An idyllic setting, spacious elegant rooms, serene swimming pool area, high-end bathroom fixtures, possibly one of the best showers in France, arguably one of the best breakfasts, and definitely one of the sweetest hosts.

Sandrine the proprietor was a gem - her typical French breakfasts bursting with an assortment of home made delicacies were a treat that we looked forward to everyday, and she also staged a very generous wine-tasting session for us that not only allowed us to sample many of their excellent wines, but gave us a personalised insight into her life and local history. This was one of many small touches that made our stay extra special. We would not hesitate to recommend Chateau Mothe du Barry to anyone seeking an authentic, luxurious and intimate chateau experience in Bordeaux.

Exceptional establishment we stayed on the way to visit family in the Bordeaux region. The upscale chambre d’hôtes as it is called in French are very spacious and an out of this world showers along with many amenities such as high end fair trade coffee, Damann teas, and wine available for a glass in the fridge as well as the ability to peruse the great choices of the wines. This is a 9th generation family vineyard and the owners take tremendous pride with their workmanship as well as their care for each guests. Merci

A lovely 2 night stay hosted by the equally lovely Sandrine. |Great quiet location within 15mins of St Emilion. Most enjoyed relaxing at the pool and eating a delicious breakfast prepared fresh each morning. Sandrine is very hospitable and lovely to talk to. The comfortable room (black and red room) has the best shower in the world. We will think back very fondly of our time here.

What a beautiful and picturesque place to stay. An amazing open plan room with a fantastic shower. Breakfast was super, different everyday and our hostess made extra effort to cater for my wife’s gluten intolerance which was much appreciated. It was lovely to sit by the pool and look at the view when the weather permitted and we saw lots of local wildlife too including Storks and Lizards.

We stayed here a day before our friends' wedding at another Chateau nearby. Chateau la Mothe du Barry is a gem of a place run by 10th generation winemakers. Sandrine was the kindest host who made us feel at home right away. She made us home-made breakfast that was just refreshing and delicious. Place was clean and tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. The location is perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway with several wineries nearby. Thank you for everything, Sandrine!

Je suis ravie de mon séjour ! Un accueil chaleureux, sympathique, une hôtesse avec une très grande gentillesse ! La chambre était propre, magnifique, un endroit calme au milieu des vignes ! Un petit déjeuner très copieux, fait maison et avec des produits régionaux ! Minette saura aussi vous accueillir de façon très câline ???? !!! Tout était parfait !! Vous pouvez vous y rendre les yeux fermés !!

Merci Madame Duffau Tout était absolument parfait. Les 3 chambres au design contemporain toutes différentes dans un esprit loft, l’espace commun où nous avons pu nous retrouver en famille pour prendre notre petit déjeuner gourmand confectionné par vos bons soins….passer une belle soirée dans cet espace vigneron réinventé et déguster les vins bio du domaine…
Une escale incontournable pour les amoureux de nature,
Des domaines viticoles de l’entre deux mers, et des vertes collines.
Chouette très chouette.
Un très bon souvenir pour notre famille.

Een nacht doorgebracht in deze b&b. Omdat er verder geen andere gasten waren, kregen we van de gastvrouw Sandrine een upgrade naar haar mooiste kamer, met een eigen terras en rechtstreekse toegang tot het zwembad. Maar voordat we ons bij het zwembad installeerden, bood ze ons een glas wijn uit hun eigen chateau en nog een verfrissing aan. Koffie, thee en koud water konden onbeperkt worden genuttigd.
Onze kamer was prachtig, met airco en een geweldige badkamer met rainshower. Omdat ze zelf geen diner serveerden, zijn we daar voor naar een restaurant in een naburig dorpje gegaan. Maar het ontbijt werd wel door Sandrine verzorgd, en was geweldig met heerlijke streekgebonden of zelf gemaakte producten. Na het ontbijt hebben we nog een hartstikke leuk gesprek gehad met Sandrine en hebben we tevens van de mogelijkheid gebruik gemaakt om wat heerlijke wijntjes aan te schaffen. Daarna hebben we met een goed en voldaan gevoel onze weg vervolgd.
Mocht je hier in de buurt een overnachtingsplek zoeken, dan is deze lokatie zeker een paar omrijkilometers waard.

Que dire si ce n'est que l'expérience s'est avérée être une vrai parenthèse de bonheur. Il s'agit d'instants rares, orchestrés par des hôtes simples et véritables orfèvres du bon goût, dans tous les sens du terme.

Merci à Sandrine et Joël pour leurs passions, perceptibles partout pour notre plus grand plaisir.C'était un vrai grand weekend, la tête dans les étoiles, au bord de la piscine, où l'on s'est pri á rêveŕ de tout et de rien, juste là à contempler le ciel, et de se sentir chanceux pour ce moment d'exception soufflé plus tôt par Sandrine.

Le petit déjeuner avait tout d'un grand. Encore une fois, félicitations pour ce que vous êtes, faites, nous reviendrons à n'en pas douter !
