Lieu à l'ambiance reposante et à la musique très bien choisie, offrant de très belles découvertes pour les amateurs de vins. Les vins sont excellents et ont des saveurs surprenantes.
Cependant, le barman était très (trop) à l'aise. Bien que son expertise en matière de vins ne soit pas à remettre en doute, son comportement laissait à désirer : bien plus familier que professionnel.
Ainsi, nous avons eu droit à de nombreuses réflexions, blagues douteuses, sous-entendus déplacés.
Nous étions deux et n'avons consommé que trois verres en tout, mais je n'ai jamais eu à régler une note aussi élevée dans un bar à vins de toute ma vie, y compris aux endroits où j'ai bu davantage.
J'ai lu les autres avis, et il semblerait que ce soit monnaie courante, sans mauvais jeu de mots... Restez prudents !
Il est tout de même regrettable d'avoir plus à se méfier de se faire arnaquer qu'à se préoccuper du moment présent en sortant boire un verre.

Le comportement du barman laissait à désirer. Son attitude peu amicale et son manque d'égards envers les clients ont grandement contribué à ma déception. Il était évident qu'il ne prenait pas plaisir à son travail et que son interaction avec les clients en souffrait.

Really unfortunate: The wine was very good and the night started out so well…but the prices weren’t displayed, and at the end of the night the barman tried to overcharge us by 74€. We argued about it, but still ended up overpaying by 32€. Such a shame because the night started out so nicely. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing the other reviews, I see that this wasn’t a one time thing.

If you do not speak good French, I would steer clear of this place. To my shame, none of my small group are fluent speakers, but two of us tried it to ask if they served food. As a result of subsequently asking whether the bald barkeeper spoke English, he proceeded to ignore us, speaking to several people who had come in after and telling us repeatedly to wait. After a few minutes, it became clear that this was some ritualistic humiliation. It’s more than fair to want people to speak French (as we tried to do), but to then ignore and try to embarrass them is unhinged behaviour. Tourists can be a little bit annoying, but we all find ourselves as tourists sometimes - best not to try to actively shame them!

I wrote a poem to try and cheer me up as I walked on to another nearby wine bar which was a lot more accommodating:

‘In Monsieur Henri, they serve many wines
But if your French isn’t good, you’ll have a bad time’.

I also thought of a joke that might work in a Parisian wine bar themed Christmas cracker:

‘What do you call the bald barkeeper at Monsieur Henri? Anything you want - if you don’t look like a local, he’ll ignore you anyway’

This is amazing wine bar! Great selection of natural wines and classics. Extremely friendly and knowledge bartender. Our group doesn’t speak a lot of French but he really made us feel welcomed
