Propriété de la famille Guillard depuis 2019, le Château Hôtel Grand Barrail compte parmi les adresses luxueuses de Saint-Émilion.
Entouré d'un parc de 7 hectares, le Château Hôtel Grand Barrail***** est le seul à avoir été édifié au XIXe siècle sur la rive droite bordelaise. Réparties dans le château et ses dépendances, les chambres sont comme des écrins de luxe. Si l'aspect extérieur du château a été conservé, la décoration intérieure, le restaurant, l'accueil ainsi que le bar ont été totalement repensés par l'architecte Jean-Philippe Nuel et les 37 chambres extérieures ont été entièrement rénovées en 2023.

Absolutely amazing. The grounds and property are gorgeous. The staff was lovely and very attentive. The breakfasts were fabulous. Room was great and bed was so comfortable.
We stayed for dinner one night and that was also fantastic - you just need to book ahead of time (people in other reviews seem to have forgotten the simple art of “booking a reservation”, which is… common everywhere).
We had a perfect stay here - don’t hesitate.

I don’t usually complain or come to this point to even write about it unless it happened few times :
Breakfast : Decent, few options and a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel. We waited 20 mins to get coffee and then eggs we ordered we thought we are the only ones but turns out other people had the same issue
Lunch : don’t even know where to start, first we were standing there waiting to get someone to talk to instead of interrupting them during their service, they completely ignored us. Second, we showed up way before service ends, gently asking for a table turns out that we couldn’t get a table because we didn’t book ahead. However, we are able to get snacking menu, fine, let’s order. It wasn’t possible before we were there during lunch time ( we can’t order lunch ) but we cannot order snacking food either because we can only order starting from 2pm ( we tried to order at 1:56 ).
Room service : we kept calling so many times to get some food but it was very hard to get someone answer the call until we called reception. On top of that we had to wait for almost an hour ( yes 1Hour ) for the simple salade and pasta !
Reception/ check in, Housekeeping, Spa, very friendly and very efficient.
I had high hopes about this place and compared it to where my other friends are staying ( Hotel De Pavie ) turns out, this place has a lot of catch in terms of quality service to reach the same level. It’s a shame because the location and the hotel are quite charming.

Nous avons mangé un midi au Petit Barail,
Le cadre est magnifique, le personne est très gentil et professionnel.
Les plats étaient excellents, la formule a 42€ est un excellent rapport qualité prix.
