The hotel offers great amenities, and the breakfast was delicious, with a nice variety of options to start the day.
The problem we found was for the money we paid (double the Euro in Aussie dollars now too), the bed linen was awful. It was not hotel quality linen and felt like it had plastic in it. Definitely polyester nylon type feel. No Egyptian cotton in these! The pillows were atrocious. I couldn’t feel a decent underlay. Just felt the mattress through the sheets. So it must have been very thin. The pillows were meant to be the extra decorative pillow and were square instead of rectangular (trust me it did not feel right to sleep on a square!) and they were soft/lumpy/underfilled.
Honestly besides the bed and air con it would have hit 4 stars. After the first night I began to dread going to bed. We were sweating…What a shame it could have been so much better!
I did give the feedback, but no real result sadly.
The interior is very charming as well
My breakdown for our March 2025 stay is as follows:
1. Location: Great! Near 2 metro stops. Close enough to walk to restaurants and bakeries.
2. Space: Our room was #18. It is on the first floor next to the elevator and stairs. Due to the absolute abysmal insulation or lack there of, you hear EVERYTHING, all day and night. If you are looking for a relaxing, quite respite after a busy day in the city This.Is.Not.It!
3. Price: Our "suite" was 700 euro/night and had 1 king bed and 1 pull out sofa. The room also had one tub/shower and one toilet with sink in a separate space. To be clear, that's 1 shower and 1 toilet for 700 euro/night. In comparison, our suite at the Astotel, just across the street at 123 Sebastopol, had 2 king beds, 2 showers, and 2 toilets in a connected space for 500 euro/night.
Bottom line: If you are a family of 3 or 4, save money and have a quite, comfortable stay at Astotel. Even if a family suite is not available, you are better of splitting up and booking 2 rooms near each other at Astotel instead of a "suite" at Solly.
Solly was the low point of an otherwise great visit to Paris.
Positive :
- The hotel is truly beautiful and aesthetic.
- Clean, good wifi
- Very functional room
- There is someone at the reception 24/7
- Close to 2 metro stations and lots of restaurants/stores nearby
- Staff was helpful
Negative :
- The rooms are not soundproof at all, so we could hear the tv from the people beside us, when they were laughing, etc. Also we could hear all the noise from the cleaning team when they would do the rooms above ours/next to ours which is a little annoying when they start early in the morning...
- Lack of little attentions, like refilling the water for us, the vanity set in the bathroom with qtips etc. Also we would have appreciated that the coffee downstairs was free (and not 6€ for a cup of coffee) considering the price point of the hotel
We also noticed a lot of homeless around the area and in the park infront of the hotel..
We still enjoyed our trip to Paris and would recommend this hotel☺️
La décoration est vraiment très belle.
Petit-déjeuner super également.
Je recommande !
