I got the assorted dumplings (different classic dim sum steamed dumplings) & beef fried noodles (like chow mein in the States) and it was so good! In the states the noodles would be so greasy but it was delicious and just the right amount of oil. Also the most lovely couple is running this place and they deserve more love!

I came in today with high hopes and left incredibly disappointed. I ordered spring rolls, rice with shrimp and pork, and roasted pork ribs. What I received was barely enough to satisfy one person. The portions were shockingly small for the price, and to top it off, the total came to an outrageous 61 euros. I felt completely ripped off.

This place feels like a classic tourist trap—overpriced, underwhelming, and banking on one-time visitors who won’t return. I’ve had far better meals for half the price elsewhere. Save your money and skip this spot. I definitely won’t be recommending it to anyone.

Elysees Mandarin is the best Chinese restaurant in Paris. The food is delicious and a good value. My wife and I ate there for lunch yesterday. The hostess was very kind and helpful. My wife had the shrimp lo mein and I had the Pékiné soup (hot and sour soup) with pork dumplings served in a decorative bamboo steamer. My soup was thick and hearty and flavorful. The noodles in my wife’s lo menu tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was very cozy and authentic and relaxed. I highly recommend eating here while you’re in Paris. My wife and I will come back here!!

Worst Dining Experience Ever – A Complete Rip-Off

I had high hopes when I walked into this restaurant, but everything quickly went downhill. From the moment I sat down, it was clear this place was more interested in overcharging tourists than serving quality food.

First of all, the portions are ridiculously small for the price. I ordered a main dish and was shocked at how little food was on the plate. I left feeling hungry after spending 40 euros—absolutely outrageous. The food itself was bland and clearly not fresh. I suspect a lot of it is pre-frozen because the texture and taste were off. This is not authentic Chinese food by any stretch of the imagination.

What really pushed me over the edge was the service. The staff, especially the owner, were pushy and constantly trying to upsell overpriced drinks and desserts. It felt like every interaction was a sales pitch. At one point, the owner came over and tried to guilt-trip us into ordering more expensive items. It was incredibly uncomfortable.

The place itself is shabby, and the hygiene standards are questionable at best. The table was sticky, and the cutlery didn’t look properly cleaned. I can’t believe they charge so much when they can’t even keep the restaurant in decent shape. I didn’t dare visit the toilets after seeing how dirty the dining area was.

On top of everything, they added hidden charges to the bill. We were charged 4 euros for tea per person, which in most places comes free, and the desserts were way overpriced for what we got. Worse still, when the bill arrived, it was handwritten with inflated prices and no way to check if they were legitimate. It felt like a blatant attempt to rip us off. I’ve never felt so scammed at a restaurant.

The reviews online must be fake or paid for because this place is nothing but a tourist trap. I saw other tables complaining about their food as well, and the management just ignored them. This restaurant doesn’t care about quality, service, or customer satisfaction—they’re only interested in taking advantage of people.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth your money or your time. There are much better options in the area, and you deserve better than this overpriced, low-quality experience.

Disappointing Experience - Avoid at All Costs

I recently visited this restaurant, hoping to enjoy some decent Chinese food after a month of traveling, but I was severely disappointed. If you’re after good food, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

My meal started with a wonton soup that set the tone for the disaster to follow. The broth was thin, bland, and lacked any depth of flavor. To make matters worse, there were only five prawn wontons in the bowl, and they too were tasteless. I asked for some fresh chili to spice things up, but apparently, this restaurant doesn’t even offer that.

Next, I ordered the Singapore Noodles, which turned out to be an absolute disaster. The noodles were overcooked and mushy, with no hint of curry powder or seasoning. The dish contained a mere two prawns and a few pieces of roast pork, along with some limp bean sprouts. For a dish that's supposed to be bursting with flavor, this was utterly bland and lifeless.

The prices here are absurd. I paid 40 euros for this subpar experience, and it felt like highway robbery. On top of the poor quality of the food, the hygiene in the restaurant was appalling. The toilets were dirty, and the overall cleanliness of the place left much to be desired.

The service, except for the waitress who tried her best, was abysmal. The manager was rude and insolent, showing no care for customer satisfaction. Instead of addressing concerns, they seemed more focused on pushing overpriced drinks and desserts.

I can confidently say this restaurant is a total tourist trap. They prey on unsuspecting visitors, charging ridiculous prices for mediocre food. I witnessed cold soup being reheated in the microwave after complaints, which is simply unacceptable. To add insult to injury, we were charged 13 euros for a few slices of watermelon and 4 euros per person for tea—something that’s usually complimentary in most Chinese restaurants.

The owners try to seem friendly at first, but it quickly becomes clear they’re only interested in squeezing as much money out of you as possible. I was charged 44 euros for two spring rolls and a soda, with the owner justifying the price by claiming that each spring roll cost 10 euros. The whole experience felt like a scam, and they even provided a handwritten receipt, making it impossible to verify the prices.

The positive reviews for this place must be bought because there’s no way this restaurant could genuinely earn praise for the food or service it offers. Avoid this place at all costs—this is a disgrace to the restaurant profession and a blatant rip-off. You’ll walk away frustrated, overcharged, and still hungry.

As a Southeast Asian living overseas - I always crave for authentic Asian food. This place is the real deal.

Ordered the Yangzhou Fried Rice, the Sweet and Sour Pork among a few other dishes and the flavours instantly brought me back to Singapore. This place tastes like home and for anyone that wants to know what REAL Asian food tastes like - this is the place to be.

Service by the elderly couple running this place was impeccable as well - warm, thoughtful and attentive!

Food items were also reasonably priced for the quality and comparable to most Parisian establishment.

Already looking forward to my next visit to Paris where I get another chance to dine here again!!
