Amazing food. Large portions. Very rich and decadent. Best guilty pleasure.

Trust me, you don’t need anything more than the 1/4 chicken. But the soup was incredible and the eggs mayonnaise were surprising and delicious. Go. Now. What are you boating for? Oh, and sit at the counter to watch.

I ordered coq au vin and the chicken was dry and I had to send it back. I ended up getting the roasted chicken which was very well prepared. For a restaurant that specializes in chicken, my cow au vin should not have been dry. I had the Mac and cheese with my chicken and I did not really care for it. I chalk that up to ordering an item that is especially good in the Southern US which is where I live.

Service was very good and they had no issue with returning my coq au vin.

With so many outstanding restaurants in Paris, I regret wasting one of my dinners at this restaurant. If you are a chicken fanatic then you might consider this restaurant otherwise….

Very underwhelming. The food was good but no better than any poulet rôti we have had in Paris. Designed for tourists who don’t know better.

looking forward to visiting based on reviews. I received an email and text that a 70 Euro deposit per person is required for a reservation. is this true?

Excellent dinner! I went with my husband and two year old, arriving as they opened. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, and very understanding of the needs of a toddler. The food was simply delicious; we ate every bite. Highly recommended for a family meal, or long dinner with friends.

The waiters were very helpful and friendly. They suggested fitting wines and answered all the questions.

The restaurant is on the expensive side (one should expect approx. 50€ per person) but the food and the environment make up for it + if you know how much thought and preparation goes to prepping the chicken, you'll understand the pricing makes sense.

A perfect place for a cute date in a pretty place.

Came here with a big group, Lucas and the team were amazing and squeezed in 2 extra people despite an already agreed upon reservation (Lucas went out of his way to add and confirm 1 extra person for our reservation the night before)

As usual, the staff is friendly, patient, and the food is as always, amazing, got 1 of each kind of birds and it was so good. This restaurant is always a must go whenever I am in Paris.

This restaurant was our favorite on a recent trip to Paris. We started with giblet empanadas and the “poultry cream” soup, which were both amazing. My husband said the soup was the best soup he’s ever had. We both ordered the roasted quarter, which was a larger than expected serving of chicken. We chose the potatoe puree and Mac and cheese for the sides. My husband also felt the sauce with the Mac and cheese was the best he’s ever had. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, Bran, was excellent and made us feel very comfortable. We highly recommend this place for dinner if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten path in the Montmarte area!

In the movie Ratatouille, Remy combines a piece of cheese and a strawberry and the flavors create fireworks in his head. It’s not an exaggeration to say that was my exact same reaction when I took my first bite of the roasted chicken at Le Coq & Fils. Paired with a great side of Mac and Cheese, delicious French fries and a tasty glass of white wine, it was truly one of the best meals of my life. The piece of fresh chocolate and an espresso at the end was a perfect finish to an incredible meal. If you’re looking for a great meal in Montmartre, couldn’t recommend it enough. It will ruin supermarket chickens for you!

Impression when booking online from reviews was that it was a high-end restaurant with prices that was justified by quality, but the experience was far from high-end.

Felt like a tourist trap.

Booked online and had to confirm the reservation several times. "are you sure you want to come?"
In addition it is not a feelgood initiation to a "customer / restaurant" relationship to have the "threat" of 140 Euro non-appearance fee hanging over your head. Especially when we arrive, the restaurant is far from full.

Secondly, the prices. 8 (!) Euro for a 0.33 l coke and 5 (!) Euro for a bottle of tap water (even if you have the most expensive high tech filtration system in the world) is obscene.

We expected more from a chicken when that is the main theme of the restaurant. I would have expected it to fall of the bone, be juicy and tender. It was quite the opposite. Dry, meat sticking to the bone and most of the skin was soggy. Felt like it was reheated in a microwave.
You may say... well that is what it is like eating an old hen... if so I would rather have a young one. The taste of the meat was not over and beyond what you get elsewhere.

It has to be mentioned though that the sauce was very nice and so was the vegetables. French Fries had a good seasoning, but very unevenly cooked - some soggy and some overcooked, but overall ok.

Finally, why place 3 sets of people (pairs) next to each other when the restaurant is 1/4 full? Wanting to have an intimate dinner with couples on either side within 30 cm is annoying.

Poultry excellence
I come back here every time I’m in Paris. Chef Westermann’s attention to detail and the quality and consistency of his food are the hallmarks of his great career and this restaurant.allows him to showcase the marvelous varieties of poultry out there. I learn something new every time I eat here.
