This hotel's mattresses are very low quality and provide no support (see photos). The middle part in between where two people sleep is the highest part of the mattress. The two sides are falling off the bed frame like pizza dough and the area where the feet are is higher than the head of the mattress. We thought it was just our room but when we asked to change rooms we were told that all of the rooms had the same mattress. The hotel manager Benjamin refused to give even a partial refund, saying it was a Booking.com policy, which is a lie (we have confirmed this with Booking.com). Benjamin's argument was simply the comfort of the bed is subjective but the photos demonstrate otherwise.

Furthermore, the place looks nothing like the photos the hotel uploaded suggest. As you can see from the photos we've uploaded it feels more like a dungeon.

We ended up booking the Aparthotel Adagio Montpellier Centre Comedie next door, which looks exactly like its uploaded photos and has wonderful staff and beds with good support.

Additional edit: in his response, the manager Benjamin is not being truthful.

(1) Benjamin says "your reservation had been blocked for over three months". The original reservation was made on June 21st, which is less than one month.

(2) Benjamin says we arrived at 10 am. We arrived closer to 12 pm (we took the AVE Intl 09737 from Barcelona which doesn't arrive until 11:20 am).

(3) Benjamin says we returned at 1 pm and stayed in the hotel for two hours. We came back closer to 2 pm (I have the receipt from a restaurant proving this). Within five minutes we asked for another room because the mattress was such low quality. When we were informed that all other available rooms had the same mattress we went to another hotel to book another room. The other reservation was made at 2:27 pm (also verifiable by receipt). So Benjamin's comment that "everything seemed perfectly fine… until you suddenly decided to leave" is incorrect as we acted immediately upon entering the room.

(4) Benjamin said "I even offered you a different room which you didn’t even bother to check.". We were informed by his staff that all mattresses were the same so this point is moot.

(5) Benjamin said "with two active reservations, pretending to seek a solution was never really on the table." As described above the other reservation was only booked after we discovered all of the mattresses in the hotel were of low quality.

This hotel is amazing. Ideal location. We were even lucky to get an roomupgrade! The bed slept great, perfect airconditioning, spacious bathroom with nice shower. Spot on clean. Very kind personell. Thank you! Will definitely return to this hotel when in montpeiller.

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel D' Aragon. Similar to other reviews, the location is excellent and very well placed for walking distance to the train station and Montpellier attractions. However, what really makes this hotel stand out is it's remarkable service. May (sorry if I spelled this wrong) greeted us when we with a smile, a wealth of information about Montpellier, and even a willingness to help me practice my French. Ambre also was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and continued to help me and be patient with my French lessons. The rest of the staff was also remarkable! The hotel is a wonderful place to stay but it's staff make it SUPERB! Would gladly stay here again.

Chambre spacieuse, équipée de la clim, literie confortable et chambre propre. A deux pas de la place comédie, l'hôtel est idéalement situé. Et les patrons sont adorables et de très bons conseils pour découvrir la ville et sa gastronomie. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir!

This is an amazing hotel with beautiful rooms and close to the city center.

Perfectly situated - right in the middle of everything. Lovely staff at the front desk, and the breakfast was fantastic.

Ich kann das Hotel leider gar nicht empfehlen. Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, die Fenster zur Straße dämmen auch kaum Geräusche, so dass man denkt die Leute auf der Straße stehen im Zimmer. Alles in allem sehr in die Jahre gekommen und ohne Stil. Parken ist eine Katastrophe

When we decided to spend a weekend in Montpellier whilst visiting Lyon, I researched places to stay. Hotel d’Aragon was listed pretty high on Trip Advisor…I read the reviews and most guests seemed very happy about it! Well, we witnessed the charm, quaintness and warm hospitality of Julie, Ambre and the whole team, during our 3-night stay! Granted there’s no elevators, but the staff insisted on taking our luggage to our room! Room was clean, spacious, and the bathroom was quite big by French standards! Breakfast in the veranda was nice, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location wise, it was only a 2-minute walk to the famous Place de la Comedie, where all the action is, which meant you were close enough and far enough from the buzz coming off the square! The other bonus was that if you were coming by train, the hotel was within walking distance from La Gare Montpellier Saint Roch. We highly recommend Hotel d’Aragon and we would seriously consider booking it again if and when coming through Montpellier! Merci a toute l’equipe de l’Hotel d’Aragon! Service premiere classe!!

Très agréable séjour à Montpellier, petit hôtel très charmant , idéalement situé à deux pas de la place de la comédie . Chambre très confortable et spacieuse. Grande salle de bain . Personnel très sympathique et hôtel géré par un couple très accueillant et très serviable. À conseiller sans hésiter !

Nous venons d’y passer 3 jours. Cet hôtel à deux pas de la place de la Comédie, est une merveille en soi. D’allure authentique et d’époque, d’une propreté exemplaire, et très intimiste, n’oublions pas l’accueil que nous y avons reçu. Mai, la jeune dame qui nous a reçu, nous a vite fait d’oublier la fatigue qui nous accablait. Sa gentillesse hors norme, nous a fait sentir comme si nous étions chez notre meilleure amie. Son sourire contagieux et son écoute ….quel bonheur! Toujours au devant de nous pour nous plaire. Bref dans cet hôtel haut de gamme, nous avons vécu le bonheur en 3D. Un très bel hôtel avec un service exemplaire. Jolie chambre meublée avec goût. Petit déj buffet très complet. Situation idéale pour visiter la ville à pieds ou tram. À 5mn de la gare. Éviter de circulation en voiture, car le plan de circulation est atroce. Très bons resto proches.

I really enjoyed my stay here, travelling solo it was a home away from home. Four nights in Montpellier, this hotel is right in the heart of the town on the border of a big public square and on the edge of the old town. Waking distance to almost everything, and a great inexpensive tram system when needed. The room was quiet and clean, cleaned daily which I'm not used to post-covid. But the heart of the hotel is the staff. They were engaged and pleasant and convivial and just made one feel comfortable and welcome. That means a lot.

Hôtel très agréable, accueil super sympathique, chambre spacieuse et de qualité, petit déjeuner excellent. Idéalement situé proche de la place de la comédie, je recommande vraiment!!!

Nous avons passé 3 nuits à l'hôtel daragon. Emplacement top à proximité de la gare Saint Roch et à quelques mètres de la place de la comédie. Personnel très sympa réactif et à l'écoute. Chambre agréable et propre. Petit déjeuner copieux. On reviendra. Belles fetes de fin d'année à tous.

Belle chambre spacieuse à deux pas de la place de la comédie. Déco sympa, lit king size très confortable et le tout dans une ambiance très calme. Le petit déjeuner est classique avec libre service mais avec des produits du jour servi dans une terrasse intérieure ombragée.

Cadre de l'hôtel et service excellent , pour se reposer ou autres tout cela à deux pas du centre-ville !
Que demander de mieux ???? ! Avec une petite note de musique rétro lors du petit déjeuner qui avec le cadre de l'hôtel ???? on reviendra !!!

Nous sommes venues, ma fille et moi, agréable surprise, cet hôtel est très bien placé, nous sommes allées au corum à pieds le soir c'était parfait. Le petit déjeuner est servi dans une petite salle très jolie et le petit déjeuner bio est sublime.
L'accueil et le service sont tres pros nous reviendrons c'est certain.

Un super hôtel, très joli, très sympa, très bien placé, idéal pour visiter la ville à 1 mn de la place de la Comédie, avec une équipe très sympa, vraiment au petits soins et que je remercie d'ailleurs pour les judicieux conseils ! Chambre très agréables, propres et très bon rapport qualité-prix. Entre ça et un Airbnb de base, il n'y pas photo !

Underbart typiskt franskt hotell på en lugn gata. Nära till allt. God frukost som kanske kändes lite dyr. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Mysigt rum i blågröna toner.
