It’s located in small lanes and very difficult to park your car.

Reception
Staff is nice but showing impatient while being asked question. Receptionist asked me why I am waiting for while I was waiting friends outside. It’s totally inappropriate question to ask customers why you are waiting here, very weird. Haven’t had any experience like this while stayed in 5-star hotel. While I asked for parking area, receptionist is not helpful but asked for velvet service which is not seen in other 5-star hotel. Receptionist replied with you just go and see with sign by yourself rather than showing specific parking map and area.

Velvet service
Hotel located in small lanes and only temporary drop off area. While I carefully parked my rental car at temporary drop off area, velvet stuff showed impatient attitude and opened arms to me caused he thought it’s too slow.

Room
It’s good with famous toiletries but it doesn’t guarantee with good service. Shower is without class to stop spilling water from shower which is weird design. Haven’t seen like this in other 5 star hotel.

Velvet service is terrible with holding your car key and waiting for tips

J’ai eu le plaisir de séjourner au Domaine de Castillon, et je ne peux que le recommander chaleureusement. Le cadre est tout simplement magnifique, paisible et propice à la détente. Le personnel est exceptionnellement gentil, toujours souriant, attentionné et à l’écoute, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus agréable.

Côté restauration, c’est un véritable sans-faute : chaque plat est préparé avec soin, plein de saveurs, mettant en valeur des produits frais et de qualité. Une cuisine exquise, qui mérite vraiment d’être découverte !

Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe pour cet accueil irréprochable et cette belle expérience. J’y reviendrai avec plaisir !

Le Vieux Castillon is a 5-star hotel located in the little village of Castillon-du-Gard, near the famous Pont-du-Gard attraction. ||We normally shy away from fancy hotels because they can be pompous, with things like dress codes for dinner and mandatory valet parking. Although this hotel offers valet parking, it’s not required and free parking can be found nearby in the village. And while you’ll probably feel better dressing up a bit for meals in their pretty restaurant, Le Vieux Castillon was not a snobbish hotel and we found them very welcoming and accommodating. ||The hotel is a collection of 18 medieval buildings, with 34 rooms spread around a beautiful, big central courtyard, or in an adjacent building with its own mini-courtyard. There may well have been other rooms in other buildings too. A small stone bridge crosses a nearby lane to get to the restaurant and gorgeous pool that incorporates part of the original town walls into its design.|The overall look is what you’d want in southern France: subdued contemporary colors, stone walls, leafy courtyards. Light, bright, and airy.||Guests can drive their cars up a very narrow street (Rue Turion Sabatier) to a temporary loading area right across from the hotel entrance to unload luggage, and either have their car driven back to a private valet lot, or they can park the car on their own at free parking spaces nearby. Using the valet costs about 12€ a night.||The hotel layout means no two rooms are alike. We reserved a junior suite with shower and King bed and were led to a wonderful room (#4) off the main courtyard. The entry had a little window overlooking the courtyard, and ample storage space. A white canopy was draped over the bed lending a dramatic touch. There were side tables and a small set-up for coffee-making. The adjacent room had a comfy couch, table and TV. The bathroom was of good size with a great shower. Hairdryer, robes, nice toiletries were all provided.||There were windows in the rooms, though being on the ground floor, they looked out to the quiet side lane. When I opened one to check on the weather I saw the woman across the lane watering her flowers. Being on a higher floor might have been better, but only so many rooms were of the type we reserved. We definitely liked being just off the main courtyard, so its beauty could greet us each morning enroute to breakfast.||The hotel restaurant is a spacious indoor-outdoor affair. The generous breakfast buffet was set up in a side room and after serving themselves most guests gravitated to the outdoor area which overlooks the pool. Staff was attentive and helpful. The restaurant also served dinner, which on our visit featured a menu of small-plates, like Spanish tapas. Because we found enough vegetarian options on the menu, we had dinner there and thought it was very good. ||The hotel also runs a pretty cafe in the town square called Joio. Unfortunately, the menu never appeared to have any vegetarian options, so we did not patronize it. ||Overall, Le Vieux Castillon is the sort of dreamy hotel you never want to leave. It has the sunny, uncluttered charm that so many associate with this part of France. Not surprisingly, it has been featured in glossy travel magazines. We were lucky to have chosen to stay there!||Note: tipping is generally unnecessary in France as service is included in all bills. Yet you’ll also read that if you found service especially good, it’s acceptable to round the bill up or leave a few extra euros. We did that for each meal at the hotel. Upon check-out we were surprised they knew the total amount of tips we had left, and that that amount had been deducted from our hotel bill. This meant that our leaving a little additional tip was pointless, since in the end we didn’t pay any. We accepted this policy without questioning, but this was the only hotel that did that during our entire 3-week trip through France

Nous avons séjourné en famille dans cet hôtel et avons passé un excellent moment. Le personnel est attentionné et à l’écoute, ce qui rend le séjour d’autant plus agréable. Un lieu idéal pour se reposer et profiter d’un cadre paisible.

Quelle agréable soirée passée au restaurant du Vieux Castillon toute l’équipe était très agréable en particulier la serveuse Camélia !! Très souriante et sympathique

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable à l’Hôtel du Vieux Castillon. Le cadre est tout simplement magnifique, niché au cœur d’un village chargé d’histoire, avec une vue imprenable et une atmosphère apaisante. Le personnel a été d’une grande gentillesse, toujours souriant, attentionné et très professionnel. La chambre était élégante, confortable et parfaitement entretenue. Mention spéciale pour la piscine chauffée, idéale pour se détendre dans un cadre d’exception.
Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour ce moment suspendu – nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Magnifique hôtel où nous sommes déjà venus deux fois. Chambres magnifiques, superbe petit déjeuner, excellent restaurant gastronomique (et Joio très bien aussi). Service impeccable. Parfaitement adapté pour un séjour avec un enfant de deux ans. On nous a préparé un menu enfant chaque soir. Piscine chauffée très agréable ! Magnifique village! Je ne saurais le recommander suffisamment!

Court séjour à l'hôtel du vieux Castillon. Équipe jeune , accueillante et disponible. Le lieu se prête à la détente .Très bien situé pour des randonnées ou la visite d'Uzes et de la région.Les chambres sont spacieuses et agréables.

Salomee was extremely helpful, knowledgeable with great communication skills. She is fluent in English, very pleasant and welcoming.

We had the most wonderful stay at La Vieux Castillon! The hotel and views were idyllic, the staff kind and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. We visited as we are considering hosting an event at the property, and were particularly impressed with Salomée, who was professional, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of our questions. In short, we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape the city and recharge!

Wonderful stay at the hotel! The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. The food at the restaurant and at Joio were delicious and creative. The surrounding areas are also picturesque. We felt relaxed and taken care of here. The staff, especially Salomee was helpful and attentive. Pipo was cute and the highlight of our trip. Would definitely love to visit again if we have the chance.

Un magnifique hôtel d’une quiétude incroyable… le personnel est aux petits soins avec une mention toute particulière pour Marine et Momo à l’accueil qui se mettent en quatre pour vous être agréables … piscine magnifique et tres bon restaurant . Le petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet est généreux et qualitatif

Très très bien! Clin d’œil à la personne de l’accueil ???? un lieu paisible où chaque détail est soigné. Difficile de ne pas arriver à s’évader dans ce havre de paix où tout est beau et où chaque membre du personnel est au petit soin. On sent que l’ambiance équipe est très bonne. J’ai tout apprécié: la qualité de la chambre, la piscine et son très beau point de vue, la table gastro et le service piscine, les petits patios cosy où il fait bon se détendre, et le spa où j’ai eu un massage relaxant, apaisant et très pro. Une parenthèse hors du temps et pour moi un rêve accompli car je suis cet établissement depuis quelques années, notamment sur Instagram, en me promettant un jour d’y aller. C’est chose faite! Merci ✨

Dans le charmant village médiéval du Castillon-du-Gard, au détour de la place du village, dans une petite ruelle se niche ce qui semble une charmante petite bâtisse. Dès l’entrée se produit le miracle H8 : un accueil extrêmement chaleureux, une décoration épurée mais extrêmement douillette, le parfum du Sud. Puis, la petite bâtisse se révèle être un ensemble somptueux, où se succèdent un ravissant patio tout en fraîcheur, une magnifique terrasse de restaurant surplombant une superbe piscine, elle même ouverte, au travers d’un vestige d’un mur d’enceinte du village, sur toute la vallée et les monts jusqu’au Ventoux. Les chambres sont toutes différentes mais toutes charmantes et du plus grand confort. Le personnel est adorable, la direction attentive à tout et aux moindres désirs des clients. Nous avons passé des vacances de rêve dans un hôtel de rêve ! Merci encore à tous ! Nous n’avons qu’une hâte : revenir très vite !

Meme pour une nuitée, c'était une escapade hors du temps dans la douceur de l'automne. ||Nous avons eu la bonne surprise d'un surclassement, nous ne regrettons pas cette étape au Vieux Castillon qui nous laissera un doux souvenir.
