La Belle Hortense est un vieux café parisien au joli zinc d'antan dans lequel on vient goûter d'agréables cuvées à des prix très abordables en bavardant gentiment accoudés au bar. Lancé en 1997, l'endroit a toujours su garder une clientèle fidèle. C'est aussi une librairie à la très belle bibliothèque – autant dans sa forme que dans son contenu –, où l'on peut prendre le temps de fureter d'ouvrage en ouvrage, à la recherche de son bonheur, en sirotant un apéritif. Voilà un lieu qui allie à la perfection littérature et bon vin !

Instantly became my favorite wine bar in Paris, especially as a book lover. The atmosphere is so cozy, the wait staff is personable and welcoming and the food choices are extremely tasty. We had the house wine, a ham sandwich, the tarama and chicken liver salad when we went and everything was delicious. The tarama was unreal, it was whipped in a way I have never had tarama before and I and my husband come from Greek families. The chicken salad was perfect as well and the chicken liver was grilled and seasoned to perfection.
My husband and I went here while they had the Peter Turnley exhibit happening and his photos added even more ambience to the place if that is even possible. We stayed here until the back of the restaurant cleared out and honestly I would have been happy to spend all night here. It was a truly magical place that I will be sure to visit every time I go to Paris.

Adding to the charm was a photography exhibition on display, which made the visit even more special. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink while diving into a good book or having a relaxed conversation with a friend. Truly a highlight in Paris!
