Loved this hotel. We didn't have a mini fridge, but other than that I loved this hotel. It is so cute and the staff is so nice and the location couldn't have been better. Quiet at night despite being close to all the fun and while a festival was going on. Very laid back and comfortable.

Wish i could give a lower rating, but the customer service is terrible. You're told you're being transferred to deal with reservations and you sit on the line for over an hour with no answer and when trying to call back to get this handled after finding the number for reservations online through their website you're told you need to speak to the hotel. Have not been able to cancel a reservation for over a week now just because of a backwards system. But per their policy if you don't cancel within 72 hours you're charged for at least one night but even when it's not your fault because they can't help you and reservations can't help you because they don't answer the phone you're out of pocket. What a scam.

I spent four days here in early April. The front desk can be a bit slow to check you in, but the manager has a delightful smile and the bellboys are helpful. You cannot get a better location for spending time listening to jazz and exploring along the river.
It was easy and cheap to take the #47 street car to visit the Garden District. I also enjoyed a ferry ride across the river and back for $4.
It's a 20 minute safe walk to the National World War II Museum, which was my favorite site - I spent 6 hours there. I recommend nearby Peche restaurant for the best foodie meal I had the entire visit.
Beautiful churches nearby were another highlight. I walked to St Patrick's for Mass, and visited the beautiful Immaculate Conception Jesuit church.
Daisy Dukes diner has an early bird breakfast that was delicious. It's a 7 minute walk from the hotel. I also liked Ruby Slippers, but get there before 9:30 to avoid lines.

This hotel is one of the French Quarter’s hidden gems! It has become our go to hotel any time we are in New Orleans. It’s a very short walk to Jackson Square, with plenty of shops, great restaurants and Café Du Monde’s awesome Beignets. It’s clean, modern, priced right and perfectly located in the French Quarter. The staff is AMAZING, always providing quick service with a genuine smile. We can’t wait to return for our next stay!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last week - we absolutely loved it! Clean, quaint, and an incredible location.

The front desk was always kind, and Mr. Charles, one of their fabulous doormen, made sure we got some champagne when we told him it was our anniversary! He made great recommendations for oysters - Acme, and music - snug harbor. He also brought us new sheets when we made a request our first night. It seems the sheets they have may be a little older so they seemed a little worn, but the concern was resolved immediately and we had no other issues. They also helped us book our taxi back to the airport, scheduled at the front door the night before and he was right on time!

The room - we chose one king room. It is small, but since it was the two of us and we were basically in it just to sleep, it didn't bother us at all. It has historic charm with some exposed brick walls, the TV was framed in a gold frame, which added a little touch of fancy, thick curtains that blocked out the light until we were ready for it, and the bed was very comfortable (and I'm finicky about that). The bathroom had a rainfall shower head, which was lovely! Good temperature control in the room as well.

Our room faced Decauter, and some reviews complained about the Natchez river boat noise - spoiler alert, the last time it makes any noise is 9:30PM and the horn lasted less than 10 seconds. Their courtyard is on the inside of the building and is a perfect spot for a quiet cocktail to go when you're not ready for the night to end but don't want to be with the crowds anymore.

Lastly, the location. Wow. Couldn't have gotten better. Short walk to almost everything but still on a quiet street where most businesses were closed by 10PM. Easy walk to Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, the River Walk, Bourbon Street, the French Market, etc. Also close to a pharmacy if you need anything last minute.

We definitely want to come back and stay here again =)

We they say room with or without a view they mean a room with or without a window parking is a little price as well we parked and walked everywhere also they charge 100 deposit that after 3 weeks we are still waiting on the people we're nice and friendly but there are a lot of fees not mentioned on the website

French Market Inn is wonderful!! The location is fabulous. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Very clean, housekeeping daily. We arrived at the hotel in the morning because of our flight. Our room was ready so they allowed us to check in early, all staff always said Hello and had a smile on their face. Our balcony was huge. A plus, our room had a fridge and was decorated beautifully.

It's a great hotel in a great location! The service was on point, and the courtyard was the perfect place to chill out away from the bustle of the crowds.
The only complaint is the bed and pillows... to hard and to soft, respectively. But I would still stay there again!

Fantastic location on Decatur Street, in French Quarter. Walkable to Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and lots of other sites. Rooms are a bit cramped, but remember this is a 200 year old historic building. Our room was spotless, with bed and towel service daily. Our room at least did not have an iron, so either bring your own or get one from the front desk. Coffee shop right off the first floor, a good breakfast/lunch place right around the corner on St. Louis Street. Would stay again!

They changed the parking but I love the place so much I didn't care they still have parking but no valet service parking is in walking distance back to the hotel I kind of liked it because I didn't have to wait for my car !!

The best hotel i’ve been to, they let us check-in super early since our flight was early AM. And we got to enjoy the day and sleep and have coffee all before check-in. Really appreciate the front desk for this accommodation. The pool was a nice add that I didn’t know they offered. The rooms are made out of bricks so no sound came from other rooms. The bathroom was clean and the sunshine in our room was great! Walking distance to everything. Definitely worth it.

June - checked us in and she is great! Made sure all of our rooms exactly what we wanted.

Elysia - super helpful even moved us so we are all on the same floor. All the food recommendations were also on point!!!!! Even let us sneak in our room a little early to decorate for the birthday.

Henry- anything we needed he was on top of it!

Had an amazing experience at this quaint hotel with a beautiful courtyard smack dab in the middle of all the action on Decatur Street. Staff was extremely helpful and kind from start to finish. Within walking distance of Jackson Square, Bourbon, Royal, Frenchmen and the WWII museum.

First and foremost let me say the FMI Staff were all exceptional! Honestly the most friendly & helpful hotel employees I have ever experienced. The building features all the things you expect from the charm of the French Quarter, architecture, exposed brick, quaint courtyards, and high ceilings. The location is great too. We walked to everything during our stay, from the Aquarium all the way to the Italian Barrel restaurant (on the far end of the quarter. Parking can be a bit precarious if it’s a busy day. The lot across the street is not a private lot for the hotel & we ended up driving around the lot for approximately 15 minutes waiting for a spot to open up. We had a spacious balcony room that faced Decatur St. Beds were firm but comfortable. Street noise, restaurant balcony next to ours & River Boat organ music were exceptionally loud. Wouldn’t be a problem if you’re staying out all night partying. Sleeping in would be an issue as the drapes didn’t close completely because of the staircase that led to the balcony. (See photo) There is only one trash can (located in the bathroom), no refrigerator & the microwave is in a common space. (Just so you are aware) The bathroom was decent size, although no space to set your toiletries really. The shower tile needed a good scrubbing. I would advise taking shower shoes. (See pic). I’m uncertain the the air conditioner actually worked or not. The weather was cool at night but warmed up a bit during the day. The thermostat wouldn’t let you set it below 67 & I’m quite certain it never reached 67 degrees in our room. Mid day & at times throughout the night we were slightly warm, but we managed. Our room in general could use some maintenance with peeling wall paper and scratches on the vinyl upholstered headboards, but these minor issues didn’t detract from our stay. All in all we enjoyed our visit, but I’m unsure if we would stay again or try another hotel next time. The Employees really are the star of the show here. They all deserve a giant round of applause & hefty raises! ????

I wanted so badly to like this hotel. The pictures and reviews online really sold me. However, after staying here I realized that the photos used online are only of the balcony rooms and not regular or deluxe rooms. If you actually want a window in your room this is an issue. I booked the deluxe 2 queen bed room.
I personally called and spoke to Barb beforehand and confirmed that our room would in fact have a window and a fridge. Bard sassured me that yes it did. Barb also told me that the view would either be of the garden or facing Decatur Street. I requested Decatur Street. We arrived early around 1pm and they were very accommodating with checking us in. They initially placed us in a dark tiny room facing the pool with NO WINDOW. The window they refer to is the door. No problem my husband politely asked if there was any other room that actually had a window. The front desk man told him no. He told him that's what we paid for. So i go up to the desk and ask myself. The woman was much nicer and personally showed me a different room. She earned me that I may not like it but that it was all they had. It was an attic room on the third floor. All stairs. No elevator with our heavy luggage.. I begrudgingly accepted the room because I didn’t want to be a problem but I knew I definitely didn’t like this room. The third floor attic room was spacious yes but it only had half a window overlooking the tops of buildings (photo included in review). It sucked. There was no fridge or microwave in the room like Barb said there would be. On top of all that it was much hotter on the third floor in general. The temperature difference was very noticeable on the stairs leading up. I made the best of the situation but felt very disappointed during our entire stay. If the windows, temperature and lack of fridge/microwave weren’t enough of an issue the doors on the third floor shut very loudly. It sounded like you were slamming the door. It definitely made you aware when any of the other 3 rooms closed their doors. Even taking into consideration that it was Mardi Gras, our next door neighbors were a group of younger girls and they were definitely an issue late at night because the walls were thin.
Parking was one of the few positives. It’s directly across the street in the Premium Parking Lot. During Mardi Gras or festivals it is pretty packed but you can usually find a spot either way. Be warned that the spots are small and hard to get in and out of. A little trick is that the very front row have Star Spots (pay extra) but they are only on the ends. Most people don’t realize that in the middle are regular spots where you can park. We were able to stay parked in the front row directly across from the hotel for our entire stay. The hotel charges $46 a night for parking which is about average around this area.
The outdoor garden courtyard was surprisingly very quiet despite the surrounding area noise. Very peaceful and relaxing sitting by the fountain. It was a shame the pool wasn’t heated bc it was such a pretty area out there and would have been nice to relax in it.
So yes the hotel is centrally located, beautifully decorated, has friendly employees and is very quiet to the surrounding noise. I wanted and paid for a certain type of room and was given whatever leftover they had available when we arrived. I didn't care for being treated like that. I would go as far to say that it’s shady business practices to pass Balcony room photos off as regular rooms.. It's not an accurate representation of the rooms and gives unrealistic expectations of the accommodations at this hotel.
*UPDATE* The hotel offered a modest resolution after reading our review and asking us to reach out. We accepted it and wanted to include this information in my review to make sure all the information is fair and accurate.

Went for an anniversary trip with my husband and had a great time! The front desk gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne-the service was fantastic. Location is great, just a couple blocks to Bourbon and right next door to a coffee shop. Parking across the street isn't the cheapest, but it's extremely convenient. I'd definitely stay again.
