Really liked it here. Great view from the room. Excellent location.
Stayed here for three nights in total.
Little bit quieter than Nice but easy enough to catch the bus into town.
Plenty of places to eat.
Can recommend if you want to have a little quieter spot but be close to Nice

AMAZING in every possible way. We were lucky enough to spend a week here as a family of 4 with 2 interconnecting rooms. Everything was perfect - service, housekeeping, comfortable bed, breakfast. I really don’t think you could find a better location and I could sit for days and just watch the view from the balcony. We did day trips to Menton, Monaco, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Antibes and St Paul de Vence all super accessible by train +/- bus. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean and presentable with a great balcony and sea view. Location was excellent, close to restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay here again.

Truly lovely hotel on the water, with Jean Cocteau art, services top notch, views are amazing and cannot say enough about the staff who is super accommodating and helpful. Location is perfect along the water and Villefranche-Sur-Mer is perfectly tucked outside of Nice, where you’re close enough to do day trips but far enough away to feel remote and special. The hotel must have spent money on soundproofing because it was so quiet inside the rooms. |Highly recommend.

Excellent location with an "on the waterfront experience. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with excellent bed linens. Breakfast was very delicious. Cozy afternoon bar to people watch and have a glass of wine or a cocktail. We were very pleased to experience a slow paced, immersive stay of 4 days.

We’ve been coming here since the 1990s and love it. ||It’s a hotel where the total is more than the sum of its parts. ||Staff are lovely, rooms with a balcony are sublime. ||There is nothing better than taking your breakfast watching the fisherman plying his trade, the cruiser tenders doing their thing and the world passing by. ||People have moaned about noise, but we’ve found this dies down at a reasonable time. Service from the bar can be really slow, but hey, kick back and enjoy the vibe. You won’t get this ambience in many places. ||I love this place.||An excellent location to visit all that the area has to offer, which is a lot!

Well this is a great place overlooking the little port. This town is very clean and upscale. The hotel is super and one you wish you could stay a week. We had room 46, a suite with a balcony on the fourth floor over the port below. Very clean, good service , first class. Lots of food choices. The trip to/from the train station in vsm is an issue if you have bags. It is a higher level than the hotel. It is about 1km to it. If you go via the street along the port you end up needing to use rather steep stairs. The city is putting in an elevator but I'm not sure it will go from bottom to top. Also note you can only buy tickets on the station side which also has east bound (Monaco) trains. The Nice bound trains are on the opposite side and thus a up and down bag drag over the track complex unless you got your tickets in advance. There is another way to get there by using stairs to the left of the hotel and then getting on the same level basically as the station and getting there that way. Logistically a hassle and if you use a taxi it appears they drop you at the bottom of the steep stairs I commented on earlier.

We love this hotel and will always return. It has an old world charm and the best location in Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Helpful staff. Upgraded room for free with gorgeous view of the bay. Room on sea side was amazing. Nespresso maker in the room. Beautiful terrace with table and chairs. They had valet parking available which was convenient. Highly recommend. Villefranche is lovely!

The Welcome hotel is magical. Waterfront position with views over the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer & Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. The breakfast is delicious and served in china custom made for the Hotel with art of Jean Cocteau. The staff is lovely and very attentive. I can only recommend.

Great hotel in a perfect location. Easy to walk to the train station from the hotel, great little beach club about a five minute walk away. The room is small, but the view makes up for it the little balcony was perfect for sitting outside watching the boats. Many great restaurants within walking distance. Nice helpful staff would definitely recommend staying here

Welcome hotel was truly welcoming. Charming rooms, great balcony overlooking the harbor, great breakfast to set you up for a busy day, fabulous staff to meet your needs, nice wine bar to relax. What else is there to say. Hope we can return.

The front desk staff was absolutely the best, all of them. I received a call from them while on the train to Paris making sure we made it okay. Room was comfortable and view was amazing!

This hotel fell short in every area.
The photos on the website are quite misleading. The hotel is on the harbor - which is not on the beach. It is very loud all day and night. It starts early in the am with the cruise ship boats arriving in droves. And ends in the evening with extremely loud club music pumping until past midnight. There is also a fish cart directly below the balconies and the entire area smells like fish. The hotel was also lacking in the service department. There was a long line at both check in and checkout. We nearly missed our train when checking out. They are very short staffed and use an old system that does not process an express check out.
The hotel also charges extra for every single amenity. 4 Euros per day for a single beach towel! We opted to buy day passes at the local Beach club - Marinières - instead. That was a better value from a team that actually understands service.
Note the Welcome Hotel is not a great base when visiting the riviera. It is quite difficult to get in and out of the town both by car and train. We were very disappointed.

Ambience abounds. Beautiful location and very helpful friendly staff. The only negative were the hard lumpy pillows which made for poor sleep. There were at least 2 pillows per person.

Disappointed to see a nasty review below from someone who wanted to occupy a table without ordering anything, but some overseas visitors don’t respect local culture.
We love the wonderful selection of organic wines by the glass, and the care taken by the staff to select and explain their amazing wine cellar.
