I stayed here with my family 2 weeks ago for 4 nights. The location is fantastic and is walking distance to the French Quarter and the Smoothie King Center where we saw a basketball game. The streetcar right outside the hotel will also bring you to the Garden District. We felt safe walking outside at night and the hotel was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful, the concierge helped us book a swamp tour and a city tour. My main complaint was the cleanliness of the common areas such as the hallways. A good vacumming would go a long way. Also the chair in our room has seen better days (see picture) and obviously needs to be replaced. We had a balcony room which did not have a great view and was very noisy due to the ventilation system nearby but at least we were able to sit outside. Also, it would have been nice if we were able to put some of our own drinks in the fridge instead of just having a mini bar with chargeable items. But all in all, it was a good stay.

Attractive hotel, but it seems short handed. Keurig coffee maker in the room produced room temperature coffee. Dialing the front desk led to ringing with no answer. (What if it were an emergency?)
No answer in a call from the airport.

We had an amazing experience at the Intercontinental. Every single staff member was nice and accommodating. The rooms were extremely nice, and the hotel is very well located. Far enough away from the chaos of the French quarter while being within an easy walking distance. We enjoyed our stay so much.

This was a great hotel in a great location. Close enough to catch a streetcar or walk to Bourbon St. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and were touched up daily if requested. My only concern and complaint would be the handling of an emergency situation on another floor during our stay. The staff need to be trained better on how to handle crowds during an emergency.

This would’ve easily been a 5/5, but the fire alarm went off two nights in a row. I get it, it happens. But the staff in the building did not evacuate or seem to care it was going off. All of the guests were in the lobby confused and tired as it went off in the middle of the night. The staff didn’t react, make any announcements about a potential false alarm, and were just hanging out at the desk minding their own business. This may just be something that happens at this hotel, nightly fire alarm tests, given the lack of any sort of response from the employees. A very odd experience.

Solid hotel. Fast valet service. $ for parking but it's the going rate down here. Rooms were nice, had a balcony, though didn't use it because it was both cold out, as well as there was no view . .. just the street and building across the street. Bathrooms and showers were nice and big. 2 food options and a bar downstairs as well as a little self serve market for the essentials you need. I would stay here again.

My friend and I were staying here prior to a Mississippi River Cruise on the American Melody from AmericanCruise Lines!
Our second night at the Hotel was NOT what it should be. We were woken by a fire alarm message to leave Room immediately & take the stairs to the outside!
I can understand that we needed to evacuate the building in pj's etc. However there wasn't anyone or message to come and see the people outside to give an all clear. We stood out in the rain for about 40 minutes, a fire truck came and then people went back up to their rooms with NO Communication at all from staff to Hotel guests .. Apparently it was a false alarm, but regardless--staff did not feel they were accountable to tell patrons.....or to apologize. There need to be better protocol procedures. This chain is all over the world.
We stayed at this particular Hotel as it was linked to our River Cruise.

We had 2 fire alarms go off in the middle of the night, I understand the alarms, but when we walk down, 12 flights of stairs there's no staff to be seen, no directions from anyone on staff, there was no staff around. Better training is need here.

Stay away from this hotel. They let college students set the fire alarm as a prank. It happened to us twice the past two nights. Management doesn't seem to care and put up with this nonsense. Walked down the stairs twice from the 11th floor to the lobby to only be told it was a false alarm twice set-off by college students. Ridiculous!

During our visit to ICNO, notwithstanding the Mardi Gras festivities, we encountered several unexpected aspects. Primarily, the perpetual state of disarray in the lobby, characterized by notably soiled carpets, created an unsightly environment. Additionally, the parking situation proved challenging, with accommodation only available post-midnight due to parade-related restrictions. This necessitated a cumbersome process of transporting luggage to the front for check-in, reflecting a lack of proactive assistance (6 large bags and a 4 year old to be carried through the side of the building because we were not allowed to enter through the back).

Furthermore, an unwelcome surprise was the mandatory 20% gratuity imposed during breakfast, irrespective of the self-service nature of the experience. The absence of personalized service, coupled with being charged gratuity for actions performed independently, such as retrieving food and setting one's own table, is a practice increasingly observed nationwide. This raises concerns about fair compensation for employees and prompts reflection on the appropriateness of such expectations from patrons.

Very good hotel to host a conference. They are easily able to accommodate a 300+ person event. However, in my short stay, there were two nights in a row where the alarm went off in the building (10pm one night and 1am the other). Emergencies happen, but the alarm only went off on certain floors and not throughout the entire building. Some floors had to evacuate while other floors didn't hear the alarm and were in their rooms throughout the duration of the alarms. Thankfully they were all false alarms, but it's concerning that not all floors were alarmed or evacuated. The staff didn't seem prepared for the situation. Perhaps retraining is needed. If there was an actual emergency this could have been an issue.

Excellent location, just blocks from the French Quarter. Friendly staff, great breakfast, onsite restaurant and bar also really good. St Charles Street car line passes right in front.

Edit: I almost never leave bad reviews nor do I ramble this long when I do.

Woke up twice by fire alarms that turned out to be false. Whatever system-wide issue the building is having does not excuse the poor communication on behalf of the staff. The poor front desk woman had to wrangle a crowd of 60+ angry patrons with no real knowledge on what was going on or even how to get us back to the rooms (elevators were off and stairwells were locked). No sufficient safety coordination when fire alarm went off twice. Allowed drunk patrons to stay at the lobby bar being served while half-asleep pajama wearing patrons were escorted to walk to the end of the block for “safety”.

The rooms are nice but since the alarms soured my mood and I’m awake at 2am….why have a mini fridge in the room that is a “weight triggered mini bar” with nothing even in it. With the price of these rooms I expected to atleast have a mini fridge for my leftovers. Absolutely a waste and huge lack of oversight.

Overall, I had absolutely no particular bad interaction with any of the staff. Some even had outstanding service skills. I usually try and leave positive reviews for employees like these but the rest of the experience has distracted me from this.

Room stunk of smoke and was horrible returning to the smell.
Otherwise, a well fitted n appointed room.
The breakfast buffet was great and awesome omelettes, but just filter coffee available. Service was so so, depends on who's on duty.
Pool does operate outside of summer months!! Why not heat it. Gym was so basic hardly worth a visit.
