Run don’t walk. This is the best restaurant the Rivera has to offer, anywhere. It is a hidden gem and the food is all we can talk about after going twice in three days. The octopus will blow your mind, the slow cooked beef is beyond insane but the stand outs are the fish in white butter sauce, and the pavlova. Leave room, you won’t regret it.
I think we’ll be planning a trip back to SOF just to go back here.

Great service. Wanted a Fanta and they made a homemade one that tasted the same.
Foods really good. A little pricey since it’s more like a tapas place so you might need to order two dishes.

Nous avons été très déçus par notre passage au restaurant Les Garçons à Villefranche-sur-Mer. Nous avons commandé deux risottos à l’huile de truffe et coquilles Saint-Jacques, à 37 € chacun, soit 74 € pour deux plats. Et pourtant, dans chaque assiette, il devait y avoir à peine 10 à 20 g de riz. Le plat était visiblement sous-dosé, expédié en deux cuillères, et franchement peu savoureux : aucune trace du goût de l’huile de truffe, et seulement trois petites coquilles Saint-Jacques. Lorsque nous avons fait part de notre étonnement au serveur "Ben", sa réponse a été pour le moins surprenante : « Il fallait prendre une entrée et un dessert ». Pour un plat à ce prix, on s’attend tout de même à une portion décente et un minimum de considération. Nous avons donc simplement demandé un peu de pain… et passé notre tour pour le dessert, par crainte d’avoir une grande assiette avec un simple carré de sucre au milieu. En résumé : une belle adresse peut-être sur la forme, mais une grosse déception et arnaque sur le fond. Rapport qualité-prix très discutable.

WARNING! Do not eat here! Worst dining experience of my life. Suspected food poisoning for two of us, and extremely rude staff - including toward our children. It was the most bizarre experience.
When we called the next day, expecting some sort of apology, they laughed and said ”Don’t worry, we are full every night anyway”

Can’t fault this place! From the service to the ambience and the food - all soooo good!! Probably the best meal we had in France during our 2 weeks here. Every single staff member we interacted with was so calm and warm even though it was a full house. Get the beef chuck and scallop risotto, you won’t regret it!

One of the best restaurants I tried in the south of france. The saint Jacques risotto was just insane. I’m not usually a big desert person but they are known for their pavlova and it was perfect and not too sweet.

My family of 5 (me, husband and kids 13-20) spent 2 weeks in France. This was our favorite meal of the trip. Food was delicious and fresh. Nice atmosphere and good service. Our waiter was attentive spoke “Franglish” and recommended good wines and dishes. Would recommend 10/10

Definitely our best meal in Côte d’Azur. It was easy to email prior to our vacation to make a reservation. Service was great and attentive. Food was delicious from start to finish. We had the octopus and tomato burrata starters. Scallop risotto, 7hr steak, filet de sole, and steak for the mains. Chocolate lava cake and pavlova for dessert. All were perfection. A must stop when visiting the French Riviera!

Outstanding service, food, and ambience. Restaurant had a Cute patio tucked between the beautiful small streets. So cute with the hand written menu. Got the truffle scallop risotto and 7 hour beef. Both were incredible. Highly recommend for dinner!

Un excellent moment passé dans ce restaurant avec ma femme ! Nous avons dégusté un paleron fondant accompagné d’une délicieuse purée à la truffe, ainsi qu’une souris d’agneau parfaitement cuisinée. Pour finir, un dessert fait maison, aussi gourmand que raffiné. Un grand merci au chef pour ces plats savoureux et aux serveurs, vraiment aux petits soins du début à la fin. Une adresse que je recommande vivement !

One of the best meals we had in France. The Paleron de boeuf de 7h et son jus truffle (7 hour beef chuck with truffle gravy) is a dream, as was the scallop risotto. Amazing food, drinks and the service was impeccable. Thank you John! Get the pavlova for dessert. Wonderful dining experience. And the ambiance is everything you want on a summer night in the south of France.

I will never go to the south of France and not eat here. It’s a non negotiable for me. The food is amazing and the staff are beyond good! It’s a beautiful place in an amazing setting and the staff are knowledgeable and fun. It’s my favorite restaurant.

Our family is lucky enough to be staying a few streets from Les Garçons and Ben was able to find us a table last minute on a Summer Saturday night. As the Sun went down and the stringed lights took over illumination, we were visited with plate after plate of care and affection. Truly a great first weekend along the Côte d’Azur!

Great service, great setting, great food. We ordered the tuna tartare, the octopus and goat cheese salad. They were amazing. And the offered olives with olive oil and garlic were delicious. And the best of the best was the warm baguette.
For the main meal, we ordered the steak with chiminchuri sauce. It was perfect. The prawns were good and the pasta just OK, nothing special.
PS. When you order for water, they give you a bottle of Evian, just ask for "une carafe" and they will give you free tap water.

Vor 8 Jahren waren wir das erste Mal hier und waren begeistert. Seither jedes Jahr 1 bis 2 Mal im Urlaub. Dieses Jahr, trotz Saisonende, wieder ein Geschmackserlebnis von sehr freundlichem Personal dargeboten. Dieses Lokal ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Best meal of our five days in the French Riviera. I was glad we had made a reservation as the lovely courtyard was full on a Monday. There are two seatings at 7 and 9.
Don’t be thrown off by the chalkboard menu being only in French; they’ll talk you through it in great English. I’m a vegetarian and I had three appetizers and one main dish to choose from. I chose the halloumi appetizer on the waiter’s recommendation and it was absolutely incredible. My main dish was a risotto with fresh vegetables that was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Quand on voit la carte on as envie de tout manger. Produits frais et de qualités. Surtout pensez à réserver. Je recommande à 100 % .
While the food itself was decent, the value for money was disappointing, and the strict ordering rules significantly diminished the overall dining experience.
In the end, I followed my own unwritten policy: bad service or questionable practices equal no tip.
