Great hotel and concept, but VERY VERY NOISY...
We spent 3 nights at Residence Nell. It is a truly great place, fabulous vibrant location, friendly, professional and efficient staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice decor, superb concept and design...
However, if you want a quiet and dark room to sleep, look elsewhere... the hotel is on top of several restaurants and bars and the noise goes on until the early hours of the day and start again at 7 am or earlier... the windows clearly do not do much and it seems as if you are sleeping on the sidewalk... no black-out curtains on the room either... We were on the second floor and had a street lamp right in front of the windows which meant we had light all through the night... we used ear plugs the 3 nights and it helped a little, but if you are not used to noise, you will wake up exhausted after a sleepless night...

Excellent ! Very friendly and hospitable staff. Apartments are well appointed and stay was very comfortable.

The highlight of this place os the staff, they are rare gems, very helpful, polite and constantly go above and beyond. The property is well maintained, clean and centre location. Highly recommended.

The front desk team makes the overall stay a true pleasure. They are professional, thoughtful and polite. Put my luggage inside my room before my arrival.
There was a small mishappening with housekeeping, but it was ok.
The rooms are very spacious especially for Paris standard and very clean. A great location with lots of food/cafes/supermarket options. You can walk to everywhere.

NOISE.
On our second night, a Wednesday, the restaurant under us was buzzing until midnight with al fresco dining. There is not any proper noiseproofing, probably because of the window types, and even if there was, I’m not sure it would have been enough.
Then at 3pm I was woken by some crazy guy ranting loudly in the street for over half an hour. Despite 24h desk reception it doesn’t seem anyone did anything about him. Eventually he disappeared but I was now wide awake.
Just as I was finally getting back to sleep the fire alarm went off full blast at 6am. It wasn’t switched off for at least 6 minutes. By which time everyone was starting to get clothes on and leave the building. It turned out to be triggered by a drunk guest returning to the building with a cigarette in hand. Ok….but if the place is staffed couldn’t they manually turn off the alarm rather than waking up the entire building like this?
Clearly there are some design improvements needed in this building: noiseproofing of windows, manual override of fire alarms, and more hawkish behaviour from the night concierge to deal with issues when they arise.
Unfortunately it ruined the stay and I can’t recommend this place to anyone who is even vaguely noise sensitive.
