Nice place to stop for food and gas

You're paying for the location, not the quality. It's hard because this is such a good location and much cheaper than the other option, which is a pricey resort. If you don't mind an average quality room, minimal options for food and entertainment, and no phone service, this is great. Good for someone who is just needing a bed, but not needing an "experience". It was good for us - we were here to hike the sand dunes nearby at night, and have easy access to Death Valley, biking, and Mosaic Canyon. You can't go wrong if that's what you want. But one of our rooms smelled like spoiled milk and the 2 restaurants in town close at 8pm (last seating 7:45pm), so you need to time things right and be prepared for the worst.... pics are of the nighttime hike and the Mosaic Canyon hike.

If you need a place to stay for a great rate and you don’t have high expectations this is your place. You hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors and outside unless you run the ac fan. Besides that it’s a great location, great price, and it’s kept pretty clean.

We had the sand dunes facing deluxe 2 queens room. Fabulous view. Very clean. Room is big and well equipped with fridge, coffee machine and tv.

We stayed at the Stovepipe Wells as it’s one of the only hotels inside/close to the valley. Given the location, it’s really expensive for the services it offers. Although they have a buffet breakfast you need to pay on top, which given the price of the room and offer this should be included.
The rooms are very basic and as soon as we opened the door there was a strong smell of smelly feet that, even though we left the door open for some time, the smell wouldn’t go.
The heater is really old so when it’s switched on it is really, really noisy.
However, the size of the room was reasonable, the staff is kind and they do a fire at night which is nice.

A sad place with uncomfortable beds, unfriendly service and paper thin walls. The restaurant's dinner buffet looked inedible (so we skipped it on favor of pre made sandwiches from the general store) and the service was surly. Breakfast, on the other hand, was surprisingly good and the service cheerful and excellent.

We are lucky to get the last room here in a last minute situation. The service is nice and it’s very safe here. But the room is very outdated and it smells not good. Other than that, it’s a good place to spend a night inside the park.

location convenient to sand dunes, trails, and other attractions; room was satisfactory, bed was fairly comfortable, no wifi in the room; staff was very polite and helpful except for an evening where there were a group of individuals in the courtyard playing music and being very loud past quiet hours - we called the front desk twice and in both cases indicated they would speak with them but did not, resulted in disrupted night of sleep

A pit. Like an old trailer sitting in the backyard. Wifi worked sometimes. Hot spot on mobile phone did not reach anything.

The location is great, it’s very close to Death Valley’s best trails, the rooms were a bit dated but had a lot space.
Unfortunately, there was no WiFi available in our rooms which was very bad.

Notre pire expérience hôtelière au cours de ces vacances aux US ! Nous avions réservé des mois à l’avance et pourtant nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une courtyard room (la no. 2), une chambre miniature sans fenêtre (juste une petite ouverture grillagée proche du plafond donc aucune vue sur l’extérieur). une vraie cellule de prison... Climatiseur hyper bruyant sur un mur horrible (comme il fait une chaleur à mourir on ne peut pas s’en passer), salle de bain réduite à sa plus simple expression, le tout pour la modique somme de 160 USD...
Dommage car le Stovepipe reconstitue un village western au milieu du désert (Death Valley). On pourrait croire que la piscine est un plus (compte tenu de la chaleur) mais elle est moche et sur-fréquentée, il faut se battre pour avoir un transat à l’ombre, beaucoup de familles (très bruyant), essentiellement des touristes français.
Le saloon est plutôt agréable avec un grand choix de bières et d’alcools divers, en revanche la salle de restaurant est triste à mourir, la nourriture n’est pas bonne et tout est vraiment très cher. Bref, nous n’avons pas du tout aimé cette étape !

Hotel sympa dans un très petit village il y a un saloon et un bon restaurant il n'y a rien d autre dans le village reste un peu cher et pas de petit déjeuner bon service accueillant café et cookies à l arrivée belle piscine et très appréciable au milieu du désert jusqu'à 23h très belle vue désert

Avec une température de 114° Farenheit (47 ° C) à l'arrivée l'accueil est lui aussi chaleureux. Le personnel est toujours très prévenant et offre plus que les réponses aux questions posées.
le confort est minimal mais compréhensible pour l'économie d'eau et d'électricité.
La piscine a 10:00 du soir dans ce désert est une expérience inoubliable.

Séjour d'une nuit dans cet hotel. La chambre était propre, la salle de bains moderne et propre . Petit déjeuner simple mais varié. Piscine tres agréable. Le restaurant est un peu cher, mais les plats sont bons et copieux. Service agréable.

Hotel qui profite de sa localisation !! n'y rester qu'une nuit (étape jusqu'à Vegas)! Sinon joli cadre, grande chambre au style rustique confortable avec clim (un must même si elle était un peu faiblarde!!). Piscine/jacuzzi. Accueil simple!

1/ Prix :
Trés cher pour ce que c'est !! Une chambre qui paye pas de mine, pas vraiment de services compris, un rapport qualité/prix pas terrible du tout... Mais, force est de constater, que, en été, dans la vallée de la mort, ca reste le moins cher...et on a pas vraiment le choix !!

2/ Situation :
Situé dans la vallée de la mort, sur la route 190, donc pas mal située. Cependant, l'hotel est un peu trop excentré par rapport au Furnace Creek et aux différnets points d'interets (bad water, zabriskie point, artist drive, devil's golf course...), mais ca justifie la différence de prix (200$ pour le furnace creek ranch). Faites la vallée avant d'aller à l'hotel, en fin d'aprés midi. Comme cela, vous aurez de moins grosses chaleur pour visiter la vallée, puis à la tombée de la nuit, vous pouvez aller à l'hotel et vous serez plus proche de la sortie le lendemain matin (bien sur si vous venez de vegas et que vous allez vers l'ouest...).
Cet hotel est quand meme mieux situé que le Panamint Spring qui lui, est situé vraiment à la sortie de la vallée de la mort...

3/ Personnel :
Nous avons été accueillis par un monsieur, certes, un peu bizarre, mais aimable. Le lendemain matin, nous avons croisé un homme d'entretien... mais aucuns "hi, how are you today ??" malgré un petit "hello"...

4/ Chambres & Sanitaires :
Chambre d'hotel standard, avec 2 lits queen (doubles), comme a vegas, mais beaucoup plus petite, pas de TV (bon, c'est vrai qu'elle n'est pas utile...), juste une petite commode. Nous avons eu droit à un petit seau à glacons, mais vu l'interieur "marron", on a pas eu envie d'en mettre...Moquette au sol.
Dans la chambre, il y a bien évidemment une salle de bains avec tout ce qu'il faut !! les serviettes sont fournis, ainsi que gel douche, shampoing.


5/ Propreté :
Trés limite... Le sol exterieur est recouvert de Blattes, mais nous sommes dans le désert, ne pas l'oublier, donc ca passe... Par contre à l'intérieur, les dessus de lits sont trés suspects, l'odeur pas terrible, le seau a glaçons immonde, et la salle de bain, mitigée... Le tout n'est donc pas vraiment trés propre... Il s'agit du logement de type Hotel/AJ le plus sale que l'on ait eu durant notre séjour (sans compter les campings).

6/ Services :
Pas beaucoup de services... Pas de petit déjeuner, pas de TV... mais il y a quand meme ce que l'on attend le plus..................... UN CLIMATISEUR !! Vital dans la vallée de la mort ;) Par contre, il vaut mieux avoir le sommeil lourd car il fait beaucoup de bruit...
Sinon, on trouve un téléphone à coté des chambres, et une piscine (qui ferme à 23h donc idéal le soir...) et trés rafraichissante meme si l'eau est plutot chaude (normal avec une température exterieure de 45°C la nuit...). Enfin, vous pourrez garer votre voiture directement devant votre chambre, comme dans un motel standard.

7/ Sécurité :
Pas de problèmes, les portes s'ouvrent avec une carte.

EVALUATION GLOBALE :
Hotel trés moyen. Pas trés propre, pas beaucoup de services, tout ca pour un prix élevé... Bienvenue dans la vallée de la mort !! Eh oui, dans la vallée, il n'y a que 4 hebergements : Le furnace creek Inn (le plus chic et le plus cher), le Furnace Creek ranch (un peu moins cher), le Stovepipe Wells, moins central mais moins cher, et enfin le Panamint Spring (à la sortie de la death valley mais encore moins cher). Evitez le camping en été... ;)
De toute facon, la plupart des campings sont fermés en "basse saison"= été

Impression mitigée pour cet hôtel, un des rares de Death Valley. On est en droit d'avoir d'autres attentes vu le prix très élevé (dans les 100 euros au minimum).
Nous étions dans une des chambres les moins chères. Espace réduit, climatisation très bruyante, salle de bains où on n'a pas envie de s'attarder, restaurant très cher avec peu de choix et un accueil vraiment moyen... Alors oui on appréciera la piscine, la déco extérieure et bien sûr l'environnement. Mais bon, est-ce que ça en vaut le prix ? Pas sûr...
