An bit pricey at 4-stars but absolutely spectacular boutique hotel situated on a very obscure street in the Saint-Placide/Montparnasse area of the Arrondissement 5.
The doorway is a nice beginning to an "explosion" of open and modern décor maximized in a surprisingly small area. The staff is friendly and genuinely welcoming and were VERY TOLERANT of my poor high school French. Always very helpful and accommodating with any of our needs.
The foyer opens to a second level open concept lounge area with a bar (sadly we never had time to enjoy it...) and an open set of stairs down into another huge lounge area which which is the morning breakfast area.
The breakfasts are full and excellent with a complete range of choices that anyone could want. (Be sure to look into the smaller seating room for juices, cereals and yoghurts. We were so impressed with the selections in the main room we didn't see it for two mornings!!!!) The main servery has a range of salads, fresh meats, hot buffet items and many delicious fresh breads, croissants and danishes. SUPERB!!!!
The hallways are extremely narrow but motion-activated lighting is an excellent energy saver. The room was light and airy and the bed was a very generous "double" which was actually two single frames.
The bathroom was fully equipped with luxury items around double sinks, a full bathtub and a glass-doored shower. BE CAREFUL of the fixtures for the water temperature. They are different than North American nozzles and their HOT WATER is EXCESSIVELY/SCALDING HOT. That could be turned down by the management for more energy savings.
Someone commented previously about the small, single elevator.
Your baggage is brought up for you after your arrival and although the CAPACITY IS 8...I find that hard to believe. We never had an issue with it in the six nights we were there.
The street has a few small bistros and the FORUM CAFE at the end of the street, A 5-10 minute walk to the top of the street and the busy restaurant-filled MONTPARNASSE intersection or head north to the Saint-Placide intersection for bistro patios on three corners. METRO stations at each as well.

My Husband and I had been in and out of a variety of hotels on a 20 day group tour by the time we hit this gem and gosh weren’t we thankful!

Absolutely beautiful rooms and hotel- we managed to book a room looking at the Eiffel Tower and we could have sat there all day everyday on the balcony.

Lovely and clean, great bed and TV that hooks up to devices to stream when you want a quiet day or night in.

Aircon was great and could also open windows and French doors when you liked too.

Very close to the metro which we used a lot- also very easy to navigate and the staff were very friendly with any questions.

Ironing boards and irons are available FOC from reception and also umbrellas.

Bags can be held until departure time if needed.

Fridge in room which was nice and also a kettle- you would just need to buy milk if needed as it’s not supplied.

Breakfast was great! All kinds of pastries and options available- hot and cold.

Lovely sitting area near reception- bar and also office space with computers and printers for those working.

Would LOVE to stay again next time we are in Paris!

Highly recommend this lovely spot- also- a few great patisseries on the same street too.

We stayed there twice. Our first room was wonderful. Our second room’s design was unusual because the separate toilet on the side of the bedroom from the bathroom. Therefore you had to go across the bedroom to wash your hands. Otherwise everything was exceptional! The staff was absolutely amazing! The breakfasts were incredible! The doormen were so wonderfully helpful!! Love this hotel!!

Just stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The location is perfect, right down the street from shops, cafes and patisseries. Not a long distance from the most popular areas of Paris, easy to navigate and travel to. The staff were so welcoming and helpful! The rooms were beautiful (we had one overlooking the gorgeous courtyard). The breakfast in the mornings was delicious with large selection! I will definitely be back!

The location, the room and the service were all first class. My family and I stayed recently with our newborn and the staff made us feel right at home. The breakfast on offer was delicious with a wide range of selections. Would recommend as a great first hotel to stay in Paris after a long flight.

We travel to Paris two or three times a year and have stayed in many hotels. The Littre is outstanding -- a true Parisian hotel with a bit of an American or English accent. Large rooms, a great breakfast buffet, genial and helpful staff and a location that is hard to beat -- a quiet street in a busy, stylish neighborhood. Whether it's your first trip to France or one of many, the Littre is the place to stay!

The room was large and quiet. The hotel is on a side street close to a large metro station. The ac was good but the lighting was poor. The shower is in the tub so you have to step over the side. Service was excellent. Excellent hotel for a four night visit to Paris

This charming hotel is an absolute treasure! Nestled in the ideal area of Paris, we enjoyed breathtaking terrace views of the Eiffel Tower every day. Our mornings started with delicious breakfasts that were simply fantastic, and the staff was incredibly attentive and warm—truly a delightful experience! The location couldn’t be better, with vibrant markets, fantastic shopping, and a plethora of amazing restaurants just a stone's throw away. Although we had a car, we opted to stroll around and soak up the city’s magic, taking taxis when we felt a bit tired. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel—it's a hidden gem! The only hiccup was one staff member at the front desk who seemed a bit pompous and condescending. But aside from that, our stay was nothing short of extraordinary!

Hotel Le Littré in Paris exceeded all our expectations! The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering warm hospitality and attentive service throughout. We especially appreciated the modern amenities, including streaming TV, which added a touch of home comfort to our stay. The breakfast was a delightful start to each day, featuring a variety of delicious options in a serene setting . Located just steps from Montparnasse and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the hotel provided the perfect base for exploring the city.

Bonjour

This Hotel is exceptional it is kept immaculately clean and the staff are curtious and polite. The resturant is likewise clean and tidy and waiting staff are attentive and polite. The breakfast was a little disappointing in lack of choice and on Monday was not hot where it should have been.
The barman a gentleman from Hong Kong called David was a pleasure and his knowledge of Paris great he gave us knowledge of the city first hand that we didn't know. Thankyou David.
Our only criticism was in our room 101 the Plug in the tub/bath didn't seal so when my wife was taking a bath the water ran away meaning we had to manually push it down to stop it emptying. Despite reporting it to reception it was not addressed. Otherwise a great place to stay and is recommended.

The hotel was a great stay for four nights in Paris. Rooms were spacious and well insulated from outside noise. The bed was comfortable and the room was pristinely clean. My only complaint about the room would be the thin walls. I could hear someone in the room above bathing at very late hours, but it’s an old building so I guess that’s to be expected.

The location was optimal as the area was relatively quiet yet you could easily get to all tourist spots walking and had close access to many restaurants and public transportation, though we almost exclusively walked.

I found the breakfast very basic, the coffee was atrocious from the machine. Though, admittedly, I am a coffee snob so maybe not fair.

The staff were very professional and willing to help arrange a taxi to the airport.

The hotel has a great location, we had a clean, larger room, which is very important when you are with a child and which is rare for Paris. Good breakfast for France. I was very pleased with the porter who told me more about the city than the reception staff.

The hotel would have deserved a higher rating if not for two points. 1) When we got into the taxi we discovered that we had forgotten the Sisley sweatshirt in the closet, we were in a hurry. We were not upset because we knew that we would return to Paris in 2 days and pick her up. I immediately wrote a message through booking and they didn't answer me! Later I wrote a message on the feedback form on the website and they didn't answer me either! The very next day l asked my friend who speaks French to call the hotel. And they said they didn't find her! I hung it there myself and asked my wife to put it on, and quickly she forgot; we immediately realized this in the taxi, but they didn't find it. I wrote a long letter asking them to sort it out and contact the police, because this means that their staff is not conscientious, and what did the hotel do? wished us to find her quickly. Thank you! 2) my wife and I always travel on her birthday and this is the first hotel in the world that did not congratulate its guest in any way; a small note from the administrator would be enough.
